Special encounter

After a couple of days had passed, Ned was finally healthy enough to return to school. Even though he said it was a small cold, he was bed ridden for almost three days. In the meantime, after that incident between Iris and Wolfram had occurred, Kyria made sure to always stick by her side. He made sure they were to never meet each other face to face again. As much as she enjoyed Kyria's company, she felt a little smothered. More than anything, she wanted some time to herself. To Iris's luck, Kyria had been summoned by one of the teacher's again. At first he was reluctant to leave her, but he had no other choice. He gave Ned strict signals to look out for her. Ned just nodded his head grinning giving Kyria an unsettling feeling.

Ten minutes had already gone by and Ned was already out cold. Iris took this chance to flee the classroom without trouble. Finally Iris ended her destination at the roof. After the secret garden her second best place to hang out was the roof. Foot steps were heard behind the door. Iris began to panic frantically thinking Kyria must have already found her location. In a split second she hid in one of that back corners out of sight from anyone who entered the roof top. Multiple voices could be heard coming through the door. Even though Iris could not transform, that didn't mean that her special senses were lost. It had seem that it was a group of girls from her class. They began to socialize with one another, as some of them began to pull out a cigarette. Giggles and laughs filled Iris's ears. In more ways than one Iris was envious of these girls. The loneliness in her heart began to grow. She always knew that Ned and Kyria would always be there for her, but that's not what she needed. She wanted a girl friend that she can giggle with just like them. Someone that she could consult anything with, like a boyfriend. A blush crept one her face just thinking about that embarrassing topic. The bell rang indicating that the period was over. Everyone had already evacuated the roof, so Iris took in this chance to take in the noon breeze. The gentle breeze calmed her down, as she looked into the cloud filled sky. As soon as she was done admiring the clouds, she turn to the door to leave the roof. However for some reason it wouldn't open. It was as if the door was stuck. Iris tried her best to open it but it wouldn't budge. The sky began to grow dark very fast. It looked like it was going to start raining any minute. The wind grew stronger, seeping through her skin causing her to shiver restlessly. Suddenly tiny droplets began to pour down making her situation worse. She began to tremble to the point where her teeth cluttered together. She hugged her knee hoping she could conserve some kind of heat, but it didn't work. Thunder bolts shot from the sky, frightening Iris terribly. She was never good with thunder or lighting as a child. Whenever it had happened she would either bury herself in her father's arms or hide in the closet, but she couldn't do either. She gripped her arm tightly, biting her lips deep enough to draw blood to prevent herself from crying. Iris had always hated herself for crying so easily.

Another bolt struck causing her to shriek in terror. She couldn't take it anymore she banged on the door calling out Ned's and Kyria's names. She let her tears fall, making her yells into a sobbing fit. She was beginning to feel dizzy. She suddenly lost balance, falling backwards to the cold hard ground. She embraced for impact, but to her surprise nothing had happened. All she saw was the gray sky and something black floating in the air. She wanted to see her savior and thank him or her for taking their time to save her, but she had already lost her consciousness.

-----------------------------------------------

A gentle whistle was heard at a far distance. She felt a little paranoid hearing something so pleasant, given the fact she might be already dead. She tried to open her eyes, but they felt heavy. Small rays of light shot through her pupil allowing her to see different colors. Her blurry vision began to clear up, enabling to let her notice the figures sitting in front of her. At one side it was Ned sleeping deeply in his arms. On the otherside sat Kyria with his head buries in his arms mumbling something. He had not realized that she had woken up. His demeanor looked lonely and sad. Iris couldn't really figured out the cause assuming it was probably because of her. A light cough puffed out of her chest, catching Kyria's attention. Before she was given the chance to speak, she was pulled into a tight hug.

"Thank god, you're okay. Please don't scare me like that." His voice sounded tired and ragged like he had been running a marathon. The worry plastered on his face seemed infinite. That's when it had occurred to her, what was she doing on the infirmary bed? Wasn't she on the roof?

"Why am I here? How did I get here?" She asked in a quizzical manner, but earned silence in return. Kyria said nothing, but his sullen eyes seem to show that he's keeping some kind of secret. Iris didn't want to prey in but she didn't like secrets either. As she was about to speak up, Kyria had already gotten up to leave the room. Iris felt a little hurt the way Kyria had ignored her. An audible sigh escaped from her mouth causing Ned to squirm in his sleep. She gave a light smile ruffling the sleeping fellow's hair. She couldn't help but feel something troubling was up ahead.

Kyria felt a little guilty for brushing off Iris.

