Chapter Six: Ubria - Save the Soul.

Everything is hazy. Strange memories are floating in my head. And the worst thing is, I can't seem to contact Líng. His place in my mind is empty.

I start to wonder. What happened to me? Am I still alive in Zhōng Nuǎn's body?

After a while I can hear muffled voices around me and I finally manage to open my eyes. "How long was I out." I manage to croak. I feel someone take my hand. "Take it easy, you fainted not long ago." The voice belongs to, to my father. I can't believe I already found him! And got a brother for free with it.

Me personally never had a sibling. Related by blood that is. I hope he doesn't have any children younger than this body tho..

"How long did I sleep?" The man smiles at me. "Just three hours. I have already send word to the Sect's envoy, and my sister will be arriving here shortly to arrange everything." I look at him. He laughs. "She will arrange your dismissal from the Sect's future disciples." This answer makes me doubt even more. "You didn't think for a second I would let you join, when you are to become the first Princess of Tánhuáng Country?" Tears form in my eyes. "You really mean that?" He smiles widely. "Why wouldn't I? You are my daughter. Besides, the palace is overflowing with testosterone so we could really use some female influence there." After he says that we both burst into laughter.

"Dad." I pause. "Can I call you dad?" He nods. "Can my cousin come as well? I don't think it's safe for her at the sect with Prince Xié'è Fàngsí having his eyes on her." He hums. "From what I heard he was more attached to you then her. But I understand your concern, so I'll discuss it with your aunt." I noticed that be had switched from sister to aunt, which made me feel more familiar.

A knock sounds at the door. "Is she awake yet?" My dad smiles. "Yes she is son, you may enter." I feel a little nervous, officially meeting him now. I don't count three hours ago when the man pinched my face. So I extend my hand for a greeting. But that gives me strange faces. My cheeks heating up under their gaze.

{ Crap totally forgot that it's not a custom for males and females to touch each other. Especially when unwed. Líng where are you, I'm screwing things up!! }

Feeling ashamed I fold my hands in front of my face. God what could they be thinking of me now. Then they start to laugh. "You are so funny sister! I didn't know you knew the Sailor Greeting. You a girl who never went to the sea." I blink and don't know what to say. He smiles and walks towards me. Then he pulls me in a hug. "I've always wanted a sister." He mumbled against my neck. Overwhelmed by his hug I slowly (try) to wrap my hands around his back. And I pat his head.

"Me too, a strong brother who wants to protect me." He releases me and smiles. "You got two now, Tài Xiáng will protect you too!" Immediately I start to blush. And I wonder how long it will take for everyone to figure out our connection. "Or do you have other plans with him, little sister." My blush deepens and I am unable to give him the snide remark I was planning to give him. "Well none of that under my nose. You are way too young! And he is too old." I look at him. "Wouldn't that make you old as well?" Since the two of them are both 21.

He starts to fuss about that when our father interrupts us. "Let's get something to eat all right? We can talk more over some dinner." We both nod. But then he grabs my hand to pull me with him, which triggers my ability.

°° It starts off hazy, but then I see yet another familiar face. It's Fang Hé. °°

{ I laugh a little in my vision. Well task two finding love for my family is becoming a very easy task.

Líng? Hello? *Sigh* He'll report to me when he returns. }

The dinner was ten ways of awkward. General Tài Xiáng was sitting across from me, but I didn't dare to look at him. After seeing him again after having that vision of our future I felt so shy, I didn't know I had that in me. I have never been that shy, but knowing the guy in front in me is not only the match for this body, but also for myself, I can't help but blush. I feel completely helpless and I don't know how to act in front of him. My palms are sweating as well and I am totally ignoring him. Not that it matters as he isn't paying attention to me either.

"Are you alright, my daughter?" I look at my dad. Slightly panicking I blurt something out. "How is Prince Chéngshí?" A knife dropped onto a plate. The General stood up with an apology and left in a hurry with an angry look on his face. I paled a bit. Was it because I asked about Chéngshí?

