Final Boss (1)

It was early in the morning when everyone woke up and did their own things.

Some of the male elves helped the females to prepare breakfast; getting the woods and food. Ryth was still inside his tent as he changed his clothes and bandages. Once he was done, he went out for his daily routine.

The cool breeze in the air and the soft light gave off feelings that the place that they were in wasn't inside a dark and cramped dungeon. It felt relaxing.

Ryth was about to head towards the small lake to wash his face when he saw Lady Elsa and Azalea chatting. The two of them were sitting beside the small lake, laughing and talking.

Ryth waved his hand at them. "Good morning, Lady Elsa, Azalea," he greeted.

The two female elves turned at his greeting and greeted back.

Ryth smiled as he sat down near Azalea. He then turned his head towards her and asked, "So, did you sleep well last night?"

"Mhm." Azalea nodded, smiling back.

The two of them began to talk with each other, discussing about swordsman' skills and techniques. They completely ignored Lady Elsa, without realizing, who was watching their animated conversation with a soft smile.

Lady Elsa brushed away imaginary dust off her dress as she stood up. She then said, "Alright now. I'll go and help the others to prepare for breakfast, seeing you two being in your own bubble."

Ryth and Azalea jumped at Lady Elsa's teasing. Azalea's face turned crimson, while Ryth just coughed awkwardly.

He then stood up abruptly and said, "Oh sorry. Well, I too will be going off to do my things."

Lady Elsa giggled at his abrupt action. "Yes, yes. You're a busy man," she teased, as she heads back to the camp. She stopped and turned her head, "Now, don't get too carried away that you forgot about everything else!" She then winked cheekily at Azalea.

Azalea pouted. "We won't!"

Lady Elsa just laughed as she continues her way back to the camp.

Ryth scratched the back of his head awkwardly. 'I probably shouldn't have left Lady Elsa out of the conversation,' he thought to himself.

Ryth and Azalea chatted for some time before both of them excused themselves. Ryth turned to washed his face at the small lake while Azalea went back to the camp to help the other elves.

Once Ryth had done with his usual thing, he returned back to the camp, where he met up with Llyod and Hill.

Llyod patted the empty space on the fallen log beside him, inviting Ryth to sit down. They had found few large logs and have used it as their seats.

After Ryth had sat down, Hill passed a plate, filled with foods to him.

Once they were done with breakfast, the male elves joined Ryth, Hill and Llyod to check their equipment. They wanted to see whether they would need to repair their equipment. Fortunately, there weren't much to repair.

Ryth then announced to the rest of the team that they will be going to the fourth floor at 12 o'clock in the afternoon. This gives the others more time to relax and Ryth's {Beyond the Boundary} skill cooldown should be over by then.

Since the skill was useful to beat the final boss, he decided to start off late.

It was already an hour before the clock strikes 12 when Ryth had told the others to pack their things and be prepared.

The team immediately packed their belongings before gathering before the stairs that will lead to the fourth floor. After one more round of checking and preparing, Ryth led the way up the stairs.

Earlier on when they had reached the third floor, they had encountered several monsters on the way down. Thankfully, they managed to defeat the monsters easily with their teamwork.

Once they had arrived at the stairs, they went down to the fourth floor.

On the fourth floor, a heavy sinister aura descended on the floor, making the atmosphere tense, compared to the earlier floors. The floor was slippery wet and the walls were covered with vines. The corridor on the fourth floor was dark, due to the dim torches on the wall.

Ryth was in front of the team, leading the way. With his memories from 'The Throne' and with Daedalus' skill, he managed to retract his steps to a path with less traps and monsters.

After some time, they had finally arrived at a room. It was a foggy room, nothing could be seen from the entrance, so Ryth told the others to stop.

Ryth remembered that this room was very huge, the fog couldn't disappeared even if they try to blow it away with wind element magics.

"Lady Elsa and Azalea, use your perception skills!"

"Mhm!" Azalea and Lady Elsa nodded their heads in unison.

"Daedalus!"

"Right away!" The [Eye of Daedalus] turned red.

