After contemplating about the visitor, Lia decided to just clean some things off and go home.
She waved goodbye to Anna who is about to go off work too. They parted ways at the entrance of the building since they are going at the opposite direction.
Julia sat at the shed waiting for her bus to come.
She stretched off her limbs to give her muscles a little push.
"Man...It really is tiring to think that deep. In the past though, it isn't like me to be this vulnerable and hopeless."
Upon saying that, she remembered her old lifestyle. She reminisced her past life while looking at the flickering lights of the busy city at hand.
'My past life....It wasn't really that boring. I met people along the way..... learned new things..... and traveled to places I've never been before. Sure.... it was fun. It just became boring because I was isolating myself to people and things around me.'
Sadness and another unexplained emotion filled Lia's face.
Her past life was never really that boring, it was her background of being an orphan and past experiences of being condemned that pushed her to becoming someone who's cold and cruel on the outside.
Another reason why she excelled in business. By becoming someone ruthless is the ideal for the business world.
'I guess I was never really trustful to anyone leading to everyone never liking me that much and never being that attached to me. Yes, I just considered them as business partners, business allies, business acquaintances if not business enemies.'
In her darkness moments in her past life, novels were the only relief for her. A relief where she can be herself.
People won't understand her in her previous life. She needed to only trust her life and push herself to become someone who is cold and indifferent in order to protect herself. But in reality, she is just as vulnerable.
She made a 'mask' to hide and protect her. Slowly did she know, that this 'mask' was slowly killing her true self. By the time she knew this, it was too late. She became the 'mask' herself.
Julia was truly happy when she was transported inside this novel. Thinking she has a chance to start over a new life where she won't hide her true self anymore behind a mask she made just to protect herself.
It is a new side of Lia being like this, vulnerability wasn't in her dictionary. She reminded herself to become strong over and over again, as there was no one she can rely on but herself. As she realized that this is not her 'past' life anymore, she began to think to herself 'Is it really okay for me to have a new chance like this?'.
She stopped lowering her head this time and looked on to the cars passing by the city streets. The lights reflecting her beautiful, clear eyes
From the gloomy face of the beauty, smile entered her face as if colors has been splashed to a blank canvas.
"Well why not, why can't I turn over a new leaf since this is my life right now?"
She grabbed her bag and stood up abruptly.
The bus she was waiting for stopped in front of her, in which she entered unhesitatingly leaving a sentence behind in that waiting shed.
"I am me, Julia, I can just be me in this life, no one shall ever stop me."
