Irreversible Mistake

Not much time had passed since the incident at the secret garden, but it felt like weeks had already passed by. Both Ned and Kyria felt uneasy as they glanced at Iris's sleeping face. More importantly, her father had still not returned home yet. The anxiety building up in Ned's mind was taking a toll on his body, but likewise there was no way he could relax in this situation as bad as it was. He had a lot on his plate, including Kyria who just sat there looking into space. Ned could feel his despair, and understood why Kyria didn't dare to even look at Iris's face. Even though Iris's father is a kind man, he was once known as the ferocious beast that instilled fear in all of wolf kind. However, once he had met Iris's mom the rough exterior the man held began to melt. He started to live as a human to compensate her. Even when she had died he remained on this side of the world, making a living for his only daughter to keep her safe. The father originally wanted to send Iris to a normal human school, but it was them who begged the father to send her to this school. They had promised something huge to her and her father, yet look at what had happened.

Suddenly, a creak was heard towards the entrance of the house. Ned and Kyria knew that the time had finally come. They braced themselves, holding their breath as they exited Iris's room, a breath they didnt know they were holding. They greeted the man as calmly as they could, startling him in the process.

"Wow there, you boys scared me for a sec! Why are you guys just standing here like that?" He innocently questioned chuckling from the sudden fright. Seeing a pure smile coming from him weighted heavy on both their hearts. They could no longer keep the anxiety and grief locked with in them. As much as they wanted to laugh and smile along with the lonely man, there was no way they could ever mask the situation. Iris's father looked skeptically at them, seemingly confused because of the odd behavior they were displaying. Usually they would be chirpier and pleasant, especially Ned. However right now all he saw was a grim face that held tear filled eyes. As for Kyria, there was no way of seeing his face, since he held his head so low.

"Hey, seriously what wrong you guys? You look like you've just witnessed a murder. By the way where's Iris?" He reached out and grabbed Ned by the shoulder, making Ned look up. Sudden shock rained down on Iris's father, the usually happy Ned was crying hopelessly in front of him. That one question broke all of Ned's resolve, causing him to finally let go of everything. He knew he could no longer hold it in. He wanted to stay positive hoping that the situation would somehow improve, but it couldn't, nor will it ever. All the emotions that were built up inside of him suddenly broke free. For the the first time in years he sobbed into the man's arms, mumbling inaudible words. There was no reaction from Kyria until he fell to the floor with a loud impact that sounded quite painful, but he didn't care. He cradled his head into his hands as he trembled violently. The father rushed to his side hoping the boy hadn't injured himself from the impact earlier.

"Get a hold of yourself Kyria, this isn't like you at all. Tell me whats wrong with you guys. One of you please. Does it have anything to do with Iris?" he pleaded. That question pierced Kyria straight though the heart. He gripped the kind man by the shoulders, "I'm so sorry, sir. Its all our fault, If only we had stayed with her. If only we had got to her sooner" Million thought were going through the father's head but still he had not fully grasped the situation yet.

"What are you talking about?" He gave a humorous laugh hoping what Kyria said was a joke. He searched his face for any hope and looked over to Ned thinking the same, but he could find nothing. Iris's father began to lose his patience. He shook Kryia violently trying to get an answer out of him.

"I said, what the hell are you talking about?!" Fear struck deeply into Kyria's heart causing him to gasp and stumble upon his words.

"Iris...she...Oh my god! Im so sorry!" Kyria cried like a child begging for forgiveness. Her father didnt want to think of the worst case scenario, but something at the back of his head told him, Iris isnt okay at all. He dropped Kyria and rushed into Iris's bedroom. When he had entered, he saw his beloved daughter lying there asleep, but she was covered in multiple cuts and bruises. He knelt down to her side hold her hand in his mumbling 'are you ok's' and 'please wake up'. However no matter how much he called he knew she wouldn't wake up. Suddenly memories of his past wife and her death replayed like a record player in his head. He couldn't remember how many times he had dreamt of her death. All of it was too real for him and seeing Iris like this made him think once again, "Will Iris leave me too?"  The thought of him being left alone and losing yet another precious person in his life brought him into despair drowning himself in his own insanity. The blood inside him began to boil causing his beastly desires, that had once slumbered deeply, to awaken. He was no longer had a control of his emotions, in fact he was no longer the same person. The once kind man without delay walked back to the entrance, suddenly grabbing Kyria by the neck. Panic and fear drenched them both. There was nothing Ned could do to help his friend but watch in fear as the once gentle man transformed into a terrifying beast.

"Now tell me what happen before i snap your puny neck in half." he snarled at the two, "If you don't ill kill you right here and now..... WHAT HAPPENED TO MY DAUGHTER?!" Ned looked into the mans eyes and nearly suffocated him seeing hollow they had become. He knew he had to do something fast before the father really killed Kyria.

"W-wait, I-ill tell you so please let go of him before he dies!" The man just glared at him oozing pure hatred as he let go of his friend who was coughing and gasping on the floor, trying to catch his breath. Ned ran to his aid trying to ease his pain the best he could, but before that he had no choice but to satisfy the beast before he killed them both. He began to explain what happened from the moment they left her to the point where they found her lying on the ground.

"It all started with...."

                 ************************

A small whistle from a distance was heard. It had a soft melodic tune that put anyone to sleep. Iris woke up to that odd tune, but only to realize it was a dream. Even though it was a dream she was aware of the fact this time, which creeped her out a bit. Nonetheless she was enjoying the sudden tranquility, considering the turn of evens that had occurred earlier.

