Chapter 1- Karina and Selena

"So, you heard about what happened?" A young man with blond hair said, while keeping an eye on his blade. It was dark, and the wind started to blow hard on his face.

"Yeah." said by the vagrant poet, no other than Granger. It was a coincidence that they crossed ways. It can't be helped.

"We can't trust those who are from the Abyss." Alucard said. The moon started to show. It was a full moon tonight. Surely, something bad will happen in the future.

"We are demon hunters, after all." Granger said. They looked at each other and sneered.

On the other hand, in the Land of Dawn, there was an announcement. One that is so important that anyone would stop and listen to know what it is.

"There will be a truce between all nations in the Land of Dawn. For a time being, we will accept anyone, even those who are from the Abyss, to enter in the Land of Dawn. We discourage any sort of fights and arguments and hopefully, everyone will comply to this. We are hoping to settle this once and for all. Thank you for taking the time to listen."

Everyone seems to be thinking about something, and most of it is similar, 'Is this even gonna work?' Lots of war happened before. How bad can this be if it didn't manage to work out? It would mean another war. Maybe the higher ups managed to talk with those from the Abyss. But why would they even agree to a ceasefire? It is odd. Tomorrow will be the day, demons will be accepted in the Land of Dawn. What would it turn out? We will see.

The day after...

"Ding-dong." She giggled. Setting foot in the Land of Dawn as a normal being seems kind of exciting for her. She came from the South of the Moniyan Empire, where lies the bottomless abyss. She is Selena. Sometimes, she knew she had been here. She dreamt about it. Thinking about it just make her head ache, but who knows what she'll find out here?

She looked around, there were lots of trees and shrubs, and the sun was shining brightly above. Further, if she keep going, she will be able to see civilization. On the right side, it will be the Moon Elves territory, on the left side, it will be the Dark Elves territory. She didn't particularly like the sun, so she went to sit under the shade of a tall tree. Selena decided to close her eyes and rest for a while.

An hour or so...

"Selena? Is that you?" Someone said with a bewildered voice. It was familiar, one that she dreamt of. She opened her eyes and saw a Night Elf holding a pair of moonshadow blades.

"Who are you?" Selena said. She doesn't know this girl in front of her, but something tells her heart that it was okay to trust this Night Elf. It was odd.

"I'm.. Karina...but you seemed to had forgotten about me... I'm your sister." the Night Elf said.

"Really?" Selena giggled. "No wonder you're strangely familiar to me. Though I don't know about that, I can't recollect any memories of you."

Selena was shocked when Karina suddenly hugged her. "I've been looking for you for so long.. I'd never thought I will see you here in all places." She felt warmt in her cold heart.

"I really don't know what to say." Selena confessed, while hugging her sister back. After a short while, they were comfortably talking to each other. They both sat under the shade of the tree.

"What are you doing here?" Karina asked.

"Well, I was about to go to the Land of Dawn, but I felt too lazy to walk in this heat." Selena said.

Karina's face look grim for a while. "It's dangerous. I've heard that there were a lot of demon hunters that disagreed with the truce."

"I don't really mind if they hunt me, it's not like they can kill me. That sounds fun though! It will be a bloody mess~" Selena giggled.

"Are you serious?" Karina sighed. Her little sister can be pretty naughty, as she was before. "I have to accompany her." she thought.

"Yes!! But it is still hot, so why not we stay here for a while? I guess we can talk about stuff and all that." Selena said.

"I... really am sorry for not being able to save you.. I tried... but it wasn't enough." Karina's voice broke. She tried to put on a tough face, though the eyes are said to be the windows to the soul. It was deep, sadness and regret, longing, can be seen. It was a pain of being away from each other for too long.

"It's all in the past, isn't it? We're together now." Selena said calmly, but she seems to be lost in her own thoughts, too.

"I know.. I just can't believe that you're really here. I thought you're already dead.." Karina said.

"So, how were you doing through all this years?" Selena asked her sister, Karina.

Karina shook her head. "Truth be told, I've been hunting demons and bandits. No one can escape my moonshadow blades."

Bandits were those people who became the outcasts of society in the Land of Dawn. They are bad people. They are divided into two categories, the first one are the typical bandits who are just rogue, while the other are wolves in sheep clothing, blending in the society. Some become targets of assassinations.

"I see, will you kill me because I'm a demon now?" Selena joked. Karina eyes soften to her sister. "Of course not. Why would I do that!" Karina said.

Selena giggled. "We have a lot of catching up to do, then."

They talked to each other for hours, not minding the time. It was not long before

the sun began to descend below the horizon and the light of the day slowly fades. They both watched it together, a comfortable silence took over them.

"We better get going, Karina! It's getting dark already~" Selena said as she ran suddenly to the middle path.

Karina, being alarmed, stood and ran after her sister. She heard a giggle, into which Karina tsked.

The trees and shrubs began to look eerie.

Over time, the shadows were swallowed by the encroaching darkness.

In the gathering gloom, the stars and the moon shone brighter in the sky, as if to remind us that even in the darkness there is light.

It is a day where two sisters were finally reunited.
