Kristine's House
"Wake up! Kristine wake up now or else.... Don't make me go their upstairs and wake you up!" Her mom shouted from below.
Kristine woke up from another set of sermon. She lazily stood upright from her bed.
What a way to start a morning, she told herself.
Kristine walked down to have a breakfast with her parents and as she arrived in the dining table she was welcomed by another sermon.
"You always wake up late! You are so lazy. You don't even need to cook in here and yet you dare to be lazy! You are so spoiled! I don't want a daughter who is like you!"
Kristine wasn't even hurt about the words anymore as she grew immune to her mom's sermon and hurtful words.
Her mom said much more hurtful ones when she was young.... Her mom didn't even bother to ask if she had enough sleep. Then, her mom started doing a long sermon by recalling all the mistakes she did in the past as if she just did those a minute ago.
She just let her mind drift as she tries to recall what she needs to do today.
As her mind drifted... her mom was getting more angry for the lack of response.
"Are you even listening to me?"
She was taken back with her question. She replied "yes" without even looking at her mom's direction.
Although she was surprised by her moms sudden inquiry, she didn't let it show on her face. She has mastered the poker face for a long time. On the other hand, she didnt lie. Although she wasnt paying attention, it doesnt mean that she cant hear her mom's hateful words
She tried to finish her breakfast as fast as she can. Then because her mom doesn't seem like she would let this matter go. She was hesitant to bring the plates to the kitchen. However, her brother who soon saw this took an initiative to stand up and brought his plate to the kitchen. This was a signal of him helping her to get out of the situation.
She had a good relationship with her brother named John. He is close to her enough to he detached yet protective.
She hurriedly followed his brothers que and left the table to prepare to take a bath and leave the house as soon as she can.
After taking a bath she hurriedly put on clothes and didnt even bother looking at the mirror.
She didnt like what she looks like and she didnt want to be bothered by it.
Thinking it was going to be another day of torment... she braced herself for the impact as she go to a much bigger battle.
Her school.
