Chapter 66: Red fire bird says hello

Everyone saw Superman fall down and felt their chest tighten, but when they saw him looking up, in resistance and shoot lasers from his eyes they felt like he would do as he had always done, overcome the enemy.

But what they saw next completely shuttered their hopes.

The lasers that came out of Superman's eyes bent down as if there was pressure on even them and they flew straight down.

The shadow was shocked beyond measure. This had lasted way longer than he ever believed to be possible.

'It seems like his body is regenerating itself as the pressure destroys his body.' The Shadow realised in horror, he became very happy at the fact that he didn't blindly go into this fight fairly for real,, because he would have lost.

Suddenly The Shadow realised something, looking down on his gauntlet, he saw it flickering slightly.

'This will cost me too much if this continues.' The Shadow thought.

In the eyes of all humans, the shadow suddenly also fell down to his knees because of the pressure. But in reality he was standing there with his gauntlet raised.

"It's time to end this Superman!" The shadow said as his gauntlet started shining very brightly.

Superman's skin became very red, and smoke started coming out of it.

The cells of Superman started burning up.

"WHY WONT YOU DISAPPEAR ALREADY!" The shadow started shouting horrified, by the fact that Superman was probably the most durable thing that had ever existed.

Suddenly Superman fell forward and lost consciousness, and his last thoughts were. 'Please leave the earth alone, don't harm them....'

After Superman lost his consciousness, his body started becoming smoke as it burnt up, until there wasn't a single drop of blood, strand of hair or trace of his existence left in this dimension.

The Shadow didn't feel happy at all, because he had realised that the price for Superman's life was much more than he was willing to pay.

"Oh no..." Was the shadows last words as he turned into ash that disappeared into space, then gauntlet fell down and became light. before disappearing.

The Shadow didn't have any abilities in his last moments so every earthling had seen and heard him speak his last words.

But they weren't celebrating his demise at all, the whole world had stopped and just stared at the sky as the hologram disappeared.

They had all experienced Superman's death before, but no one had ever confirmed it, it was all speculations. Everyone hoped to some extent that he simply retired to never show his face but this time it was different, everyone saw his death with their eyes.

Marianne Collins and Joseph Collins finally fell to their knees hugging each other, crying.

Not far from them Laura was also on her knees with her baby in her arms, crying without making a sound.

"How did this come to be..." Dr. Strange spoke, not believing what he had seen. His chest felt very heavy.

Beside him were a few of the avengers, some even with tears on their faces.

Johnny stood outside of the Baxter building looking up, his face had no expressions, but his body did.

Spurts of flames came out of his body, he did it unconsciously. He didn't even notice that he full on turned into fire, fire so hot, it started melting the streets and the building.

Ben, that was beside him had to wake him from his stupor.

"Pete... tell me what I saw wasn't real..." Elena said as she stood on top of a building in her spider suit.

Peter simply hugged her, trying to console her and himself. They didn't make a sound not both of them fell tears.

To Peter, Kevin was truly someone he had looked up to, he had helped him when Peter was bullied. He had been kind to him when he had no friends. Become a symbol of hope for him.

"This makes my plans... easier." A man with a metallic voice said as he looked up to the skull. His green robes danced in the wind as he stood in the middle of the deserts.

The man suddenly raised his hands and opened a rift to another world.

"I don't know when I can be back, but this place will give me more power...And then I'll become a real Emperor!" The man with the green robes and metallic facemask whispered before stepping into the rift and disappeared.

Outside of the universe, a being sat in the lotus position and suddenly spoke to himself.

"Oh.. one of my avatars just got killed by... Superman? Interesting... to think, that The One-Above-All would lose, even if it is an avatar." the man spoke in amusement.

In a far, far away galaxy, a gigantic fleet of spaceships surrounded a bigger one, and inside the headquarters of the bigger ship a big man, big man in a purple armour and a gigantic helmet commanded his inferiors.

"Sir, we found a trace of the power stone." one of the minions reported.

"Then why aren't we on our way there yet?" The big man in purple armour spoke, his voice vinrated the fabric of space.

"We aren't the only ones that sensed it, Thanos and his army have turned their fleet towards it as well." The minion spoke fearfully.

"You think I, GALACTUS FEAR THANOS!?" Galactus started shouting.

"Y-Yes sir, we'll change our directions right away and meet Thanos army there!" the minion said and turned around to relay the message to those that needed to know.

In the middle of the night, suddenly a reddish, orange light started shining all over the mansion outside of New York, known as Xavier's school for gifted children.

The reddish light had awakened everyone in the building as they hurried towards the source of it.

Many students surrounded the room of Jean Grey, a red haired young woman, who should be asleep at this hour.

"Xavier, what's going on?!" a gorilla looking man with glasses spoke worriedly. His hair was blue making him stick out.

"I don't know, I can't feel her consciousness, let's go inside." Xavier spoke, very worried for his student.

As they opened the door to the room they found Jean Grey floating in the air above her bed, shining brightly. Her eyes were shining the most, in a scary, red looking light. She was looking upwards looking very offended.

Everyone that knew her, felt like the person in front of them was someone else, the aura felt like it belonged to a nobility, one that had been very offended.

Suddenly the light started residing as Jean slowly fell down to her bed again, falling asleep.

As everything went dark and silent, no one knew what they should do they looked towards each other confused.

"AAAARAAAAAGH" a shout came from the sleeping Jean Grey as she suddenly sat up, awakened from her sleep. She looked very afraid, pale and slightly sweaty.

She was frantically looking around as if she was confused where she was at.

"Jean are you alright?" Everyone asked as they came forward, trying to call her down."I need to speak to the headmaster!" She shouted very worriedly.

"I'm here Jean, calm down, tell me what happened." A voice came from the door as Xavier was driven in on his wheelchair.

The students made way for him.

"I-I think.. I saw the future!" She said as she was slightly shaking.
