Chapter 11: Talent

The dressing room was bustling as the boys were getting ready to appear on America's Got Talent. They were all in really nice suits, like the ones in their new music video and several people were making sure their hair and faces were perfect. I was wandering around and checking on all of them seeing if they needed water or anything, since I was already dressed. Jungkook spoke up to one of the stylists and said, "Hey, do Fay-noona's hair and makeup too." "Oh, I'm fine." I said, waving my hands in a "no" motion. He gave me a dead pan stare.

Then, Hoseok intervened, "Fay, remember I said you deserved the dress I bought you for today. You deserve to get your hair and makeup done too." Jimin and Taehyung each took one of my arms and pulled me into the stylists chair. She gave me a once over and went to work. She pulled my hair into a half up-do and curled it with a few strands pulled down to frame my face. She applied natural makeup with a bit of silver eye shadow and highlighter on my cheeks to go with the sparkly bodice of my dress.

She moved away from me and I automatically smiled at my reflection in the mirror. I looked so different, beautiful even. I almost didn't recognize myself. It looked like most of the boys had the same reaction. All had stopped what they were doing and were staring at me. Jimin and Taehyung were still behind me but both stood there with wide eyes and Tae was blushing again. Namjoon walked up next to them and said, "Wow, Fay. You look gorgeous." "Thanks." I said, shyly, not used to that kind of compliment from him.

"It's time for me to go out to the audience." I said, getting up and leaving them all stunned in the dressing room. I walked down the hall and around the corner to where the studio was. I was to sit in the front row of the audience, just to the side of where the judges would be sitting. Being that it was a results show, there would be performances before they announced who was moving on to the next round. I looked around and noticed I was sitting near a lot of famous people. I suddenly felt awkward, I wasn't someone that important.

I was just getting settled in my seat when the show was starting. The judges were talking about the remaining acts and who they thought would be staying. Then I heard Tyra start talking about BTS and she announced them as the studio lights dimmed. There were definitely a lot of fans in the audience because as soon as the lights went down, all I heard was screaming. The stage lit back up in various colors, showing the boys posed and ready to start. My heart leapt with excitement and I couldn't wait to hear them perform their new song, IDOL.

The first few traditional Korean sounding notes started and I smiled. The boys started dancing and singing as the screams kept going. The celebrities around me looked very entertained and that made me proud of BTS. Several of us were singing along, already having learned the lyrics despite the song being released only a short time ago. I was even doing bits of the dance in my seat. The boys looked like they were having the time of their lives. They finished and I screamed as loud as I could, giving in to being a fan girl this time.

Later, they went for an interview with Tyra and I stayed in the audience to watch the rest of the results show. It was a fun experience since I had always been in the background of things my entire life. I was definitely experiencing a lot of new things thanks to BTS. After about an hour, they finally announced the results and the show was over. I left my seat and went back to meet the boys in the dressing room. This time though, I was stopped by security.

"Miss, you can't go back there." The security guard said, putting an arm out to block me. "Um, I was just back there earlier. I'm a friend who's on tour with them." I said. "That's what all they say, sweetie." He said, unamused. I sighed and pulled my phone out, texting Jungkook to tell him what was happening. A few seconds later, Jin came out and grabbed me from the other side of the security guard saying, "She's with us." in an abrupt tone. "Thanks for the rescue." I said, laughing slightly at how he reacted and the fact that Jungkook knew sending Jin was the best idea.

Jungkook was waiting on the other side of the door when we walked in. "I thought it was best to send Jin, since he won't take any nonsense." He said. I nodded, knowing that was exactly the reason he sent Jin to get me. I sat on the couch next to Yoongi and Taehyung. "You guys looked great up there. You looked like you were having so much fun." I said with a grin on my face. "It was a lot of work. Now, it's nap time." Yoongi said, head falling against the arm rest. I snickered and looked over at Taehyung and saw he had a blank expression. I remembered our conversation that night on the balcony and knew he must be thinking abut his grandma.

"She definitely saw this show in heaven and would be proud of you." I said quietly, hugging his shoulder to me. He just nodded through tear brimmed eyes but managed to give me a small smile. I stayed leaning against his shoulder, knowing that the friendly contact would be comforting. Everyone else was getting ready to go back to the hotel. I was growing tired of my hair being up, so I pulled out all the pins and let it all fall out. I ruffled it a bit but the curls were still there. "You still look pretty." Jin said, sounding like a dad despite the fact that I was older.

Their manager came a short time later and said the van was ready to take us all back to hotel. It had been a long day and I fell asleep in the van sitting in the back between Jimin and Jungkook. Before I knew it, Jimin was gently shaking me awake. "Fay-noona, we are back at the hotel." He said. I sleepily got out of the van, trudging into the hotel and my room. I was so tired, that I fell asleep wearing my fancy dress and didn't even say goodnight to the boys like I always did.
