A searing pain awoke me from my deep sleep. I lunged forward my breath heavy as sweat dripped down my forehead. Looking around I quickly recalled the lustrous man and the absolutely insane words he had spoken only moments before. A guardian angel, this couldn't be happening, I was dead and a dead person couldn't help anyone let alone save them from the same thing I had done only a few days ago. As I pondered this situation a flutter from behind drew me from my thoughts. I looked back to see a pair of incredible alabaster black wings, they were mine and I immediately felt their presence which filled me with strength and a calmness I'd never felt before. The wings looked huge compared to my 5'9 frame they wrapped around me with warmth and assurance. Sitting up I finally had a chance to take in my surroundings. An incredible scene was before me, large alabaster monuments showing angelic figures I'd never even imagined were real. A crystal clear river ran through the center of what seemed to be a very large garden and at the center of this garden a great waterfall rained down seemingly from nowhere. As I gazed at this wonderful land a hand gently clasping my shoulder startled me, "woah, it's ok my names Ezekial and you must be Lj our newest member", this incredible angel was staring down at me his eyes like that of pure gold with silver mixed in. His face firm and chiseled from his years of apparent service to whatever we were doing here, but he showed a tender side, a side knowing what I had done to myself and a truly sympathetic action of a gentle hug. "You're home now little one and it is your duty from now on to help us save as many earthly souls that we can", I looked at the angelic figure, "what if I can't save anyone, what if I'm horrible at my job and people end up dead anyways". My eyes blurred as tears slipped down I couldn't handle failing in this life as I had in my last it was too much. Ezekial knelt before me, "little one you have so much love and care to give it is flowing from you as we speak, you must take on this duty and the more lives you save the more your own soul shall heal and you're wings shall become as bright as mine if not more so", resting a hand on my shoulder he continued. "We must save those that would harm themselves, every suicide can be prevented, but we do have an enemy, the dark ones that traverse the underworld looking for damed souls to forever serve them", he looked on grimly almost in a trance as he spoke of these horrors. "As guardians it is our job to protect these souls, but every guardian will come to a cross in the road and have to choose between light and dark, that is why your wings are black now, you were touched by the darkness and as you cleanse the souls of the humans your soul too shall be cleansed." I stared blankly ahead this information was crazy to me, I could become something dark, something that wanted to harm others I didn't see myself ever choosing that path. I looked at my wings their darkness was still hauntingly beautiful to me, but I know I wanted to be cleansed and save as many souls as I could. I wanted to give those poor desperate people the help I never received. "Teach me how to save them, I want to help bring the light to the world below", I smiled at Ezekial as his aura seemed to glow brighter at my statement. "Let us begin immediately then", he stood giving me his hand as I stood next to him ready for the adventure I was embarking on.
