Day 29

Little Tommy Tucker

Sings for his supper.

What shall we give him?

Brown bread and butter.

How shall he cut it

Without a knife?

How will he be married

Without a wife?

Danny had this nursery rhyme stuck in her head. And bad enough she had to work for the real Thomas Tucker PHdork.

She hated her shifts when they were paired with his turn at the hospital.

He was a conceited jerk who thought he was gods gift to women and she ended up running her ass of when he was here.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday and she would not see him again for three weeks.

"Nurse Danielle please input these charts into the computer for me." Thomas said handing her a few files.

"Yes, Doctor." She smiled.

"And Mr. Clinton in room 110 needs a dressing changed. Page me if you need me. I'll be in my office catching up on files." He said.

"Ok." Danny said.

She sure hoped that her Tommy Tucker was different she could not wait for her Sunday picnic with him.

Thomas walked to if office. He had made up his mind to cancel the ridiculous date he made with little bo peep. What was he thinking going on a blind date.

They should of joined a real site with photos of the girls. He shook his head.

He wanted to find a girl like Nurse Danielle. He loved working with her and would try to get shifts that matched hers. She was smart and kind but with all this time he had trouble getting closer to her.

He started his charting and updating files while he would think of a way to get closer to his crush.

Kimmy was writing down her research notes for the new case Mr. Henderson had. He was one of the lawyer she helped out often. When she was done she put the book back where it belonged.

Jack walked in as she slid the book back in place. "What are you working on?"

She jumped at the sound of his voice. "I'm helping Mr. Henderson on the Jenkins case."

"Let me see what you have." He took her notes and looked through them.

'Why is he always picking on me' she thought to herself.

He stood up and walked over and got a book down. "Look through the Noland case it will help with this." He handed her the book.

"Yes sir."

"Can I ask you a question?" he said.

"Yes"

"Should a guy bring flowers on a first date or not?" He asked.

"Depends, is it a blind date or someone you have known?"

"Blind date."

"Then bring Yellow rose with ivy this means : joy, friendship, the promise of a new beginning. Then if you choose to continue the relationship then other flowers would be sent later."

"Thanks, You do good work here. Keep it up." He said as he left.

'This was a strange man indeed.' she thought to herself.

Lillian woke in her husband arms. A baby with this man. She shook his head.

She had made up her mind to trust him now no matter what. She wanted a whole family and he had proven himself to her and she needed to stop running to protect her self.

When she pulled away to go to the bathroom he woke up. "Morning Beautiful."

"Good Morning." she smiled.

"Lets get dressed and head down to breakfast so we can give Pop the good news." He said.

"You did not tell him last night?"

"Now you were sleeping and this needs to be together."

They got cleaned up. He put on some jeans and a pullover. She put on a yellow sundress.

As they head down they hear Pop talking as he walked out the patio doors.

"Dear, what would you like for breakfast today?" he said.

"Pancakes with strawberries and cream."

"Ok, that what you always want."

"That's cause it good daddy."

As they set down Jake and Lillian walk out.

"Good your up. Anything you want for breakfast?" Pop asked.

"The pancakes sounded good." Lillian said.

"I'll just have eggs and bacon with toast." Jake answered.

The maid left with the order.

"Pop, Mom... We want to tell you some thing." Jake said taking Lillian hand.

"What is it?" Pop asked.

"Lillian and I are having a baby."

"Baby?" Jakes mom said perking up.

"I knew it would not take long a great grandchild. I'll get to hold my great grandchild." Pop slapped his grandson on the back.

"Can I see the baby?" Jakes mother asked.

"Not for a few months. It has to grown in Lillian tummy first." Pop said.

"She really is a child again." Jake said.

"Yes, the pills messed with her mind. But at least she can function now."

"Mom, when the baby is born you can hold it." Lillian said.

This made her smile. She liked babies.

After Breakfast Jake drove Lillian to shop of baby things.

"Do we need to do this now we still have 9 months to go what if something happens?" Lillian said.

"Ok... I'm just excited. So what do you want to do today."

"I need to go to work. The Board meeting is tomorrow and I need to be ready."

"My wife the work alcoholic. Ok lets go."

"Don't you need to change?" she asked.

"Nope, today will be casual Thursday." He winked at her.

She just rolled her eyes.

She spent the rest of the time at work getting things together with her team for tommarow meeting.

Jake and Zane went over the document and agenda for meeting. He was impressed by what his little wife was doing. She had missed her calling and he needed to convince her to stay with the company.

He knew her vacation time was up soon and she would go back to working two jobs.

He was looking at baby things and had ordered a new bedroom set. The crib turned into a toddler bed then into a full size bed. It came with two dressers, a changing table, a toy box, and a rocking chair.

He clicked order. His wife was going to be surprised. Just as he finished she walked into the office. He quickly closed his computer and had a look of guilt on his face.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

He just grinned, "Ready to leave?"

She shook her head. He bought something for the baby she just knew it.