Just outside the room, Ryth stopped and told everyone with his team voice chat function. "The fog is really thick. You can't simply blow it away with wind element magic as well. But this can be an advantage to us since it helps to hide us from the monsters."

He then continued, "Everyone, just follow my lead, once we are inside. We have to be very careful to not make any sounds at all."

"Yes!"

They all entered the foggy room where they could only see a few meters ahead of them. However, with Daedalus' skill, Ryth could see the mana emitted from the monsters. Together with the mini map, he could see that there were 20 monsters inside the room. The monsters were separated from each other.

"The monsters are level 40 monsters. This might be tough for us. So we will need to go pass them."

"Yeah, I think so too. It will be hard for us if we fight them inside this thick fog," Daedalus agreed.

With Ryth's instructions, they managed to avoid the traps and monsters.

Few steps later, they finally came closer to the exit of the room. Ryth then turned to everyone and said, "Okay, there's a door near here. And this door has a mechanism so I would need to break this mechanism first."

It seems like Ryth was talking in the party chat function, which reached to the others' minds. Azalea and the others' faces looked confused, wondering how did Ryth's voice get inside their mind. However, Lady Elsa managed to answered back with "How do we open this, then?"

So, although, Lady Elsa and Ryth's voices could be heard, but since they could not use telepathy skill, only Lady Elsa and Ryth can have a conversation.

"I just need everyone to wait here. Just leave it to me," Ryth instructed as he walked to the door.

"Lady Elsa and Azalea, the two of you will lead the team for now and make sure nothing comes near us. If you see any monsters coming in, you guys should avoid it. They won't be able to find us as long as we don't make any sounds."

Because the two of them have perception skills, Ryth decided that they would be the best leaders to lead the team while he's busy with the mechanism.

Azalea and Lady Elsa nodded their heads in unison.

"Daedalus, scan it. If we have a shortcut to open it, just do it."

Ryth remembers the procedure on how to open this door from his memories of 'The Throne'. From what he remembers that in order to break this mechanism was to find this room's core and cut the power. The players could only cut the power and it would be turned off for 30 seconds. The door would then open and the mist would be gone.

Players would need to run to exit this room because the door would automatically close again after 30 seconds and the mist would returned. The room's core was inside the pillar in the center of the room. But there were many traps near it. So it would be really nice if they could break it without the need to take the room's core.

"Roger!"

The [Eye of Deadalus] changed to the scan mode, letting out blue light.

"Hmm. This is the same type as the first dungeon. But we can only cut the power of the core for 30 seconds. There is no shortcut for this type of mechanism."

"I see..." Ryth said. "So, I really need to do that after all," he said softly to himself, sighing.

Ryth changed the mode of [Eye of Daedalus] back to the mana tracer. He then walked back to where the team had gathered. "I found out how to break it. All of you just stay here."

"So, how do you intend to break it?" Lady Elsa asked, curiosity in her question.

"There is a core inside this room. It's inside the pillar in the middle of the room. I only need to cut the core's power, and this fog will be gone. Only then the door will be open. All of you need to stay as near as possible to the door. Once I cut the core's power, run and exit this room. And because this door can only be open for 30 seconds and it will automatically close itself after that."

"But then, how about you, Mr Myrad? I know that there are many traps near the pillar, it will be very dangerous." Lady Elsa asked.

"I'll be just fine. Besides, we couldn't advance forward if we can't get through this room."

Azalea, who was standing beside Ryth, tugged on his clothes.

Ryth turned his head towards her. When he saw the worried look on her face, he patted her head and smiled, "Don't worry."

Azalea looked down, a faint blush could be seen on her cheeks as she answered in a low voice, "Mhm."

The others could only pretend that they didn't see anything as Ryth walked towards the pillar.

In the fog, he walked slowly without making any sound. Once he got near the pillar, he skillfully avoided the traps with the help of [Eye of Daedalus] scanning skill and his memories.

He let Daedalus use his hands as Daedalus scanned the pillar and began to disassemble the mechanism that protected the room's core.

"Ready, partner?"

"Anytime."

