After 3 days of nonstop travel Alec finally reached the capital. As soon as he got of his horse it died of exhaustion and as soon as he told the guards about the invasion he died as well.

With the information an army was soon dispatched by the kingdom managing to break into the fortress right before it was taken and thus it managed to hold it until the other armies of the various kingdoms and empires of the Altera continent managed to arrive and destroy the monster horde.

Captain Benjar and the soldiers where hailed as the heroes who saved the continent but no one remembered the messenger who gave his life to deliver the news thus saving the fortress.

The only ones who still remembered Alec were the survivors from Alzoth who then erected a monument in the middle of the fortress in his honor.