Despite that, he continued to search for the mystery man that had saved his precious Iris. He could smell that man's stench all over Iris. The foreign scent lead him to the school's balcony by the teacher's office. With a puff of his chest, he called out to the black wolf relaxing by the railing. The troubled look on Wolfram's face was evident. Kyria's face wasn't as pleased either, but that didn't stop him from bowing his head showing his gratitude. Wolfram couldnt help but snicker at the other's outrageous gesture.

"Why are you thanking me? It's not like I saved her cause I wanted to. She was interrupting my sleep with all that crying and banging." A fuse was ignited in Kyria's mind. The small form of hatred he held for this man grew stronger. He grabbed him by the collar, lowering him to his level. "I dare you to say that again. Someone like you shouldn't even be near someone as pure as her. Even if you saved her this time I still want you to stay away from her." Kyria growled piercing his emerald eyes into onyx ones. He was trembling with anger, trying so hard not to bash Wolfram's face in. Wolfram took this chance to throw Kyria's hands off, casually walking away.

"If you're so worried why don't you put a collar on her. It'll be a nice touch on her, for someone who's so innocent." He smirked, amused by his own joke. "If I hadn't saved her then those f*cking girls..."Wolfram paused thinking it wasn't such a good idea to tell him what happened. Kyria looked almost confused trying to figure out what he meant. Wolfram took that chance to escape thinking he had blurted out something stupid again. Before, Kyria could question Wolfram any further, he had already disappeared. Kyria clenched his fist making aggressive contact with the wall in from of him. He couldn't help but feel disgusted because it was he who was supposed to be Iris's knight in shining armor, not some arrogant idiot.

"It should have been ne who was there for her!" He mumbled audibly. After cooling down he walked back to Iris's room sighing audibly under his breathe. The door slammed opened pretty loud, not realizing he was a bit forceful creating too much noise. Iris shot her eyes at the door, then softened her glance after realizing who it was. She grinned in a childish manner earning a chuckle from Kyria. Kyria could feel a sharp pain in his chest just looking at her innocent face. The frustration within his heart was only growing.

After disappearing into the distance, Wolfram took a pause in the middle of the hall way. Because his hearing was very well heightened, he heard the other wolf's frustrated mumble. He glanced at his hands remembering the incident with the girl. He remembered waking up to annoying whines. He was ready to knock out whoever was crying for no reason. Tiny dropplets fell on his face, as the thunder roared proudly, bring him to his senses. He glanced up to see the same little girl crying her soul out trembling at the sight of each flash. Suddenly she had stopped crying, and began to collapse towards the ground. As soon as she had lost her consciousness Wolfram had caught her, holding her bridal style. The frustration on his face was visible yet again. What was he supposed to do with this kid. All he wanted was a nap and now this? Since his hands were full he didn't bother turning the knob. Without any warning he kicked the door down, making it fly across the stairwell. He was greeted by a bunch of girls who were gawking at his sudden outburst. He glared at them making them feel as uncomfortable as possible.

"What the f*ck are you doing? If you nitwits have time to fool around, get your asses to class already and learn something for once. You guys need it." The faces the girls made were priceless, they became a blushing mess full of embarrassment under his eyes. Seconds later the leader had noticed the culpit in his arms causing her blood to boil. That brat was supposed to panic and struggle outside, why is she in his in his arms, noneless in bridal position? Why was he there in the first place and did she know? the leader thought grunting under her breath. Without another word he by past the bunch heading toward the infirmary, leaving the other girls speechless. This definitely wasnt over.

When he got there he set her down on one of the beds rather gently. No one was around so he took this chance too leave, but oddly enough something was holding him back. He turned back to face a sleeping Iris. He couldn't help but admire her pleasant features even though he found her extremely annoying and irritable. Before he knew it he found himself caressing one of her rosy cheeks. They were unexpectedly really soft throwing Wolfram off guard. The realization of what he was doing had hit him hard because he fled the infirmary at top speed reaching the court yard of the school. A blush crept one his face making him regret his life choices at that moment.

Wolfram shook his head back to the current reality clenching his open hands in embarrassment. Even so he couldn't help but feel guilty for the girl since she's such a timid creature. His some what existent guilty conscious made him decide to visit the girl to see if she was ok. When he had arrived at the infirmary, he heard multiple voices giggling and laughing. He didn't think it would be her since to his knowledge she only knew how to be scared and cry. He peeked through the door to see the guy he had encountered previously. He face formed into a scowl displaying disinterest. Beside him was a laughing Iris. His eyes grew wide at the sudden surprise. She looked genuinely happy. The eyes that were filled with sudden fear and tears were now filled with pure joy. Wolfram felt his heart skip a beat. He covered his mouth gasping for air that was suddenly leaving his system. This foreign feeling terrified him. He checked his forehead to me sure he wasnt getting a fever. He sighed in relief pondering upon this outrageous moment and decided to think nothing of it. School was already ending so he no longer took class as his priority and just went home.