"Okay!" Daedalus cut the power and suddenly, the fog disappeared. The door opened as the team ran towards the exit. The monsters' gazes all landed at Ryth who was still in the middle of the room.

"Here we go again." Ryth started running, jumping at the floors that would triggered the traps. Once he had passed the area with the traps, he sped up. But then, three monsters ran towards him; it was 3 gnolls with their hatchets and shields. They immediately blocked Ryth's path.

Ryth advanced forward towards the first gnoll, which was hacking its hatchet. Ryth unsheathed [Ryuujin's Will], spinning to the left to avoid the hatchet and slashed his sword to the back of the gnoll's neck. Blood gushed out from it as it screamed in pain, but then the second gnoll also hacked its hatchet, aiming for Ryth's left shoulder.

Ryth calmly spun to the right side and kicked it on its left waist. The gnoll got thrown to the side. Ryth looked ahead but then the last gnoll jumped near Ryth from his front. Ryth immediately used {Deflect} to block its hatchet as he slides under the gnoll which was in mid air. He successfully passed the 3 gnolls and ran further.

The pillar and the door had around roughly 200 meters from each other. Ryth had already ran 50 meters with other gnolls chasing Ryth from the other side. They tried to attack Ryth with their hatchets, but Ryth unsheathed [Vengeance] and blocked all of their attacks skillfully.

When he was already only 100 meters away, there was only 15 seconds left. Just then when there were 6 gnolls blocking his way at the front, Ryth shouted, "Azalea!"

Azalea instantly understood him. With a serious look on her face, she cast her barriers.

{Water Barrier}!

Many barriers appeared in front of Ryth, who jumped onto the barriers one after another. The gnolls could only saw Ryth from below. On the last barrier, Ryth jumped again and sheathed both of his swords. He rolled when he landed on the floor and advanced forward, a golden light glowed on his body.

'STR +10'

'AGI +10'

'INT +10'

Lady Elsa had cast a buff skill on Ryth. Ryth's speed rose up. After that, she blocked the gnolls path with her skills.

He kept running at high speed. He then saw 2 four meters tall giants waiting for him in the front. One of the giants swung its club at Ryth, but before it landed on Ryth, he had already jumped backwards.

"BOOM!"

When the club had landed on floor, Ryth began advancing again, climbing on the club and jumped again. He swiftly landed on the giant's right shoulder. The giant wanted to grab Ryth with its right hand, but then, the other giant had swung its club to where Ryth stood.

Ryth jumped and used the giant's head as a step to jump further to land on the other giant's left shoulder. The club hit the first giant's head, making it fall to the ground. Ryth managed to land on the giant's shoulder where he hurriedly jumped again and rolled when he touched the floor.

"Hurry! The door will be closed in 10 seconds!" Azalea shouted.

Ryth was only 20 meters away. He immediately activated {Fast Steps} and just when the door was about to close, he slides on the floor.

"WHOOSH!"

"BAM!" the door closed with a loud sound.

"Fuh, I made it in time." Ryth heaved a sigh of relief as he stood up, wiping the dust on his trousers.

"That was really dangerous, you know! If you were late for just half a second, you will be trapped inside that room!"

Ryth turned his head to the origin of the voice and grinned confidently. "Well, I did managed to escape, didn't I? No worries."

Azalea heaved a sigh of relief, shaking her head in bemusement, "As long as you're okay."

"Are you alright, Mr. Myrad?" Lady Elsa asked in concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you for your help earlier. It really helped me. You too, Azalea, you saved me there."

"Yes, but it will be really bad if you unable to escape from there."

Ryth nodded and turned his head at the others. "Alright, lets go! We'll be heading towards the boss' room!"

They walked for some time where they took the safest path. When they reached the boss room, Ryth opened the door.

Torches lit up inside the room when the team entered. Inside, they saw a creature holding a spear in the middle of the room. It gushed out a dark mana flow when Ryth changed the [Eye of Daedalus] to mana tracer mode.

"It's the same as in 'The Throne'." Ryth thought to himself.

"Let's do this," Ryth said as he unsheathed [Vengeance] and [Ryuujin's Will], then he put [Blue Heart] on his mouth.
