"Hey you." Soo Hyun bumped his shoulder into Jenna.
"Oh hey." Smiling at him, she kept walking.
"So..I was thinking." He scratched his head while sheepishly smiling.
"Yeah?" Looking at him and then returning her gaze to the hallway, Jenna shifted the straps on her backpack. Soo Hyun nervously chuckled and poured out a rush of words.
"I was thinking that we should have more of those little tutoring sessions. The help you gave me last time helped me a lot! So I was wondering if we could have the sessions regularly." He didn't, no he wasn't nervous. It was just that it was so unusual to suggest such a thing to her that had him feeling skittish. It helped that he wasn't staring at Jenna so seriously or else she would have squirmed under his gaze. Plodding along with him in the hallway, she realized that she could actually be helping a person that she knew even when she didn't know exactly the relationship between her and him.
"It never hurt to help others..usually," Jenna thought inside her head.
"If you want..I could. What do you think?"
"Really? Thanks so much. You won't regret it!"
"Wait, why would I regret it in the first place?" Turning to face him completely, you threw your arms on your hips, eyebrows raised.
"I meant that it might be tough to teach me! That's all!" Soo Hyun backed a step away, jumping from Jenna's sudden stance.
"Gee, no need to jump away. I'm not that intimidating." Dropping her arms down to her sides, Jenna resumed her pace from earlier and stopped when she found her locker.
"So we have a deal, yah?" Soo Hyun leaned next to Jenna's locker, a grin playing on his lips.
"Mmhm." Turning the dial automatically on the lock, it clicked open and she pulled the locker open.
~Slam!~
"YAH!" Soo Hyun slammed his arm right before her face into the side of your locker's door. "Dammit. Look at me. This is really serious to me!" Jenna's eyes grew wide in surprise, around the two of them, a small crowd stirred.
"Hey, watch what you're doing! You're attracting a crowd!" Whispering it out urgently to him, she took his arm from her locker and shut it.
"I don't care! Just answer my question!" But his voice was lowered this time.
"Yes. We have a deal!" Looking him squarely in the eye, he nodded curtly. She didn't know why he was making it into such a big deal. Just hoped he doesn't act so rash like that anymore. Even with the serious tone.
"Good. Let's call it a date right after school." Before Jenna could even return an answer, he had already vanished. The crowd had diminished at least. Call it a date? Meaning a study session today? Jenna's head swirled with unanswered questions. Pushing it all behind her, she threw on a self-assured smile. Bring it on.
