Just minutes later after I drifted off, Taniya woke me up. It was irritating but we were home. My body lacked energy. It was difficult to even stand up. My mom and grandpa will be home. They can't see me like this.
" Wait I will help you." Taniya offered.
" Listen, I..I can't tell mom and grandpa about today. They will be worried sick. I can't show up like this. I look like wreck. Do something please."
" Look Dais, now or later you have to say them. You can't hide forever."
" I will say them but not today, please."
Taniya sighed, " Okay, I have makeup I will cover up that bruise..."
" No it will take time." I glanced towards the door. " I can already see my mom from the outside window."
" Okay, I have scarf. Cover your face. Hide your bruise."
Taniya went through her purse and took out a red scarf. I took it from her and put it over my head and covered my left half.
I must seriously look like a freak.
" What should I say to them?" I asked Taniya when I saw my mother come out towards the porch.
" Tell that you were feeling cold or something."
" Seriously? Look, Its not that cold. Its practically burning."
" I don't know Dais say anything or better say nothing and go directly to your room."
I came out of car and waved goodbye to Taniya. She gave me thumbs up and said all the best and rushed out from there.
I made my way towards the entrance and saw my mom standing on the porch. She looks so intimidating. She was ready to pounce anytime.
God, I am dead.
" What time is it?" She asked with calm.
" Umm.. mom actually I got... detention and.."
" You got what?" Her tone raising.
" It wasn't my mistake. Teacher misunderstood." I replied a little to hurriedly.
" And what is with you wearing scarf? Is it Taniya's?"
" Yeah.. it was hot today and the sunlight was really disturbing so.."
" Hmm." She eyed me skeptically but said nothing further.
" How much period of time it takes in detention?"
" Umm.. 1 hour."
" And how much late are you?"
I looked away " 2 and a half.."
" Were did the rest of one and half hour go?"
" Uh.. I.."
"Enough with so many questions already. Let her come inside." My grandpa spoke from behind.
" But..."
" No buts, and I am sure she won't do it again. Now, make her way."
I love you grandpa.
My mom huffed "This isn't over" she whispered.
Okay.
I hugged grandpa and made my way upstairs. I removed my scarf and went to take a look at myself.
My eyes went wide at the sight in front of me.
I look horrible. My eyes are little red, my hair is sticking all over my forehead, my face is sweaty, and left cheek have finger prints. It is crimson red.
I rushed into the bathroom. I don't want anyone to see me like this. I washed my face, combed my hair and applied an expired foundation I had because I don't remember ever using it. Mom brought it 3 years ago. I tried to cover it and my skin color looked totally different from the foundation one. So I applied it all over my face with cotton. I looked different. I don't know a thing about makeup except eyeliner. I looked even horrible after applying foundation. I thought of rinsing it off but I can't.
I surely as hell know that mom will come upstairs to check on me.
I was already so tired. I had to sleep or I might cry. I seriously want my mom to sing lullaby or something. I sound pathetic but that's what I have become. I went towards my bed and laid down. I closed my eyes and drifted off seconds later taking out all my tiredness.

I woke up next day feeling my head in the edge of exploding.
When will it go away?
I turned my alarm off, hurried and went in the bathroom. After showering, I put on my clothes, little cozy to feel good. I checked in the mirror to see my left cheek covered in purple bruise. No sign of fingerprints. I went downstairs, still feeling little dizzy. I was almost late so I skipped my breakfast.
" Daisy! Come here." She looked angry. " Eat this sandwich or... What the hell happened to your face?"
She rushed to me with worried expression.
" I was turning my alarm off and fall off the bed and hurt my cheek with the bedside table."
She eyed my cheek and sighed. I doubt she took in my lie.
" Come, I will put the medicine." I nodded.
After listening for like hundredth time by mom that I should be careful and should be on time today at home, I heard Taniya's car honk and saw her waiting outside.
I bid my mom goodbye, kissed her cheek and assured her. I rushed towards Taniya's car and sat on the passenger seat.
She winced when she looked at my cheek.
" You sure as hell can't go with that. I will seriously kill that Michael guy! How dare he slap you? I wanted to ramble about this yesterday but hold it in for today. If I saw him, don't even try to stop me from killing him."
" Surely, you can kill him" I rolled my eyes.
" Yeah! So, how did it go?"
" Well, yesterday she pondered me with questions but my knight with the shining armour saved me from her further killing me. I lied her about the bruise. I don't think she actually think it was true. She is a mom and no one can catch you better than them. I wonder why she didn't ask me? I am sure she have hundreds of questions still waiting for me."
" Hmm. I wonder too. Now, lets get that bruise covered up." Taniya went through her bag and opened a makeup bag.
She covered my bruise with foundation and added a compact touch and what not items that I don't know their name of.
I checked in her compact mirror. It looked good, much better than what I did yesterday. It was all covered and there was no hint of any bruise.
" All good." Taniya said.
She smiled and drove towards school. We arrived but were 5 minutes early. Taniya drive quite fast I guess. I still felt little dizzy.
Taniya noticed my face " What happened? You don't look fine"
I shook my head. "No just a little headache."
She nodded and we headed towards our locker. I took my belongings and suddenly felt blur in my eyes but I managed myself by holding my locker tightly and I quickly closed my eyes shut just for few seconds. I opened and felt my vision back. But noticed Luke staring at me with confusion. He came up to me
"Are you alright? You don't look good."
I shook my head. "I'm totally fine just a little headache, nothing else."
He looked at me with concern and clearly not satisfied with my answer. Bell rang and we departed in our classes. I went inside, happy that no one is there to bother me as Michael is suspended for 5 days. It was a relief but won't last long. The Head of Department assured us that he will take further strict action. I took my seat as Mr Duler entered. He started his teaching. I wasn't in the condition to concentrate. My head started hurting again. This time harder.
Time went by and classes ended. All the lectures were death to me. Even my history class seemed annoying. I don't know why this is happening. My head getting hurt everytime someone spoke in high voice. I walked downstairs towards the school's exit. This time my head going out of hand. I griped my head with my hand. I heard someone calling me from behind but my senses weren't accepting any voice. My vision going blurry. I blinked my eyes again and again to gain my senses back but then everything went black, my torso falling in a tight grip.
