Chicken or Egg?

At 6 PM, Song Tian arrived at home.

On his way to the home previously, he's excited to drives his new car. He remembered that his parents taking his grandma to see her sister, so he went to the restaurant on the way back to buy the dinner for his sisters.

Song Tian saw Song Xia on the living room playing games her console, and he put the foods on the dining table, "Xiao Xia, I bought you some foods. Mom and dad are going to be late, they're going to grandpa's house," He said.

Song Xia stopped playing the games, "You guys continue to gather the woods and fibers. Keep an eye for my taming, don't let the taming efficiency dropped below 97%, or we can't raid the alpha tribe on this server," she said to her online friends.

Song Xia looked at her brother, "They're going to grandpa house? Why not take me along with them? I miss grandpa and grandma," she said.

Song Tian smiled, "It's something urgent, I'll tell you once Sister Xue came home. What server are you going to raid today? Is it on the cross-platform server?" he said.

Song Xia nodded, "Yes, it's on server 137. Brother, hurry up, bring your tribe members so we can raid together. The conversation continues for a while until Song Xue arrived, and they went to the dining table to have dinner.

Song Xia asked, "So, what urgent thing you're talking about earlier brother?" she said.

Song Xue is also curious about this. Song Tian explained to them about their grandma's little sister, Gao Zhao and so on.

After that, Song Tian went to his bedroom and logged in to VoIP software to write an announcement on his tribe's VoIP's server.

"PREPARE YOURSELF, WE'RE GOING TO RAID ALPHA TRIBE ON SERVER-137 TO HELP MY LITTLE SISTER IN THE NEXT 20 MINUTES. BRING YOUR HIGHEST GRADE GEARS, MAX LEVEL MONSTER AND DON'T FORGET TO CHANGE YOUR USERNAME TO 123."

All of his tribe members already knew the usual stuff and immediately change their username to 123 since it's prevent the enemies from tracking their server's main base.

Not long after he posted the announcement, all of his tribe members logged in and going to the voice channel immediately. Song Tian calls Song Xia to come to his tribe voice chat channel.

Several moments later, Song Tian and his little sister successfully raid the alpha tribe on server 137. He bids farewell to his tribe members.

He notices that his parents already came back, and he went to sleep.

In the morning after breakfast, Song Tian asked, "How is the grandma dad?" he said.

Song Chen answered, "Your grandma really misses her little sister and asks her to move to her house, but Aunty Zhao refuses. Aunty Zhao decided to stay over there until your grandma calmed down," he said.

Song Tian nodded, "She must really miss her little sister so much," he said.

Not long after, Song Tian heard his phone rang, and Wang Hai told him that the gazebo is already finished.

Zhu Mei looked at her son, "Xiao Tian, mom will come in the afternoon with my workers to make over your cabins," she said.

Song Tian nodded, "Alright, just don't overdo it, mom. Just simple decoration will do," he said.

Song Tian pondered, "Since the chicken coop is ready, I need to buy some chickens, and their feeds," he thought.

Song Tian already saw the chicken coop, he's purposely built it not too big because he's still a beginner and wants to learn it step by step.

After a moment later, he went to the garage to take his car and drives to poultry in the downtown.

Arrived at the stores, he immediately asked the staff for beginner stuff related to the chickens.

After several minutes explaining, Song Tian looked around the poultry. There are a lot of chickens. From Silkie chicken to the White Faced Black Spanish chicken.

Pondering for a moment, Song Tian decided that he will buy five roosters and five hens. He brought the Leghorn chickens and also brought a lot of chicken feeds.

Song Tian remembered at what Song Yi said when his dad mastering the real way of the hoe and asked, "Xiao Yi, is there any chicken-related quest?" he said.

Song Yi's voice could be heard, "Bingo! There's a quest related to it, and since you already level 2, you can take additional quest now. Master, would you like me to show you a list of additional quest?" she said.

Song Tian eyes lit up, "Wait for us to arrive at the farm first, I don't want to die yet," he said as he's still driving his car.

Arrived at his farm, Song Tian put the chickens on the chicken coop and put the feeds on their feeding trough.

Song Tian went to the planted area and watering all his crops.

After that, he went to take a look at the newly made gazebo near the river, he's delighted with Wang Hai's work.

He went back to the planted area to make sure the plant he grows is in healthy condition, Song Tian asked, "Xiao Yi, show me the additional quest," he said.

Quest scroll appeared in front of him, there's a list of the additional quest he can take.

[Side Quest 1: Chicken or Egg?]

- Quest Description: "This question had been there since ancient times. But this time is different. Will you choose to sacrifice the chicken for its meat or choose to take care of it for the eggs?"

