Chapter 17
It's been a very long day for everyone. The children were able to be calmed down but, some of the adults are still scared of what happened... It can't be helped for even I, could not ever imagine what kind of hell they saw as they were kept inside for all those time.
"We shall be returning back to the base and will order someone to give you guys some equipment to survive. If you are having troubles, just go to the next town and look for a man named Huryl. They are our allies. Before leaving, i want to ask you everyone who is willing to fight to train yourselves... I would like to ask for your strength to help me over throw this kind of kingdom." I said.
Everyone stared and nodded to each other as i finish the stuffs i want to say... After nodding to each other, they returned their gazes back to me and i saw a flame burning in each of everyone's eyes,
One man from the crowd stood up and introduced himself and said something...
"My name is Val Joisten, i was a former soldier who fought in the war... I decided to serve in the church to repent and pray for the lost lives of my fellow soldiers and even for the enemy soldiers... In the battlefield, everyone was just wishing for the same... it is to protect their love ones... and i who survived, killed many of those people... I really did plan to serve the church for my entire life but now... not being able to notice such a thing is happening really hurts my heart... But! i'm glad that Lady Rij saved everyone... I am willing to do my best and serve you in doing justice" Val said.
As everyone heard Val, Everyone proudly said that they will cooperate. As everyone tells their own stories, we've come to found out that not only Val was the only former soldier in the church but almost all of the guys were like that... everyone came from a lot of different places and was survivors. One girl was also a former soldier... it seems that during the war, the country that she came from was lacking some men for the war and made some girls to also fight...
"I am Gilet Bouever... I specialize in handling machine guns... I've grown to the battlefield... my country used every one who aged thirteen and above to fight in the battlefield... I never wished to return back to what i was in the past but, if it is for protecting those children and giving justice... i don't mind reverting back." Gilet said
Kaishin and the others just stood at the back and patiently listened to everyone's backstories... Everyone has the same goal now... they want to protect those children and wishes for those children to not go to any sufferings like they did in the past, and go forward in a bright future...
After that night, we had to return back in the morning. We returned the carriages to Baron Jibel of course and it was driven back by Kaishin and Fisel.
We shared the wonderful news of success with Baron Jibel and he was really glad by that. He cried as he knelt down, feeling happy for those children and other victims as well...
"Right! Lady Rigelle... i sent the letter and got a response from the duke and duchess... they are glad to know that you were not killed by the emperor..." Baron Jibel said
We took some sips of tea and had treats from the Baron and, after that, we traveled back to our base now...
Fesil and Comil fell asleep as they were really tired from all the long fighting yesterday...
As we were passing by from the road of some villages, news were already spreading about my 'Adultery' and death punishment afterwards... Everyone was gossiping about it, just as i imagined...
It's not really true tho... i just hope that they won't talk bad about my duke house...
"Hahh... we are finally returning..." I said as i let out a sigh of relief...
Kaishin stared at me as i said my thoughts out loud, and smiled warmly... As i saw that expression of him, i already forgot the expressions he had when he fought with the church and knights yesterday...
