three

Okay, you were ready to see the sights of Seoul at night.

~ ♡ ~

You took the elevator back down, making your way thru the lobby to head back out to the busy streets.

"Enjoy your evening." The desk attendant smiled as you made your way to the exit. You gave him a small wave and pushed thru the door.

Back outside, you looked around, not sure which way to go. You looked left, then right, and decided to go back the way you'd come from when you walked here. After walking a few blocks, you could see colorful lights in the distance, so you headed in that direction. You walked with your eyes downcast, letting the small crowd carry you, because you didn't want to appear rude by unintentionally staring at someone.

You weren't sure how many blocks you'd gone but when you finally looked up, you froze, speechless. The beauty that stretched out in front of you was like nothing you had ever seen. Rows of trees loaded with cherry blossoms stretched along the sidewalk. Twinkling orbs of light, each one a different color, hung from the branches. It was breathtaking. You walked a bit more, still in wonder that such a sight existed. Finally, you made your way to an empty bench, and sat, looking up in a trance, thankful that you'd been given the opportunity to experience this. You could sit here for hours.

"They're beautiful, aren't they?"

You jumped at the voice coming from your left. Your hand came up to your chest to cover your suddenly pounding heart, as you looked at the man now sitting next to you.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He smiled at you, and the first thing you noticed were his dimples. They were adorable.

"No...I...It's my fault. I was just admiring the cherry blossoms and forgot that I wasn't alone here."

He nodded. "It's happens a lot to visitors seeing it for the first time."

He was definitely Korean, but he spoke english very well, with a strong Korean accent. He looked to be around your age. He was cute, but didn't look like most of the other guys you'd seen so far in your age group. His hair was a sandy brown color, instead of the common black that seemed to be most prevalent here.

"My name is Namjoon, Kim Namjoon." He stuck his hand out, and you hesitantly shook it.

"I'm Y/n L/n, nice to meet you." You recalled reading that in Korea, last names came first. So, his name was Namjoon. You would have assumed that had you not read it, simply by how he introduced himself.

"Are you here on vacation?"

You hesitated only slightly before answering, deciding that it would be nice to maybe make a friend. Your first thought was that you don't know him at all, but then you realized you don't know anybody. That was the whole point of you coming here.

"Uh, Sort of...maybe, not really..." you took a breath, part of you wanting to tell this stranger everything that had led up to you being here, because he didn't know you, and had no reason to judge you. But you didn't want to scare him away. It was nice having someone to talk to.

"Sort of...maybe...not really? So, you might be on vacation, but, not really?" He raised one eyebrow at you.

You had to laugh. It did sound funny. "It's a long story. And probably a boring one that you'd rather not hear. I'll spare you the agony."

He smiled kindly at you.

"Honestly, I'd love to hear your story. I'm a good listener, I promise." You glanced at him, feeling a need to let it out, but having a sense of uncertainty. "Please, let me help. I bet you'll feel better after talking about it."

You probably would. You shifted your position, curling one leg underneath you, and turning slightly towards him.

"Are you sure? If you get bored, you'll tell me to stop, right?"

He smiled widely. Those dimples should come with a warning. "Cross my heart. The second I feel boredom taking over, I will inform you immediately."

You gave him a small smile, feeling at ease for some reason. "Okay, but I'm warning you, it's really pathetic."

He nodded, signaling you to continue. You sat there for close to an hour, as you told him everything that had gone on in your life from 5 years back till now. Well... almost everything. You left out the bad sex part, cause, well...no one wants to hear about that.

He was a very good listener, very attentive, keeping his eyes on you at all times. He looked worried for you, but not in a pitying kind of way. You sensed genuine concern. He made you feel safe. You were glad he had encouraged you to talk about it. By the time you were finished, he was grinning at you.

"I admire you."

You snorted. "What? Why?"

"It takes a lot of courage to do what you did. You're strong, and you might not know it yet, but you're going to be just fine."

You ducked your head, not used to receiving such compliments. "Thank you."

"Where are you staying? I'd be happy to walk you to your hotel when you're ready to head back."

That was a good question. You didn't even know the name of the hotel. "Um, I'm not sure...I, uh, didn't pay attention." You made a face, thinking how stupid could you be.

"Do you have your key card?"

Oh my god, he was a genius. "Yes, I do." You pulled your phone out of your back pocket, and slid the key card out of the slot. He took it, reading the name of the hotel.

"I know right where this is, we aren't to far. You just let me know when you're ready to head back, and I'll walk with you."

"Thank you. But I don't know how soon I'll be ready, so if you need to go, please, don't wait around on my account. I fell asleep on the plane, so I'm not tired at all right now."

He shook his head. "I'm good. I like the night time, I'm usually out and about now."

You sat in silence for a few minutes. Suddenly he perked up. "Hey, do you like video games?"

"Sure I do. I'm a Mario bros master."

"Oh my God..." he groaned, "I know someone you'd get along with perfectly."

You questioned him with a look, but he waved it off. "Not yet. In time. You okay with walking some?"

You nodded. "Sure. I've got nothing better to do."

"Good, come on then." He grabbed your hand, pulling you up, and leading you back the way you'd come from. After a couple blocks, he made a turn, and shortly after, another turn. You walked for another 5 minutes, your hand still in his, and finally, you came to a stop outside what appeared to be an arcade. He smiled. "Good, they're here."

"Hmm?" You peered in thru the glass, able to just make out two guys in the distance, battling each other at a video game.

"Taehyung and Jimin...I was hoping they'd be here."

He pulled you inside, yelling something you didn't understand as you made your way thru the aisle.

As you reached the two men, the captor of your hand yelled again.

"Jimin-ssi...Taehyung-ssi..."

Both of them turned quickly, as if to acknowledge that they had heard him, then just as quickly turned back. But seconds later, they both turned again, slowly this time, and their gazes fell onto you. You internally shrank, trying to get behind Namjoon, but he tugged on your hand, not allowing it.

"Guys, don't be rude. Come say hi." They both jerked their heads to him, a look of complete shock on their faces.

You stood there, feeling like an intruder. You looked at the two of them thru lowered eyelids, taking the opportunity to do so while they were focused on their friend, and your breath caught in your throat. One had blond hair, the other red. The blond was a bit shorter, and kinda hot. But the red head...holy shit, breathe, before you pass out. Let's just say, he was breathtakingly handsome. You felt like that didn't even do him justice.

Namjoon glanced at you. "You okay?"

"Yeah, why?" You answered, maybe a little to breathlessly.

"You just whispered to yourself."

"What?" You were mortified.

"You just reminded yourself to breathe so you don't pass out." He smiled crookedly at you.

You let out a small laugh, and wished you were dead.

"O...oh..." you said quietly, your voice shaking. "Oh my God..."

He chuckled at you, leaning close to your ear. "Taehyung usually has that effect on women."

He tugged on your hand and pulled you closer. "Guys, this is y/n, she's here from New York. Y/n, this here is Jimin, and the red head there is Taehyung."

Holy fuck. He was absolutely gorgeous. You silently thanked the dart gods for allowing your poorly thrown dart to stick where it did. You had never seen such perfection in your life. He couldn't be real.

Then he spoke.
