"SCREECH… ."
A huge gust of wind came crashing down with a large patch of shadow above them. It was a raven with a wingspan of 4.6 meters.
It came gliding down flapping its gigantic wings and landed right next to Tau. When it stands, it reaches up to 200 cm tall.
"Adia…"
Tau rubs his head dotingly whilst Adia rested her head on his shoulder like a child. Let's not forget, Tau was the strongest warrior and the Chieftain of a tribe. He was huge even amongst his fellow tribesmen who were all tall, and strong. Most of the warriors in the tribe were around 190 to 210 cm tall.
He gave him some salted dried meat and gave her a few instructions with his mind. Not only did the raven understand him well, but she can also fully guess the reason behind it. These companion beast are incredibly smart and loyal, that's why they are the best partner for battle and hunting.
Communicating with animals is one of the ultimate knowledge and secrets of the hidden tribes.
The raven flew off into the sky hovering above the forest, looking for an ideal path and looking out for any dangers.
Tau readied his bow and arrows, and wait for the Shaman's command.
"I would have been fine even if you didn't come."The Shaman sigh...
"Here... take this!" He threw a small bottle containing a brown powder.
"Spread it all over your body. That will help you cover up your scent. Those pigs have a crazy nose, and they can smell anything within 12 miles."
Tau took the bottle and spread it all over his body. He was a serious person and always took things seriously when it comes to safety. After he was done, he leads the shaman into the thick jungle.
With the guide of the raven, everything went smoothly. They encounter a few animals and snakes from time to time, but those animals didn't possess any threat which they can't handle. The raven sent out warning signals a few times if the threat level was high. She leads them away from the danger and everything was fine.
Everything went smoothly until when they reach some crevices of a mountain, it was dark, especially when it's cloudy. The place was a little rocky and the trees were dense in this small part of the region, and a small stream of water was running through the mountain crevices. When they came near to the stream, they saw a huge animal with a long sharp tusk, the creature's length was around 4 meters and weight 1,290 pounds, and has 6 inches tusk. The creature was not far away from their distance. As if he had sensed their movements, he turns around and looks at them.
"CLIMB A TREE!!!"
Tau shouted while he nocked his arrow. The Shaman hurriedly ran and climb to the nearest tree. The war hog squeal and charge straight for Tau. He targeted Tau because he was the only one who was intimidating and threatening to him.
"Swift…"
Tau releases his arrow filled with energy. The arrow was so powerful that it tore through the air and made a low hum vibrating sound.
"Thunk…"
The arrow pierces through one of his front thighs and knocks him off his balance. The war hog stumbles across the rocks and injured himself. But that only made him madder. It stood up from his injuries and shook it off as if they were nothing. He locks onto Tau once again and charges straight for him at an incredible speed.
Tau was ready for this, he had already nocked his arrow and aims for the incoming war hog.
"Swift…"
He releases the arrow, and the arrow went straight for the eyes, but sadly, the arrow misses the target and instead hits the shoulder. It was difficult for him to hit his target because the war hog was moving his head up and down while running. Tau had no choice but to jump up to a tree like a monkey.
"Bam…"
The war hog slam against the tree with his tusk and chip off a huge chunk of the tree. The tree shook so hard that Tau almost lost his grip.
The war hog started digging the soil and start tearing the roots. These war hogs knew how to hunt animals above the tree and they were very intelligent creatures.
They can uproot a tree very easily, all they need to do is uproot the tree root and the tree will fall itself.
It snorts and started digging the roots with his hooves and snout. Taking this chance, Tau nocked his arrow.
War hogs are the most difficult creatures to kill, they have thick hides, layered with dense muscles and fats. Not only were they large, but they also have fewer area targets. They also have a strong vitality.
Tau nocks his arrow to the full length. This time he cannot miss or they will be in deep trouble. The more time they waste, the more chances of encountering a group of war hog.
"Huuu…"
He let out a long breath and aim at war hog chest.
"Swift…"
He releases the arrow. The arrow flew down between the gap of the branches and went straight for the chest. The war hog suddenly looks up when he heard the rustling sound of the leaves, but everything was too late.
An arrow pierces through his skin and went straight inside his chest. The arrow had pierced through his lungs and now, the war hog was suddenly having trouble with his breathing.
The war hog squeals as he blindly slams against the tree which shook the tree violently. Tau who was on the top of the tree grabs onto the tree__like his life depends on it.
A few moments after, the war hog suddenly collapses and breath heavily. Just to make sure Tau nock his arrow and shoot right into his eyes. The arrow went straight into his eyes and penetrated through the skull, piercing through his brain. The war hog kicks his leg violently and finally stops breathing.
Tau and the Shaman finally came down and check the war hog. Tau hurriedly butchers the war hog and starts trimming the meat. He separates the meat from bones cleanly and took all of the good parts and tied them together with a rope. The raven swoops down and starts chomping down the meat. She has a huge appetite so she swallowed a large portion of the meat with the permission of Tau. Tau carried 35 kg of meat whilst the Shaman carried only 10 kg. Even though 35 kg seems a lot, it didn't affect any of his combat effectiveness or hinder any of his movement capabilities. It was such a pity that they had to leave such a large portion of delicious meat. War hog meat didn't come easy. If only if they were not on a mission, none of this meat would go to waste.
"Let's go."
Both Tau and the Shaman went deeper into the jungle. They saw the dark clouds getting thinner and thinner. They can see the sunlight penetrating through the clouds.
With the raven guiding them through the jungle, their path was easy. This time they didn't encounter any dangerous situation.
Without animal companions, no human could survive this jungle. Many ancient creatures are hiding and lurking in these thick unexplored jungles, hidden from the eyes of the outside world. Many lands around the world are untouched and unexplored by humans.
"Rustle… Rustle…"
They walked out of the jungle and finally cross the danger zone. They were greeted by a vast open land with a golden sun. The sun was setting and everything was gold in color. The view of the mountains and the golden grassland was spectacular.
"Quick! We must go to that mountain cave." The shaman pointed at the tall distance mountain. They both rush to the mountain and finally reach the foot of the mountain. They saw a cave between the crevice of the mountain.
"HAHAHA…"
"Isn't that shaman Chiamaka from the Gondo tribe?"
A loud laughter came from inside the cave. Tau suddenly took out his bow and nocked his arrow, but was stopped by the shaman.
"Put your weapons down. We came here for a meeting." The shaman said and walked towards the cave.
Tau cautiously followed him closely, keeping his eyes on the surroundings, looking out for an ambush or traps.
They finally arrived inside the cave and saw many other people similar to them. Most of them were shamans from different tribes.
