Three Rank 1 Slaves!

The three men in front of the carriage didn't even have a chance to scream, or move before a bony rotten body crawling on the ground crashed into them.

"Kraa!"

The Taoist-robe wearing men hurriedly dropped the carriage and ran towards the demon with torches in their hands.

"He-help!! NO, don't eat me! "

The monster locked its long, bony legs around a white-haired core disciple and stated at his eyes. A playful glint was in its eyes as it looked at the man scream his throat out.

Yuan Ming dug his hand into the man's back and roared at his face; a small amount of foamy black liquid left his mouth and landed on his face.

"AAAAHHH! IT BURNS, IT BURNSS!!! "

The man in one fell swoop fell to the ground with smoke emitting from his now-bony head. The flesh on his face had melted in few seconds.

Seeing this, the other core disciples felt a sharp sense of fear and a squeamish feeling in their stomachs. They pointed at the now-dazed and uninterested creature and yelled, "W-what, is that?! "

Yuan Ming was uninterested in them and instead focused on the corpse in front of him. The white-haired man was instantly dead after he spit his disease at him. And even if he didn't, the wound he dug into his back would've quickly taken him out. The spit he threw at his face melted it.

Judging by the essence leaking from his navel, Yuan Ming deduced him to be Rank 1. The others accompanying him didn't look to be strong either…

[Eating a lower-tier body has minimal effect on your Rank. I advise you to enslave this group to do your biddings…and help you spread the plague.]

"Filthy evil spirit, your time has come! "

One of the core disciples took a brown talisman and a jade slip from the carriage and began chanting taoist hymns. Yuan Ming stood still and waited for them to attack – he wanted to know how strong he was.

Taking his stillness as a gesture of weakness, the core disciple weakly sighed and shattered the jade slip at Yuan Ming's direction.

Nothing happened.

Literally nothing happened.

Blood escaped the man's face as he screamed, "It's a Rank 2 Evil Spirit, run!!! Call the elde— hoaak, ghhg… "

His screams were silenced after Yuan Ming spit a stream of diseased liquid at his face. Just like his friend from before, his face melted and he died.

The mortal Taoists screamed in fear and ran away! Yuan Ming didn't plan to leave any of them alive however…

He looked back at one of the corpses lying on the ground and discovered a slight resonance with it.

‹If you can hear me, kill that man! I am your lord, obey me!›

The dead body's eyes opened…

Seeing the corpse alive, Yuan Ming ran after the other people , and ignored the third core disciple. Who thanked his nineteen generations and was just about to run away too before…

A hand rose from the ground and pulled him downwards. It didn't take long before he was subdued on top of the dead man's body.

The core disciple's eyes began to rain tears of fear as he gazed at the bony head glaring at him. It couldn't be…Disciple Huang was dead?! How was his skeleton alive?!

"B-brother Huang…N-no, you can't do this! No-aaah!! "

The undead grunt swiftly clawed the man's behind and infected him. The disciple on top of him wanted to escape, but couldn't due to the undead's grip on his back.

Soon, almost fifteen minutes later, the man felt drowsy after his skin turned slightly brown. His eyes…soon closed as he fell asleep.

Yuan Ming came running with, this time with dozens of bodies inside his stomach. The life-essence he devoured from the mortals couldn't even fill his mouth, much less his Core. At least, they were tasty.

He looked at the two dead bodies sprawled on the ground, and the other guy who wasn't dead yet.

‹You two…take that infected man with you into that cave and hide. I'll be back soon!›

The two undead growled and ran towards the cave with the man; swiftly executing his order.

Yuan Ming was surprised that they actually obeyed his command. He thought he'd fail again.

‹Now that it's over… what's inside that carriage?›

Yuan Ming scurried towards the carriage and unlocked its doors. From the looks of it, it was a merchant carriage built to store valuables. He opened the doors and saw a mountain of neatly organized banners and talismans. They didn't even scare him as he went inside and tried to bite them.

Unfortunately, he found out that he couldn't absorb inanimate beings… after he swallowed a talisman. He felt like he ate a piece of dry paper.

‹I'm never eating this again, bleh.›

Yuan Ming jumped off the carriage, and just when he was about to leave, the writing on one of the banners caught his eyes.

'Green Jade Sect — Star City Guardian'

His lip bones twisted into a grin as burning hatred festered his soul. The days he spent in the slum reminded him of unpleasant memories about that sect.

'Guardian my ass. Bunch of hypocrites…›

Remembering something he wanted to do, Yuan Ming ran out of the forest, right into the boundaries of Star City. He didn't forget to take a hooded robe from one of the taoists though, in case he needed it.

..

The night sky above the Star City shimmered with brightness. It was night-time and for the residents of the city, a very special day.

From the chimneys and exhausts of every house, regardless of whether it was a mansion or a shack, came out warm smoke that bedazzled the sky. The streets were filled with small children jumping and singing jaunty songs…

The forest beside the city gates were tightly barricaded and secured for the day, for no one could underestimate the effects an untoward Beast Horde could do in such a festive event. But as usual, travelers formed a huge line outside the gates for entry.

Hidden among the trees, Yuan Ming gazed at the tall walls of the city and expressed delight. He didn't dare to go forward, as tens of guards were keenly watching the gates and the crowd.

Yuan Ming could've tried to wear the robes and enter the crowd, but the horrendous smell on his body would give him away!

The reason he came here was to see if he could…enslave the entire city. It was an insane and possibly foolish idea, but it didn't hurt to try. The first thing he had to check was the strength level of the people in the city. And due to his senses as a Plague Lord, he could figure out the essence levels of a living being from far, far away

[I detect a few strong auras from inside the city. Three of them Rank 3, while one is a peak Rank 3 cultivator. They shouldn't be too hard for you to kill, but you can't take down that many of them alone either…]

[Infecting anyone in in that crowd would be a solid death wish. Furthermore, they're only mortals. But even mortals can come in use…well, if you can enslave at least fifty of them.]

[I sense many life-forms 100 li into the forest. Quick, let us go there. We shall build a Stronghold there and create a Blight Revenant!]

Yuan Ming immediately turned around and sprinted through the forest.