{ Can he know that we are connected? Líng? Hello?! * Still nothing.. * }

"To be honest, it could be better. The doctor that came for him was nothing more than an apprentice and he wasn't sure if the prince would pull through." Immediately I jump up. "C-can I see him?" I blush a bit after that stutter. Quickly continuing on that sentence. "I know a little bit of healing. Although I've never had a patient before.." My father smiles. "Well why didn't you say that, follow me. And should I know something?" He asks with a look on his face. I blush even deeper. "No. No! He likes my cousin, he's only my friend, h-he helped me." My father starts to laugh. "It's alright, I only want to know who I need to threaten in the future. From a fathers perspective off course."

After reaching the room where Chéngshí was staying I excused myself and entered. Chéngshí was tucked into the bed, sweating profoundly. I pull away the blankets immediately and grab the clean wet rags and try to reduce his fever. After cooling him down a bit I close my eyes and enter my Medicine and Herbalism space where I try to find the way I can heal my friend.

It took me a little over 30 minutes to put together the right treatment method for him. Being quite relieved I can do this, I silently thank the one in charge for making me learn skills for it seems they really come in handy. Smiling to myself I start the treatment, softly humming a song I liked back in my own world.

In the garden, just outside of the room where the foreign Prince was resting, a certain General was watching a beautiful girl taking care of said Prince. Her soft looking hands softly patting his feverish body, and humming while healing his wounds. Tài Xiáng balled his fist. Why is she taking care of another man?! The first woman he had ever met that he wanted for himself. Whom he felt connected too. The one he felt like spending the rest of his life with.

How was he going to make her his?

She was finally done. Chéngshí was going to be just fine and I was completely exhausted. After saying goodnight to my father I wobbled to my room. The last thing I truly wanted was for Líng to come back. What was he doing anyway.

The next morning I was still alone. Funny that I've gotten attached to the little guy so fast. While I've been spacing out someone sneaked into my room. And scared me to death when she screamed. "Hi Cousin!" And embarrassing as it was, I fell of my chair. But when I saw who it was I only felt happiness and relief. "Fāng'er! You're here!" And I hugged her.

"Yeah one of the High Priestesses took me here. Whats going on?" I pull her towards the chairs and sit her down. "What I am about to tell you is top secret okay?" She nods. So I start explaining.

"O my God! You are so so so lucky!" I look at her with big eyes. "Huh?" She laughs. "I mean, when we talked these past days, you seemed afflicted, and now knowing what it was, your real dad will give you what you have missed all this time!" A tear slips from my eye. "You deserve it you know. You and your mom." I sniff softly. "Really?" She nods. "Me and my mom got lucky with my dad. You and your mom had it really tough so yes. You deserve every good thing that's coming for you." Then she hugs me tightly.

Someone knocks on my door. "You coming for breakfast sis?" Fāng Hé turns to face me and mouths 'BROTHER??' I shrug my shoulders and answer to my half brother who was waiting outside my door. "Uhm. Yeah I'll be right there! I'll bring my cousin too is that all right?" He answers right away. "She hot? Haha no joking. But it's okay to bring her, I'll inform the kitchen that we'll need another plate." Then he walks away. "Well, is he hot? I was absolutely dreading to join the Silent Sect because you had to remain celibate the rest of your life." I look at her. "You where over the moon yesterday that you could join." She smiles sheepishly. "But I thought about it and I decided that I want a husband and children. Preferably a gorgeous man whom I can enjoy in the private rooms, if you know what I mean." I blush. "Shush you! So inappropriate." But then I suddenly remember the soul match between him and my cousin. Guess she will have her wish come true then. But how in the world am I going to match them without them being suspicious about it. Unless they believe in the spiritual bloodline flowing in me for no apparent reason..

We rewind to the moment Zhōng Nuǎn fainted, which was the exact moment Líng was summoned by his superiors. Fueled with anger he starts to shout at his boss. Not his brightest moment I think, but you can't have everything running smoothly. After his tiny punishment for disrespecting his superior, he was informed of the mayor task that was waiting for him and his host.