"Was that a dream too?" Iris had wondered as she extended her arms up to the sky, being engulfed by the bright light. As she remembered the sudden event, a shiver was send down her spine. its was all too real to be fake. The fear she felt in that situation was indescribable, because no matter how much she cried they wouldnt stop. She didnt ever want to feel like that again. As different scenarios ran through her head, the comfortable tune that had been playing stopped. From a distance a strange shadow had appeared. At first glance, the shadow looked like a mere illusion that had just come and go, however that was not the case. Without a second delay the shadow appeared directly in front of her, graciously standing. The shadow had a distinct shape, almost like a wolf's.

"We meet again, my child." Said the figure in a calming voice. Even though figure wasn't quite clear, its voice was powerful and energetic. The voice didn't scare Iris one bit, on the contrary it only kept her calm.

"Who are you?" Iris questioned with a soft voice. The figure just chuckled, finally revealing itself. In front of her stood a wolf with white fur that matched her porcelain white hair. It's eyes shined yellow, almost like gold, identical to Iris's.

"Oh my child, no need to panic. It must be odd to find someone who had the same features as yourself im sure. This eye color of ours is truly rare but its also a gift." Iris looked at the wolf with confusion clearly written on my face. "A gift? How can that be?" Iris thought as she shook her head showing her disagreement.

"Are you sure it's a gift? I find it nothing more than a curse since all its brought me is misfortune." Pain was painted on Iris's face as she remembered the abuse she suffered. She felt like she was going to cry

"Why does this always happen to me?"  She whimpered. Suddenly a pair of arms engulfed her into a hug. She couldn't see the person's face but she knew there was nothing to fear. The sorrow in her heart was released all at once and she began to sob endlessly into the stranger's arms. Minutes, maybe even hours must have passed, but Iris had finally stopped crying. Somehow, being in the presence of this person reminded Iris of the time her mother used to be alive. Almost every thing about this person was the same. The smell, the touch, everything but the odd features. She look up at the woman hugging her. She had long white hair that drapped the both of them and her eyes that glittered gold. It took Iris awhile to realize that the person sitting in front of her was the same wolf that appeared earlier. Even though her face was unbelievably beautiful, there was a large scar that ran across her face and her cheek. It kind of scared Iris but she knew the woman was harmless, so Iris extended her hand to touch the painless scar.

"Hehe, what's with the long stares? Like my scars that much?" Iris's face blushed red as she let out a squeal in embarrassment. "You're so cute." She lets out a small laugh.

"U-um excuse me? Who are you really and what is happening to me? A--" before Iris could finish her sentence a loud sound was heard. She close her eyes and ears out of instinct. However, when she opened them again the lady was gone. It was just her sitting in the middle of nowhere. Iris clenched her hands into a fist, "Hey?! Please wait, you still haven't told me who you are yet and exactly what that power was? Please don't leave me I have so much to ask?" Iris begged desperately but there was no answer. The tears began to fill her eyes a again, making her feel like the only hope she had was lost again.

"What's this? Crying again? Silly, I'm not leaving you. I just cant keep this physically body for long, plus this isn't our last meeting. I'll come again and next time I explain everything to you I promise, but for now I think it's time you wake up. There is no time for you to worry about me. Those who care for you are suffering deeply now, only you can relinquish their hearts. Now wake up sweet heart." Her voice echoed in Iris's head. She didn't want her to leave. Iris still had more questions and she was scared. "What if the worst has already happen? What if Kyria and Ned had already abandoned me?" Iris cried to herself.

Before Iris had any harbored thoughts left to spare she felt herself beginning to awaken. Her whole body felt heavy as she opened her eyes. "How long has it really been since I was asleep?" She whispered to herself. Suddenly a loud bang was heard past Iris's door, followed by a ear piercing shriek. She balanced herself at the side of the bed, trying to walk as she used the wall for support. Another bang was heard this time louder. Iris took no delay in opening the door in front of her.

Iris could not believe what she was witnessing. Her dear friends were being strangled half to death by her own father. Iris felt herself freeze. As much as she wanted to go help her friends, the fear spreading through her body was too great. She intently watched her father's beastly face as his fangs seeped out and saliva everywhere. She couldn't take it anymore. With whatever amount of courage she had left with in her, she used it to stop her dad. She hugged him as tight as she could begging to let her friends go.

"Father, please stop I beg of you!! Let them go!!!" Iris cried as her tears stained the back of her father's shirt. The man grew stiff and finally let the poor boys go, having them fall to the floor in violent coughing fits. Iris ran to their aid while sobbing her heart out whispering  'Im sorries' to them. They were losing blood but Iris felt helpless. Before they could say anything, they had already lost their consciousness. The violent man grew less violent as he gazes at his daughter. He had himself calmed down finally realizing the damage he had caused. The house was no longer in it normal shape.

"I-iris is that you?!" He almost felt like he was seeing a ghost looking. He roughly pulled her up into a hug.

"Oh my God! Thank god youre okay! I dont know what I would have if you had left me too. Please dont go, I'm nothing without you!!" Her father cried himself to sleep. Everything was a mess. Her friends were badly hurt. Her father was broken. She was nearly raped. What the hell had she done to deserve all this? The hopelessness in her heart grew. Iris could not find the answer at all, but she did know something and that was how things have started to change. At this rate it was a change for the worse. Suddenly she felt a presence in her heart and that man had appeared. She had wondered 'Did he have a role in all of this? '
