Bullet 3 : Free

An eerie silence covered the dimly lit hallway, cold and unfriendly atmosphere filled the whole mansion.

No doubt, there is and will never have peace and kind soul found in that house.

The silence was disturbed by a pair of boots softly tapping on the clean tiles of the place. A young man with an appearance that can cause the downfall of a city emerged in one of the corridors.

His apathetic eyes sweep through the whole place, his tall nose stood proud and no hint of emotion can be detected on his face.

'Nothing changed, it seems my old man is still the same.' Gusion thought as he continues to walk in the hallway. He doesn't want to go back to this dreadful prison, he loathed this place. Yet old traditions made him go back.

He fastened his pace to get done with his business and soon disappeared after entering a majestic door.

~•~

Twelve cloaked men were sitting on the chairs of the round table, one was missing from them. They were the elders of the Paxley Household.

Everyone was discussing in a very hushed manner as they waited for their master.

"The portal that separates the world is showing an abnormal flow of magic, it seems it's gradually increasing in the past few months." A cold voice suddenly spoke which made all the elders' back stiffen, they abruptly stood and bowed, "Welcome, Master" A variety of high and low pitched voices echoed in the whole room.

The master waved his hand and sat down on his chair, everyone then followed suit. The tension can be clearly seen in the air. "Aside from that, I heard my fourth son is back and will do the tradition today together with the side-branch people?" The master slowly spoke and waited for a reply.

The elders look at each other, begging for someone to answer their lord. However, their prayers were soon answered when the door suddenly opened.

"Indeed, Father. I am back" a deep voice sounded which made everyone gasped from shock. The young master stood before them like a deity who descended from Heaven. He emits such dangerous aura that made their mouth dry.

The master's lips formed a smile that does not seem like a smile. "Are you ready then?" He cut straight to the point already. Obviously, he was waiting for a good show to happen.

Gusion didn't answer but instead walked towards the center of the room, indicating them to start the battle immediately.

The elders were excited!

They're wondering how much their young master improve since he left the house. Gusion has the most chance of being their next master because of his holy and pure magic that was rarely seen in thousands of years. They were anticipating for new spells and formations, or much better, a miracle to happen!

All the participants entered the barrier together with Gusion, to say that they were not nervous was a lie.

The battle soon started and everyone mentally agreed to take the young master down first, as he is the biggest threat to them. They simultaneously attacked him with their own spells, which they spent all their lives creating. 'It's now or never' they all thought.

The spectators won't even blink as they wonder how the young master would counter all of the incoming attacks to him. Yet to their dismay, Gusion stood there without movements at all.

Gusion's lips turned into a beautiful smile, momentarily blinding his opponents. He moved so fast that everyone can't see him properly, he moved at a lightning speed that overwhelmed everyone in the arena. After a minute or so, the battle has ended with only Gusion standing in the middle.

Everyone was surprised and shocked. However, the sight of the glowing daggers stopped them from clapping and shout praises. They were all taught that using a weapon is forbidden in their family. Yet, the young master himself did it!

The master stood, and everyone sucked a mouthful breath as they prayed that no bloody fight would happen. "Because of your outstanding skills, I shall pardon your punishment. However, you have to choose Gusion."

Gusion stared coldly at his father. "Choose what, Father? Why can't we change these old ways?" he asked, although he already knows what his father will say, there's still a glimmer of hope in his heart. "It's the tradition." After he heard his father say that, all hope was lost in his heart and he yearned to get his freedom again.

He turned on his heel and walked towards the door already. "Then, have you forgotten about your little sweetheart?" Gusion stopped on his tracks and looked back at his father again.

"Sweetheart?" He laughed softly and stared pitifully at the master. "Oh, you mean that princess from the Baroque family? My, my, father. Have you grown so old that elder brother managed to escape your eyes?" He then left everyone stunned by his statement.

Everyone understood the meaning behind the young master's words, it was not him who fell in love with the princess, but his elder brother who disguised himself as Gusion!

The master stayed rooted in his place, anger can be literally seen radiating from him. "You know what will happen to you once you leave this mansion, do you still dare to?"

Gusion didn't respond but just disappeared from their sight. Everyone shook their heads in pity, 'what a waste of talent' they all thought.

"Kill him" was the last words of the master before he walked away.

~•~

He was free!

Gusion smiled and prepared all his daggers to deal with the pursuers. Despite running away from his home, he felt it was all right—as if it was meant to be. He knows he can't be limited and he deserves to go on an adventure to discover a lot of things.

He entered the vast forest and set up some traps, no enemies were in sight for a total of five minutes. However, wave upon wave of shadows suddenly came attacking him with the intention to kill.

Gusion didn't feel anything when his family is trying to kill him since they're nothing but cunning bastards hungry for power in his eyes.

As the sun sets, sweat was already seen forming on his pale forehead. His mana is already on the verge of depleting, yet his chasers don't seem to decrease in numbers no matter how much he kills.

Because of fatigue, someone was able to kick him into a tree and his head collided with a thick chunk of tree. Then something flashed before his eyes and saw a gorgeous emerald coloured eyes full of question.
