Chapter 38: Lizardmen part 4

The battle was near, the area was filled with fear. Cocytus had displayed the full night to of the skeleton warriors in a harrowing display of power while Atlas was away. The Lizardmen clearly saw that the skirmished that they had just gone through were pointless and would all end with one result. These results didn't mean anything now, only this battle matters now.

Atlas entered the field, wielding a black sword. The skeleton was clad in black armours that did not show a single feature of his. Atlas stood at the center of the field awaiting his opposition; a ragtag group of tribal warriors. With one skill Atlas could easily destroy their forces, but that would not be satisfactory.

The warriors were as weak as flies. Comparing them to skeletons that were of first level would make them seem like heroes, but in the face of Nazarick, they are nothing but trash. The lowest of the Pleiades could slaughter them without expending half of their strength and Atlas was no different. The Guardian Of The Necropolis would not lose to such a pitiful army of Lizardmen, this time he had planned against their cunningness.

The art of teamwork only worked if the combine power of the team was enough to destroy their opponent, but clearly this can no longer be applied. Atlas was simply too strong to take damage from such lowly creatures.

The aura of the atmosphere turned dark as the Lizardmen started to feel the skeleton's crushing aura of despair. Not a single one of the Lizardmen could truly fight him without shaking even by the slightest bit. The warriors were all frightened but it didn't mean that they would surrender that easily. The warriors of the Lizardmen tribes gathered at the battlefield behind a set of two black pillars that Atlas had erected.

"I am Atlas, Vice-general of the forces of Nazarick. I will be your final opponent and the one to bring an end to this war."

"Lizardmen, My Lord has decided to conquer this domain. Resist as you would, but know that only death awaits you. Once you step through these black pillars, no one can save you from the wrath of Nazarick."

Atlas pointed his sword towards the group of Lizardmen that were huddled behind the pillars as they began to discuss their plan. After a minute, a group of the strongest Lizardmen warriors gathered right behind the pillars and crossed through, initiating their demise.

"Welcome to death's domain."

Atlas immediately summoned a cloud of pitch black clouds which covered the area in darkness. Everyone that was within the combat zone felt the darkness creep through the ground as it lingered in the area. The lizardmen were still able to see, but were scared out of their minds. Before them was a being that represented death; the grim reaper.

"Warriors of Lizardmen, you have chosen death! Let it be known, you died honourably and bravely. But death is death, I hope you become great brothers in death."

Atlas dashed into the large group of warriors, killing them all.

With the clouds passed, the battle came to an end. All that was left on the battle field were the corpses of the greatest warriors of each tribe. None were left standing as Atlas walked through the grim field. The Lizardmen could only watch in absolute shock as they found their comrades dead in only the confines of a minute, the battle was now over, they had lost.

Atlas moved towards the village with the body of one of the warriors.

"This Warrior was the only one that did not die in one strike, therefore, he was your greatest warrior." Atlas announced as he place the warm corpse on the ground.

It was none other than the lizardman that wielded the ice sword. Even with that strength, he was unable to fend off more than a couple of strikes from Atlas' secondary weapon.

"This is But a sliver of Nazarick's power."