-Quest Requirement: Chicken Meats x5 or Chicken Eggs x5.

-Quest Rewards: Chicken Stats, Converting The Chicken Coop To Become One With The System According To The Quest Taken and additional stuff.

- PS: "Master, choose wisely. Once you take one, you can't retake another Chicken or Egg quest."

Looking at the quest, Song Tian pondered, "Hmm, if I were to take the meat quest, that means I will become a butcher, huh. If I take the egg quest, I can produce a lot of egg, and I can breed more chickens from that," he thought.

Song Tian immediately clicks the Egg Quest button, and the quest requirement changed to Chicken Eggs 0/5.

Song Tian scrolls down the quest scroll to see if there's an additional quest that's easy to do to fill his free times.

Several moments later, Song Tian found one quest which is easy enough and piqued his interest.

- Side Quest 6: Fence For Protection.

- Quest Description: "While there's a big pest such as rat and others, master also needs to prevent the crops from being harmed by some bigger animals."

- Quest Requirement: Make a hand made wooden fences around the empty plots.

- Quest Rewards: Any chosen land master decides to be surrounded by the fences will become protected soil (From Bigger Animals Only) and additional rewards.

Song Tian looked at the quest, "If I put the fences only around the planted area, the protected area will be small. Let's just build it on the edge of the lands I owned," he thought.

Song Yi laughed, "Wow, master already find the loophole in it. Nice idea, master," she said.

Song Tian sighed, "Of course, now I have to think twice after I saw my dad mastered the true way of the hoe," he said.

Song Tian continued, "Is it okay if I buy the processed lumber? I don't have to look for the timber in the forest, right?" he asked.

Song Yi answered, "Of course, why would you bother to look for the timber in the forest. Moreover, you also need to process it, which is really time-consuming," she said.

Song Tian pondered for a moment, "Around 140cm will do. I need a lot of it, I need to build it on all around the edge of my lands," he said.

"Alright, I need to bring my worker first to calculate how much lumber you need to build all of that," Wang Hai said.

Not long after that, Wang Hai arrived with his workers. He stepped out of the car and greets Song Tian.

After briefing done on the cabin, Song Tian, Wang Hai, and his workers started to survey the area.

Wang Hai's workers already letting out the measurement tools, and after almost for an hour, they're back from surveying the area. One of Wang Hai's worker handed the note to Wang Hai.

Wang Hai looked at the note, "Brother, here's the detail," he said.

Wang Hai started to explain to Song Tian about the distance for each fence post and the total lumber he needed.

Wang Hai continued, "I also going to warn you that the wooden fence post can't last forever since it will rot inside the ground overtimes. Brother, are you sure you won't use the metal fence post? I'm going to provide it for you free," he said.

Song Tian smiled, "Don't worry about that. It's also within my calculation that the fence post will rot overtimes," He said. He obviously didn't know what he's talking about.

Wang Hai smiled bitterly after he heard what his brother said.

After the deal sealed off, Song Tian immediately transferred the money to Wang Hai's account.

Not long after Wang Hai left with his workers to get the lumber, Song Tian could see his mother's company truck.

Three workers immediately unloaded all the furniture and tools.

Worker 1 came to greet Song Tian, "Young Master, madam said she'll come after an hour," he said.

Song Tian nodded, "Take your time, there are a lot of drinks inside if you're thirsty. I will order some foods for you guys," he said.

Worker 1 immediately shook his head, "No, Young Master doesn't have to trouble yourself," he said.

Song Tian ignored Worker 1 and took his phone to order the foods for all the workers.

After ordering the foods, Song Tian looked at Worker 1, "The foods will come shortly, I already pay them all. If I see all of you not eating the foods... hehe," he said.

Worker 1 smiled bitterly, the Madam's Son is really nice to them.

Song Tian looked at the workers, "I will go to the chicken coop to look around, you guys continue your work," he said as he went to the chicken coop.

Song Tian looked at the chicken, and according to his favorite farming games, there's one way to make chicken stats higher.

Song Tian tries to pick them up and gently drop them to see if the chickens like it. However, it didn't turn out as to what he expected as the chickens startled and started to pecks Song Tian fiercely.

Song Yi laughed, "Master, I can't believe you really try that method, haha," she said.

Song Tian smiled bitterly, he thought he could do the same on this world since he has the system now.

Several moments later, Zhu Mei arrived to supervise her workers.

Song Tian just came out from the chicken coop and saw his mom already arrived, "Mom, Fatty Wang, and his workers will come later. So don't mind me, I'm going to install the fence for this land," he said.

