Questions

What did I need to eat?

I suddenly realized that I hadn't needed to eat, drink or relieve myself since yesterday. Was it just a matter of hadn't needed to yet? Or do I no longer have those concerns?

I puzzled over this for a while, and I guess it showed on my face that I was busy thinking, because the question wasn't repeated.

After extensive thinking, the answers came not from my conscious thought, but from feedback that my body received from subconscious actions. For example, scratching my head, rubbing inside my ear, and attempting to clean sleep away from my eyes.

The feedback was that this body didn't seem to generate any of the biological byproducts that a normal human body would. No earwax, dandruff or sleep.

In short, this was body was closer to a highly detailed mannequin a Human body.

Which after some reflection I decided was for the best. Otherwise I would be causing environmental disasters wherever I go... Oh, thinking back to the minor Tsunamis I caused yesterday at a few points, maybe it would be 'more' environmental disasters.

I mean if I was in a normal human body, I would be causing new hills and ponds by going to the bathroom.

While I was thinking about all of the awkward situations having normal biological functions would cause, my thoughts strayed to a particular subject that some men often think of, only to suddenly realize that a particular biology function was very much still there, and just as easily responsive as when I was a normal human.

Well this is awkward. What is the point of this function still being intact? It's not like I have seen any women large enough to procreate with.

Pushing these thoughts to the side, I leaned toward the group I had been chatting with, and answered them.

"It doesn't seem like I need to eat so far. Or drink water for that matter. Oh, let your Queen know that since this area has been rendered unusable for most other purposes, I'm claiming it as my resting place."

I saw them discuss, and blue sparkles flashing, before eventually I received a reply.

"Her Majesty is okay with you claiming this section of land as long as you promise not to harm any of her subjects. She has further decreed that this area shall be declared off limits to her subjects without special permission from herself, and prior notice to you of a visit.

She has said that the purpose of this decree is so that you may assume that anyone in the area without prior notice is not one of Her Majesty's subjects, and may be dealt with as you wish"

In other words, I can assume anyone invading my privacy after this point is from a different Kingdom, unless she sends me a message huh?

Well it looks like the blue sparkles that they have used to talk with me, is normally a long distance communication spell.

"Just curious, but why do your communication spells give off blue sparkles when you cast them?"

"You can see the mana being used?"

I see them discussing something, and two of their number go stand a small distance away from the rest.

"What colour do you see when he casts?"

The speaker points at one of the two individuals, who casts something that causes red sparkles, before a bolt of fire flies from his hand into the dirt a few inches away. Or a fewer inches from my perspective at least.

"Red sparkles for that one"

He points at the other individual, who casts something with green sparkles, and a dome of force surrounds him.

"Green sparkles. Is that a Shield spell?"

I reach over to touch the dome, but it dissapears right before I can make contact. The figure who had been casting it collapses to his knees, and seems to be gasping for breath.

"How... you just casually broke a dome of invulnerability? But those don't break no matter how much mana you expend normally"

"Is your guy there okay? He doesn't look so good"

"Oh, he's just suffering from Mana depletion... wait, he is suffering from Mana depletion, which means that the dome, one of the most cost efficient spells, was broken by not enough mana to sustain it? What exactly did you do?"

"I just tried to touch it, to see what it would feel like. But I didn't even get to make contact before it disappeared."

The caster seems to have recovered a little, because he started gesturing something to the speaker.

This led to a series of tests by the group until I eventually said enough.

The results can be summed up as anything with red, or green sparkles dissapears at a distance of about an inch from my skin. Blue sparkles magic is unaffected. Additionally I learned that there is also purple sparkle magic.

My personal classification of the magic after observations, is that anything that would be considered an attack seems to have red sparkles, so I'm dubbing it Offensive magic. Green sparkles seems to be Defensive magic. Purple is debuff, and blue is buff or support magic.

Only Support magic seems to work on me, so whatever prevents the other kinds of magic doesn't seem to be universal, but rather a filter of some kind.

Queen Kiera listened to the relayed report from the Mages. She found herself feeling increasingly puzzled by the behavior of the Titan. Why did he let them conduct the experiments on him? Most people would hate to be treated like a lab rat, but this Titan had been actively participating?

"This doesn't make sense!"

"Well your Majesty, the fact that he has all of the power in this situation might be the major factor at play.

From his perspective, he's humouring tiny beings who don't pose any threat to him.

Kind of like if you suddenly found Ants capable of talking to you, who suddenly started asking you all sorts of questions."

Queen Kiera stared at Julian for a while, before finally asking "How did you know what I was thinking?"

"Your Majesty? You said it out loud though?"

Seeing the nods from the other advisors, she decided that she obviously needed sleep, and concluded the meeting.

As she walked towards her Chambers with the intent of getting some rest, she thought about how this development would affect her kingdom.

Overall it was mostly a net gain. Her Kingdom was already receiving diplomatic overtures from other kingdoms, who were seeking to avoid conflict that the Titan might decide to get involved with.

Additionally the fact that he didn't require food was also a bonus.

But she was still worried about the fact that if something were to upset him, they had no means to protect themselves from him, and that was a major drawback in her books.

She needed some method to get him emotionally invested in the protection of her Kingdom, but the usual tools such as arranged marriage were useless in this case.

Suddenly an idea came to her, and she had a servant summon Archmage Julian, and tasked him with researching a spell...
