Blind Date

Lying on the bed, Liu Rushi rolled here and there. Unable to sleep. She took the pillow in her arms and tried sleeping. She again rolled to the other side and then back to her side. Then, she again rolled and rolled and (THUD) she fell on the floor.

"Damn!!!" She rubbed her back and straightened out her messy hair.

"This is actually creeping me." She scratched her head and sat on the edge of the bed.

She looked to her side and her eyes fell on the teasing emoji on her pillow. "Get lost, you fool." She threw the pillow away and it fell on the floor.

Liu Rishi's room was decorated in a childish manner. She had all those emojis stuck on her wall as her wallpaper. Rather than having hot handsome model photos, she had those chubby, pinky, different colored emoticons.

She had a reading table and a few storybooks were kept on that. Since, yellow was her favorite color, she had the walls painted in yellow and white just like Pikachu's color.

She had all those cute Chibis in her room. Her bed was also filled with them.

Now, sitting on the bed, she looked at all those Chibis. She took a chibi and started communicating with it.

"Say, should I go or not go?" She asked it the same question, the question which she asked to her friend, to herself many times.

A chibi is just a chibi. It won't reply. And just like that, it didn't reply. Keeping the chibi on the bed, she sat there thinking.

She pulled her hair back in a bun and walked to the closet. "Let's just get it done. It won't be bad, I suppose." She started to think of what to wear for tomorrow. She chose a black knee length dress. "This will be fine."

After choosing her clothes, she went back to her bed and laid down. However, the thought of a certain person started bothering her.

She took her phone and opened Zhang Wei's profile. She looked at him for a while and said "I guess, this is all we could go till. I'm going on a date tomorrow. I won't be seeing you anymore."

As she said, tears started falling from her eyes. She pressed on the contact options. Staring at the 'Delete Contact' option for a while, she tapped on it.

"Bye forever!"

Wiping her tears away, she kept her phone back on the table and went back to sleep. In the morning, Liu Rushi got up due to the loud banging on the door. Rubbing her eyes, she got up and dragged herself to the door.

"Ahh, I'm coming! Wait!" She said while walking over.

Opening the door, she stared at her sister-in-law in surprise.

"What is the hurry, sister-in-law? Why were you banging so loudly?" She asked all annoyed.

Yang Yue looked at Liu Rushi. She quickly dragged her towards the mirror and said "What is gotten into you? You never wake up this late, Liu Rushi. And why are there dark circle under your eyes? Did you not sleep well?"

"Ahh, whatever. Just let it be. I'm going for a bath." Scratching her head, Liu Rushi got inside the bathroom.

"This girl is acting weird today." Yang Yue remarked after seeing Liu Rishi's weird ignorant behavior.

Wearing the black knee-length dress, Liu Rushi applied some light makeup and kept her hair open. She picked up a black clutch and got out of the room.

Liu Jiangou was watching the news, when he saw his daughter coming down all dressed.

"Are you going?" He asked.

"Yeah. I am." Liu Rushi replied in a low voice.

"Alright, bye. I'll go now." She bid everyone goodbye and left the room.

"Could she really be affected by the breakup?" Liu Manni asked as she noticed how sad her daughter was.

The flower shop was just steps away from her house. So, as she was going by, she looked around to get a glimpse of Zhang Wei, but the shop was closed.

She became more sad when she saw that he was not there. Then, she remembered that the guy was a CEO and not a flower shop owner. She hailed a cab and went to the location her dad told her.

"This is your location." The cab driver told and stopped the car.

Liu Rushi paid him the money and got out of the cab. She looked at the restaurant in front of her. It was huge, maybe a 5-star restaurant.

She walked inside and the manager escorted her "Are you Miss Liu?" He asked her.

Liu Rushi nodded and said "Yes, I am."

"Please come this way, Miss." The manager escorted her to a private room.

He opened the door for her and bought her inside. "Please be seated. Mr. Feng is on his way." The manager bowed to her and left.

Liu Rushi nodded and adjusted herself on the seat. She sighed and started playing with her fingers.

*DING* came a sound of the message.

Liu Rushi opened her phone and saw her Dad's message "Did you reach?"

She replied "Yes."

"Okay. If you don't like him, just say it. I won't force you." Her Dad sent her a message along with a heart emoticon.

Liu Rushi smiled and sent a thumbs up emoji.

"I'm sorry, I'm late." A man in his thirties, entered inside the room.

Liu Rushi looked up at him and bowed.

He also bowed and said "Allow me to introduce. I'm Feng Xinglang." He stretched out his hand for a handshake.

Liu Rushi introduced herself "I'm Liu Rushi." But, she didn't do a handshake with him. She just bowed. Feng Xinglang drew his hand behind and bowed back to her.

He pushed his glasses back to their place and sat on the chair. Calling the waiter, he said "Two glasses of red wine."

"You are r... really pr... pretty." Feng Xinglang said.

"Thank you!" Liu Rushi smiled.

No one said anything till the waiter arrived. Liu Rushi looked here and there while Feng Xinglang just tried adjusting his glasses on his face.

"Wh... what.. I...is.. taking so lo...long for the wai...waiter to come?" Feng Xinglang said while stammering.

Liu Rushi looked at him. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I... I me...mean No. I... I.. just have a stam... stammering problem."

Liu Rushi didn't say anything. She just sat there playing with her fingers. She actually had no interest in coming to this blind date and now, after meeting this man, she lost her complete interest.

But something in her heart told her that this man could be a good person, so she just adjusted with him.

Liu Rushi was unable to bear seeing him push his glasses back again and again. Getting fed up, she asked him directly "Why are you pushing your glasses back again and again? Are they loose?"

Hearing her, Feng Xinglang kept his hand down after pushing his glasses back one last time. Then, he said "I don't know. The...they are j..just fa..falling down since tt.. today."

"Hmm." She sighed. Maybe he too was nervous just like her.

After a while, the waiter came with a bottle of wine. As the waiter opened the bottle, the wine got spilled on Feng Xinglang's dress. He was wearing a white suit and the red wine made a big design on his white suite.

He got up angrily. "W...what did y...you just do?" He yelled at him.

The waiter apologized and bowed to him.

Angrily, Feng Xinglang went to the washroom.

The waiter, then took out a small piece of paper from his pocket and gave it to Liu Rushi. "This, the man told me to do. And this is given by him."

Questioningly, Liu Rushi looked as the waiter left. She opened the small piece of paper and inside a few words along with the sender's name was written.

"Seeing your endurance, we have decided to hire you.

From Your Father."

"What?"

*DING*

She took out her phone to see her message.

"Did you like the surprise?"
