Chapter 9

Sar looked around the room which he was to share with Kin, whom he learnt was Kira's younger brother. After introducing themselves both of them retired into their respective beds. Both were equally tired. But they did not want to sleep yet. Kin was curious about his man whom he brought here.Kira had spared his life he which meant that Kira had seen something special in this person. He wanted to ask him but he thought that Sar was asleep. Sar on the other hand was itching to ask Kin questions about this rebellion. But he did not want to see very curious as it would raise suspicions. Both of them kept quiet and laid on their beds.

Then suddenly he remembered. "Thank you", Sar said aloud. Kin was surprised that Sar was till awake. " For what? ", he asked.

" You saved my life by bringing me here...or else I would, by now be rotting in a guards cell", he said. Kin smiled. He said, "it's okay. I'm glad I saved you ..."

Sar started liking this young boy more and more. He seemed only thirteen years old. But he spoke maturely. Of course with a sister like Kira who was the leader of the rebellion he had to be tough. Sar suddenly sighed. "What's wrong?, " Kin asked.

"My life has turned in a way I can never imagine...I never expected coming to the capital would change my life so drastically..."

" How was your life before coming here?? "

Sar had to smile at the enthusiastic curiosity of the young boy. So he complied and told how he lived with his aunt in the village, his secret spots and how he used to look at the capital walls from a distance. After some hesitation, he told Kin about the merchant's daughter. How he saw that she was marrying another man. Strangely he did not feel anything that she was marrying someone else. He realized he had not loved her at all. She was just a fantasy he had which led him to cross the gates.

Kin heard all these and said," I wish I also could a great adventure like you. I want or go beyond the gates and see the world outside the capital. "

"Don't worry you will..." ,Sar said.

"I thought that you would ask me questions about the rebellion and my sister. I'm surprised that you didn't.." , kin said.

"I didn't want to pressurize you to say anything. By the way I'm new here..Kira may not want me to know many things...So I decided to wait till tomorrow morning for my question...I'm actually dying with curiosity..." , Sar said.

Kin laughed. His respects for this man grew. He found himself trusting him thoroughly. "All right ...good night...It will not be good if we both overslept tomorrow...Kira will kill us both."

Sar laughed and both of them drifted off to sleep. One screaming of the adventures he would go..and the other dreaming about the life he lost and the life he was about to lead.