Zhu Mei surprised, "Install the fence? By yourself? Why don't you just pay the worker to do it for you?" she couldn't help but ask.

Song Tian already expected such a question from his mom, "I'm doing something beneficial to this farm mom, and I have to try it for myself. It's also some way of training for me, hehe," he said as he didn't want to lie too much to his own mother, so he said something vaguely to her.

Zhu Mei shook her head, "Fine, do your own thing. I heard you already bought chicken, take me to them," she said excitedly.

Song Tian takes her mom to the chicken coop and explaining to her what kind of chicken they are and stuff.

Not long after, Wang Hai arrived with his workers with the lumbers Song Tian ordered, he also brought any kind of power tools for his brother.

Wang Hai looked around and didn't see where's Song Tian, yelled, "Brother, the lumbers have arrived," he said.

Song Tian heard Wang Hai's voice, and he went outside from chicken cop, leaving his mother in the chicken coop. Apparently, his mother really loves the chicken he bought.

Wang Hai looked at Song Tian who just came out from the chicken coop, "Brother, I brought the power tools for you to assist you in installing the fences," he said.

Song Tian smiled, "Thank you, you don't have to do this, you know," he said as he feels blessed to have such brother on his side.

Wang Hai laughed, "I'm going to bring it anyway, what can you do. I will put the lumbers near the entrance. Remember, the post distance is 3 meters," he said.

Song Tian laughed, "Sure, my mom's workers already finishes with the living room. Also, there are foods I ordered for you," he said.

Wang Hai eyes lit up when he heard foods and immediately went straight to the cabin.

Song Tian shook his head, he looked at the lumbers he ordered. There are a lot of processed lumbers with the exact same of length.

He took two of them first, to install the post on the entrance area.

After calculating the entrance area, he starts digging with the tools Wang Hai brought him. He learned how to install the fence from video tutorial he saw on Sphere.

He looked at the plastic bag with liquid on it, Wang Hai said that it's some kind of best quality foam. He put the post on the hole he digs earlier.

Song Tian looked at the stuff on his hand, "From the tutorial video I saw, I just have to pour it in a circle around the post," he said as he cuts the liquid plastic with scissors and pours them around the post carefully without touching the post.

He looked at the liquid he just poured, and it started to expand like an inflated balloon. According to the instruction he saw on the plastic, it only needs 1 hour for it to be cured. So he began to install another entrance post.

Zhu Mei already went outside after playing with the chickens for a while, she found them very cute, "I didn't think it would be very interesting to look at the chickens," she thought.

Zhu Mei saw Wang Hai in the cabin, and Wang Hai immediately greets Zhu Mei.

Zhu Mei asked, "Xiao Hai, where's Xiao Tian?" she said.

Wang Hai answered, "He's installing the fence right now. Aunty Mei, you need to see it. I offered him to install it, but he doesn't want it," he said.

Zhu Mei smiled bitterly, "Just let him be, you already know him, he's not going to stop once he's doing something he wants," she said.

Zhu Mei went outside to bring her son some water, she could see her son installing the fence post, "Xiao Tian, drink some water," she handed the big bottle of water to Song Tian.

Song Tian wiping of sweat on his forehead, "Phew, thanks mom," he said and immediately drinks the waters.

Zhu Mei looked at her watch, "It's already 3 PM, don't rush your work and stop if the day already dark," she said.

Song Tian laughed, "I know mom, don't worry," he said to reassure his mom.

Several hours later, Wang Hai and Zhu Mei already left.

Song Tian already installed the fence on the front side and right side. All he needs to do is to install near the river area and the left side of his land.

He went back to his cabin, and after he's already cleaning himself, he went back to his home.

Arrived at home, it's already past dinner times, he walked to the living room to hang out with his family.

Song Tian looked at his dad who's on the couch, "Dad, tomorrow I'm preparing to move out to the cabin. I'm almost done with installing the fences," he said.

Song Chen already knew about his son installing the fence by himself from his wife, sighed, "So fast?" he said as he already knew that someday his son will be on his own.

Zhu Mei looked at her son, "Xiao Tian, why don't you just stay here? How are you going to eat your breakfast? What if you got sick?" she said.

She's really worried and reluctant to see her own son moving out and live on his own.

Song Tian smiled bitterly, "Don't worry about that. Mom, Dad. You know I need to go on my own someday, right? I can't always rely on both of you, and it's not like I'm not coming back anymore since it's only about 40 minutes drives from here," he said.

His sisters also said similar things. After talking with them for a while to reassure his parents and sisters, Song Tian went to his bedroom to pack his stuff.