"Almighty you tell me that you, the God of all Things, you lost a Godly Soul?! How can that happen? I thought they where protected!" Jūn Fù Dà Néng (The Almighty God) sighed. "I didn't lose it. It was stolen and shredded." Líng is perplexed. "Great security you have there." He looked at him angrily. "The soul was supposed to become the Goddess of Love." Líng's mouth drops open. "It was to become your sons wife?" He nods. "Do you know who stole it? Do they still have the soul?" He shakes his head. "Yes and No. The soul was brought to me by the God of Souls: Shēnkè Xīnlíng, he wanted the soul as his own wife, but I saw she matched better with my son, the God of Love: Jūn Mù Chūnxīn. He was extremely dissatisfied with my judgement and stole the soul away. Then he separated the soul and scattered the pieces. I now managed to locate the soul pieces and you and your host are to retrieve them."

Líng was flabbergasted. "Why us?" The God laughs. "Because you are the only ones who can." Líng had no answer. "You know Godly Souls don't take gender? Remember?" Líng nods slowly. "So you are the only ones who can retrieve the pieces, because they need to be collected by the same person." Líng nods. "So how do we find these Soul Pieces? My host has a lot to do in these worlds already." The God smiles. "It's more like a life long trial. If you fail, you'll know." And Líng was flung back to his host.

Zhōng Nuǎn had never felt more horrified then at the breakfast she just had. Her brother and her cousin where mesmerized by each other. It was so rainbows and unicorns even she, as a certified 'love expert', got a bit nauseous by it. The looks she exchanged with her father where a cry for help. From both of them. But it would be rude to just leave the table, although I don't think they would notice.

This thought pulls me back to yesterday when General Tài Xiáng left so abruptly. I wonder where he went, because he didn't join them at breakfast. Maybe he had to return to Tánhuáng early. Or he was avoiding me. I hoped it wasn't the second option. That would break my heart a little.

She coughed softly to gain her fathers attention. "I am finished, so I'm going to check on Chéngshí before taking a walk in the garden." He nods. "If you are going to walk, don't forget to ask company of a bodyguard." I nod. "I will dad." And I stand up and excuse my leave of the table.

Chéngshí looks better then yesterday. He is still sleeping, which worries me a bit. I start to grind some herbs to mix into his drink, so he will consume some medicine and vitamins. While I'm doing this I stare out of the window. Slowly I look over the courtyard, only to be scared to death when I lock eyes with Tài Xiáng. "G-general.." I see him struggling with something and his fist are clenched. "Good morning Princess." I am taken aback by him using that title on me. "You can call me Nuǎn, General." He smirks. "Only if you call me Xiáng, milady." Oh crap I walked right into that trap. So I smile softly at him. "Alright. Xiáng." I blush when I call out his name. And it seems like he noticed this because his smile became wider. "I'll leave you to your work then, Miss Nuǎn."

I release my breath after he walks away. My heart is beating like crazy, and my herbs are a mushy paste right now. Sighing I start to mix this with some milk that one of the servants had brought in, and I start to feed it to Chéngshí. It started off kind of difficult but I got the hang of it after he almost choked. Whoops (ᗒᗨᗕ).

When I'm finally done I call one of the guards and start my stroll around the garden. And then finally I hear a little voice that I've missed ever since I've fainted.

[ I'M BACK!!! Did you miss me? ]

{ (╬ಠ益ಠ) LÍNG YOU LITTLE DEVIL! WHERE THE HELL WHERE YOU! I WAS WORRIED SICK! }

[ o(╥﹏╥)o I'm so sorry, it wasn't my fault I was kidnapped! I missed you! ]

{ Please explain it to me. I really missed you too Líng. }

So he started to explain to me that we had been selected to preform a task, that was going to change my whole experience being a transmigrator. I just hoped we wouldn't meet with much difficulties. Saving that soul would probably be difficult as it is. Then I filled Líng in what had happened to me here and after that we just chatted. Because I truly missed that little guy.

[ OH! Almost forgot. We did get something extra to help us. A Spiritual Egg. When you finish on this world you can form a soul bond with it and then we will see what for Animal it is! ]

{ Sounds great Líng! But next time warn me before you leave me like that. I thought you had left me alone here. }

And he sends me a virtual kiss.
