Chapter 1 : Swordsman on the meadow

In close proximity of the City of Scholars stands a meadow high enough to oversee the tall skyscrapers, buildings and citizen bustling about. Thanks to the protectors of The Land Of Dawn, the inhabitants can live in peace knowing that they won't be getting attacked or ambushed while doing everyday chores. Laying on the meadow is a man, or rather a cyborg enjoying the peace of the land along with the citizens in the city.

This man's name is Saber, though he could be called a Spacetime Swordsman or Regulator of Demons to some for he could travel through time and space easily through his inhumane swordsmanship and slices demons without mercy or a second thought. He has slick sky blue hair that always lays on his head, an orange sunglass visor the covers his eyes despite nighttime, a robot like suit completed with a motherboard at the front and metal padding on his shoulders. He doesn't remember why or how he got to the city, but he was programmed by someone to finish one tasks : Protect the Land Of Dawn.

And so he travelled across the land defeating demon by demon, giving it his all in every battle. No matter the wounds, no matter the damage, he would fight until the day had dusk. Even when he traveled to the furthest part of the land, he would always return back to the city for it felt like a home to him, just like the lab he used to live in, without the constant chatting and checking of the scientists of course.

"The people here are kind and caring to me, as if I were their own family" Saber thought while watching the sun sink under the Northern Mountains. The castle made of ice that sat atop the mountain shimmered under the glow of the setting sun, but never melting to the heat. Saber could feel the cool breeze of the never ending East to West wind billowing across his cheek, the few strands of hair that were across his face were blown away as the wind got stronger by the minute. Though he was a fighter, he enjoyed peace instead of the blood curling screams of his enemies of getting drenched in blood and sweat after a long battle.

Saber lay down on the ever slightly moving grass that grazed his cheek and felt two long but thin figures behind his back. He reached behind and grabbed out two long nanoblades. The swords had a metal grip on them and metal surrounding the back of the blades. It looked like holograms of katanas as it's blue and semi-transparent. They were as strong as steel, as durable as rock, as light as a feather, but most importantly thin enough to cut through time and space. They were his prized possession, the symbol that he could fight for others and a reminder to him so that the lab will always be remembered.

He caress the blades using his reinforced gloves, he may be made of metal but the blades could cut through skin as easily as paper, while relieving memories of old battles, he hadn't used it for a while now, he didn't have any need to as the land was currently at peace. "The demon hunters must have taken care of the few demons trying to terrorize the inhabitants, serves them right" he thought. The blade illuminated under the light of the sun that was dipping down under the mountains, giving it an iridescent glow and light yellowish hue, making it looking as green as the grass around him.

While remembering one of the more gruesome battles, the sun disappeared behind the mountains and Saber snapped out of his trance and took a glance at the city once again. The citizens were all returning back to their futuristic houses and lights on the skyscrapers were dimming. Slowly, he closed his eyes to doze off for the day on the meadow for he did not require heat insulation so he preferred relaxing on the land and occasionally stargazing the light sky. Though he did not need to sleep, he had to let his system cool down once in while or it would overheat and possibly melt some important mechanisms, all he needed to do was not move for a few hours and he was good to go.

Feeling himself falling into a trance as close to human sleep as possible, he could hear the wind billowing across the grass, the chirping of birds slowly settling into a more harmonious tune as they were getting ready to hit the sack and the occasional sound of a cricket hiding in the grass. Out of the blue came a high pitched scream coming from one of the alleys close by that pierced the silence like a knife. Saber jolted up, awaken by the scream and immediately rushed to the source of the scream, praying he wouldn't be too late to help whoever in danger of being attack. Hoping this was just a prank or a small time evil-doer because, the last thing the land needs is another war.