For Iris, the day had already ended. She was escorted safely home by her dear friends. As things had settled she rested herself in bed after saying bye to Kyria and Ned. She already knew her father wasn't going to be home anytime soon so she didn't expect much. Her eyes closed in a relaxed manner calming her nerves. Right when her consciousness was about to slip the door to her bedroom door hflew open. She was smothered into a tight hug before she even realized who is was. In her stance she didn't need to see who it was since the unique smell of her father filled her nose. All her insecurities melted without trouble. Although she was relieved, she felt her father tremble while hugging her causing her to become tense again. Warm tears soaked her shoulder making her panic.

"Father, what's wrong? Why are you crying? Please don't cry." She was flustered not knowing what to do in this situation because sadly the situation was usually reversed. Suddenly she got an idea. She took her hand and pat his back gently rubbing her fingers in circular motion. She tried to imitate Ned's method since it always calmed her down when ever she was crying. To her joy her father finally calmed down, while he stifled like a needy child. He looked up at grabbing her face with both hands as he rested his forehead upon her's.

"Thank god you're ok. I wouldn't know what to do if you had left me too. When the school had called me saying that you had collapsed, all the blood rushed to my head. All i could think about was what could have possibly happened to you. I was even sent home because I wasn't able to work. I'm so so glad you're ok I..." His voice was trembling sounding like him may end up crying again, but instead his head dropped into her as she heard light snores. He drifted off into a deep sleep as if he hadn't been sleeping for days. Iris couldn't help but laugh at her father's sentimental monologue. She set her father to bed next to her.

"There's no way I would ever leave you. Not even death can do us apart, I promise." She claimed as she lied close to her sleeping father drifting off at the sound of his steady heart beat.

A new morning had risen rather quickly. Iris woken up to a loud snore startling her. It was louder than her alarm clock, and for one she couldn't shut this one off. To Iris's convenience, she took this chance to make breakfast for the two. It was a rather nostalgic change since her father had always sacrificed his sleep to make her delicious meals every morning. A very endearing smell filled the house catching the sleeping man's attention. The man who seemed like dead weight a moment ago rose up from is sleep and rushed down the stairs. Drool dripped from the side of his mouth creeping Iris out. However it was obvious that anyone would wake up to a delicious meal any day.

Yet again Iris parted from her father to go to school but this time he made sure everything was fine with her before setting her off. She was equipped to the point she was ready to go into battle. As extreme as it sounded, he wouldn't be able to handle it if she had collapsed again so to him taking such precautions was just a beginning. She arrived to school like any other day, but for some reason when she set foot into the school's premises the crowd covering her path way suddenly froze on the spot. As soon as they made contact with her, they would cower their heads as if they hadn't noticed her. Something was definitely strange and it kind of scared Iris. She rushed to her designated classroom hoping to meet with her friend. However as soon as she set foot into the classroom whispers began to grow. The whispers weren't like what they usually were, like gossips. It was as if they were whispering about something truly obscene and frightening. The sudden glances she was receiving startled her even more. She could feel a sudden fear weighing upon her shoulders. Her eyes dilated as her breathing became rather heavy. She was caught in a trance that she soon escaped with the help of Kyria and Ned. Ned had sensed instantly that something was wrong with her and pulled her into a hug trying to calm her nerves. Kyria didn't bother interrupting since he knew Ned was a genius at calming her down in any situation. He glared at the other students making them go quiet turning their heads in different directions, making it seem as if nothing had happened to begin with. The first three periods of the day had gone by rather smoothly. For fourth period the three would split into different classes and that idea terrified Iris. She could still feel the side glances pierce through her as she walked through the hallways even with Kyria and Ned beside her. Normally these glances wouldn't bother her at all, but for some reason today they were intense, almost as if they were judging her every move. She grasped both of their arms in panic. They knew something was wrong the moment she grabbed them with her cold hands. Instead of going to class she was lead to her sacred destination, the secret garden. They knew that in this situation the only place to settle her heart was to bring her there. With that taken care of, they took this chance to investigate the sudden changes within the students' behaviors, because with the way things were going now Iris wouldn't even be able to sit in class without passing out. Something was definitely going around and they had to solve it as soon as possible for Iris's sake.
