Spring for Two.

Arriving at the palace, he asked a servant to get them a room prepared. Since most of the people did not know of their relationship, the servant was shocked at first, but still did as he was told and prepared for one room instead of two.

When Lily woke up, she was lying in Chen's embrace. The room looked different from Chen's home.

Searching through her memories, she tried to remember how she got to this point.

All she remembered last was being in the garden! Nothing happened, right?

"You awake? Are you still tired?" Chen's voice sounded above.

Lily quickly covered her face, but Chen still saw her bright red ears and laughed.

"Stop staring at me!" Lily exclaimed. "Did I drool?"

"I've seen everything already..." Chen paused, "...almost every-"

His voice was quickly cut off by the pillow thrown at him.

"If you say any further, I'll kill you!" This was the palace; it was not as private as his home!

Chen stopped his teasing and pulled her back down into his arms. "Ok ok."

After getting her revenge, Lily calmed down and obediently laid in his arms. "So what are we going to do now?"

"Stay here for the night? It's almost dinner time. His majesty invited us for dinner." Chen answered.

She had no rejections as it was an invitation from the king. "Then what should I do tomorrow? You are going to work."

He looked down at her and smiled. "Are you lonely?"

"No, I was wondering if I should leave for your house first or stay."

She's not honest.

"I will ask him for some time off." Chen stroked her hair.

Lily looked up with a frown. "Do your work! You can't keep asking for days off whenever you feel like it."

"But I can."

She gave him a sigh and then lowered her face. "Do what you want. Don't come to me when you get fired."

He gave her a small chuckle. "Wash up. Let's go eat."

Lily quickly ran to the bathroom when she heard the word "eat."

The food in the palace is especially delicious!

___________

When they reached the dining hall, the King and Queen had already sat down. Chen and Lily quickly greeted the two. Lily sat next to Anne, and Chen followed her.

"My-my." Anne covered her mouth.

"Why are you suddenly sitting over there, Chen?"

Chen had always sat next to him; why did he suddenly decide to sit there?

"Can't I sit where ever I want? No rule said I had to sit next to you."

"..."

The king just stared at him dumbfounded. While it's, true was just odd, and he dared to give attitude.

Anne nudged her husband. "You fool! They are together now!"

"What?!" The king reflexively stood up.

What?! To think there was a girl who was okay with this block of ice!? Chen won't be dying as a single man!

"So dear, he's no longer single, stop making him work so hard." Anne protested. "He needs to spend time with his wife!"

"I told him to go on a vacation, but he refused! This fool, he has someone now, and he dares to make her go through this?!" The king sighed.

Lily cupped her face turning immediately red. This is getting quite out of hand.

Amongst this fiasco, Chen just sat there silently paying attention to only Lily.

She was adorable. Beautiful. Adorable. Every single angle, even her side profile. He didn't understand how she could be so cute.

After seeing her show a meek look, he felt that he had troubled her enough and shot a glance at the others coldly.

The king felt instantly felt it and cleared his throat. "Bring out the dishes."

Food slowly appeared on the table.

Seeing Lily's face happy again, Chen finally sported a relaxed look.

"Here, you can have mine. You like this, right?" Chen put more on her plate before eating his.

Lily responded with an, "En!" and quickly ate it.

He automatically gave her a smile in return. "Eat more. You're too skinny."

She frowned. "But I thought you said I eat too much!"

"Too much sweets."

'This man is smitten.' Both the king and queen thought.

The king's judgment was wrong. There was really a certain someone made for everyone — patience was the key!

The two were both fed with immense dog food and wanted to throw up.

After dinner, they all had tea; that's when the interrogation started.

It was hard not to ask! This was one of the most influential people in the palace, after all!

Chen and Lily sat opposite from the king and queen by the window, looking like two children getting lectured for causing trouble.

The king started first.

Forgetting his position, he excitedly asked like a young maiden in love, "So? When did this happen?!"

"Dear, It was two days ago. You weren't present when we talked about this." Anne answered him. "She came back here before the festival even began." She briefly paused to sip her tea, "if that's so, they were probably attracted to each other around then."

"But isn't it a little too quick? Are you sure you like him, lady Lily?" The king doubted them. This is too good to be true. Chen never showed signs of any interest in girls for as long as he knew him. He even thought maybe guys were his preference!

"I confessed first." Chen sounded. " I didn't know exactly when but surely before these past weeks."

"If you don't say!" the king laughed. "To think you would and first at that! You are not the man I once knew!"

Lily looked at him, surprised. "My! It's like that?" She didn't think he would be so honest.

Chen shot the king a glance.

The king averted his glare. Hmph. I am a king, did you forget?! What a proud man!

"Then you?" Anne said sternly, not letting her get out of it.

"I-I honestly don't know." Lily was silent, then finally spoke. "But I know he's a nice person, and I am attracted to him." She looked at Chen. "If I don't do anything, how would I know if he is or isn't the one for me."

Chen looked at her, and his eyes formed a smile. At least she didn't reject him.

Lily returned his gaze. The two were in their own little world.

"..." Both the king and queen sighed at each other and admitted defeat. They were eating dog food again.

"I shall give my blessings to the two of you." The king said helplessly. "I wish for a wedding soon!"

"Dear! Don't say that so soon. You'll make them uncomfortable!" Anne grimaced at her husband. "What if this discouraged them!"

"Oh? Will it really?" The king said sarcastically. He turned to look at the two in front of him.

Lily put her hand on her face and bashfully said. "Well I do expect to be wedded, but I just don't know when we will."

"WHAT?" Both the king and Anne replied in unison.

Chen just sat there sipping his tea in silence.

They shift their attention to Chen and then back at Lily.

"You see....he sort of proposed to me as well." Lily squealed.

"WHAT?" This man is faster than they thought! Striking the iron while it's hot and tying a beautiful woman down!

"What?" Chen retorted calmly. "Is there a problem?"

"...nothing." They grasped their chest and let out a huge sigh. How does one take all this at once? My heart is too weak.

Chen was becoming more and more different.

So the laws of love had also the power to change a stone-cold man.

"Well, we are together. It is only natural I plan for the long term." Chen said as if it was the most innate thing in the world. His tone made all of them in the room sounded like idiots.

"Y-yes you are right." The king agreed.

They all talked about their lives and how Chen and Lily got to be together.

Since it was already late, the king decided that they needed to rest for the night.
