Secrets and Trump Cards

Natasha and Gianluigi exchanged glances and a few words via telepathy, resulting in them coming to a consensus. They decided to ignore the matter of the spatial mage, much to Palmer's chagrin and asked Will to explain the battle in detail. Will obliged and told them everything he could.

He glossed over certain details regarding the skills and abilities they used, but he was still able to cover the main points of what they did. There were obvious inconsistencies in his story, but it was clear that Solitary had no intention of explaining them.

Team Solitary had been forced to use many of their trump cards. Hence they would explain certain parts in ways such as "I then used a secret skill to connect our minds and increase our battle harmony." Such ambiguous descriptions were still the 'truth' but it was difficult for Natasha and Gianluigi to argue against Will's actions as many Truthseekers were forced to do the same. Very few people were willing to let others know about their trump cards.

Instead of asking him to clear up those inconsistencies, they were more concerned with the issue of the loot. Palmer with a glint in his eye, indicated that there was something he wanted to say, but glances from Natasha kept him quiet.

Will observed these subtle exchanges in silence and pretended that he could not see anything.

Both groups revealed the loot they had gotten from their respective bosses. Even though Will had lost 3 pieces of valuable loot, his loot was still of greater value than what Natasha and Gianluigi had obtained

According to what was agreed upon at the beginning of the mission, Peerless Camp had the priority of picking what they wanted from the Loot, with the caveat of them having to report what they had picked to Odysseus, who was there to make sure that Loot distribution was fair for the others. This meant that aside from Peerless and Odysseus, no one else knew the entire score from the dungeon.

Since the Solitary persona was Peerless' representative, Will, acting as Solitary, had the right to act on Peerless' behalf and choose the rewards he wanted. From the Agonised Banshee loot, Will chose only two rewards.

The other pieces of loot were valuable, but unfortunately, they were not useful to Will at the moment.

Thanks to Odin and Modus by his side, Will had a good idea of the rewards one would receive when defeating the major bosses of this dungeon. Will had already discussed with the other deities on which loot he should focus on.

'One down, two to go.'

Will had been asked to collect three drops in particular from this dungeon. One of which was the Duality Split Skill Book.

The Duality Split Skill Book was arguably the most valuable loot from the entire dungeon. SS skills were so incredibly rare one might not even find one if they searched ten thousand middle worlds. Letty's Soul regalia was an SS+ rated skill, it was 1 sublevel above Duality Split, while Colossus Criterion Thesaurus was an SSS-rated skill. The very fact that Will had 3 such skills within his squad was a fact that would shake the minds of many users.

High-tier skills were not easy to learn, however. They had strict requirements on their casters and often required one to have a talent in one vessel, one higher sense and at least one constitution or physique of some sort.

When it came to skills, compatibility was just as important as rarity. In Odin's opinion, Will no longer needed to learn any more skills or spells, but rather, he only needed to learn one more skill that allowed him to properly utilize all the skills he possessed.

Will's current dilemma was how to utilize both his warrior skills and his mage skills at the same time without reducing his battle prowess. Dual mind was a great skill, allowing him to multitask to superb degrees, but he still only had one body.

Even if two lakes come together to provide water for a crowd of people, it would be pointless if there was only one faucet from which the water could come out. However if one could create as many faucets as they wished, then the issue would be solved. Duality Split was precisely the method to increase the amount of faucets!

According to Wodin, Will did not need to use the skill as was originally intended, instead, Wodin suggested that Will limit himself to splitting his body only once. One body would be for his mage skills while the other would be for his warrior skills.

According to how Duality Split worked, both bodies would possess 50% of the original's abilities and talents, but Wodin argued that this was more than enough as Will was already quite talented in multiple fields. One's mental strength also affects the performance of each body as well. The greater the quality of one's Mind, the more strength they could bring out from each body.

Thus Duality Split was crucial for Will's future plans. He no longer had to split his cultivation time between mage arts and warrior arts and could cultivate both at the same time. As a practitioner who could use mana and qi freely, this was the best news for Will. This coupled with his now strengthened mind thanks to undergoing training and the addition of Invictus, Will's path in cultivation had essentially been set in stone.

The Dragon Blood on the other hand was a treasure Will had collected by his own volition. It was useful in his plans for the future. The point of this trip was to strengthen his understanding of divinity, anti-divinity, the Dao of Madness, the Realms of Perspective, and consolidate his foundational skills such as mental energy fields, concepts and the death attribute. Gaining Narcissus' divinity helped him in not only understanding divine energy but also anti-divinity as well. Strengthening his mental energy field and gaining Invictus greatly improved his understanding of the Realms of Perspective as perspective grew each time he had a better understanding of the mind. All that was left for Will to cover was the Dao of Madness and his technical understanding of Intent.

Narcissus and Jingsung still had quite a bit to teach Will in regards to Intent, but most of this education was on how to utilize his Empyrean Intents!
