A Journey of Thousand Years

In the empty void of space, among the stars, our sun shone bright. Until a ginormous ship comes into the scene and flies quite a few light minutes away from it. It is rather abnormal in shape, like an oval fitted with four extensions, each having a prism-like cabin attached to it. The ship soars through space at a steady speed. Inside the ship, aliens with human-like physiques are working on their stations. Wearing skin tight overalls, complimentary to their grayish blue skin. One of them is sitting around a round table on a chair that is superior to others aboard the ship.

"We are approaching solar system 782 inside galaxy G-47. The third planet in this system seems to sustain life and is habitable for us. " A servant kneeling down says

"We will take a break here and then proceed with our journey forward. "Lower the ship's speed." The Captain replies while looking at the image of the planet.

He tightens his eyebrows. Suddenly, the entire ship jerks and he grabs onto his chair to take support.

"What was that?" He questions his servant immediately as he glares at him.

The servant looks down at his wrist and taps open a holographic display of the surrounding space. He then looks at three red dots on the map.

"It's the bounty hunters. It seems they have caught up to us, Captain," Servant replies.

"Hard starboard, take them off our tail immediately." Captain yells

"Roger that" The servant on the command deck turns the ship and everyone on the deck slips to the side while holding on to anything they can find.

The Captain places himself on his chair and looks at the planet on his display. He quickly thinks of an idea to evade the pursuers.

"Take the ship straight into the atmosphere of that planet and stay between the clouds until I command."

The servant pulls a lever and quickly taps on the console. The ship zooms at full speed towards the planet.

The bounty hunter ship follows behind, watching the ship engage warp speed. In the blue sky of the planet, the ship soars through storm clouds, and behind it, the bounty hunter ships. The bounty hunter ships try to lock on to the ship, but due to poor visibility and lightning, the ships have a hard time keeping up. The captain of the ship smiles and leans back proudly as the bounty hunter ship loses the ship inside the storm cloud. The three bounty hunter ships keep a bare minimum distance between each other as they pass through the cloud and end up in a clear, bright blue sky.

But as soon as their systems start functioning properly, they notice a red dot popping right behind their ship.

"Fire!" The captain orders

Every gun on the ship starts firing at the bounty hunters and two of the ships get heavily damaged, making them unable to operate. The remaining one thrusts forward to escape the fire.

"Chase it down."

"Captain, what about the other two?"

"Gravity will do its job." He smirks quite devilishly.

The ship zooms forward and tries to lock on to the escaping ship. They engage in a fast cross action dogfight but due to the large size of the ship, it has a hard time maneuvering like the bounty hunter. The bounty hunter quickly turns around and deals a heavy blow to the ship. The systems set off an alarm aboard the ship and the captain looks agitatedly at the bounty hunter. He looks at his servant and without even saying a word, he understands what he wants to say. The captain looks outside the ship and walks off the deck.

"Return fire on the bounty hunter. Engage every defense system available. Shoot that thing down," he commands the entire deck.

The captain moves through the lobby as sudden shocks reach him from all the fighting going on outside. He opens a door to a huge room. At the center of the room, a large cylindrical structure is present. Through the glass, in the middle, the captain looks inside it.

"It cannot land in the hands of these filthy bounty hunters or their masters. I made a promise to the Emperor. Time has come to honor it. "

He steps back and taps on a little switch coming out of the ground. A console emerges from the ground. He rapidly taps on the console as tension grows on his face. The room starts shifting and the cylinder gets covered by another cylinder and then a jaw like a gate locks up the cylinder. The captain looks around and unhooks a spear from a small cabinet in the room. He chants a spell in a foreign dialect and the tip glows while radiating a sphere around it.

Everything gets wrapped up inside the huge growing sphere of light and then everything solidifies. The portion inside the sphere has condensed and formed a layer of protection around it with the captain and the cylinder inside it.

The ships are still engaged in a deadly battle as they keep locking onto each other and landing hits on each other. As the battle goes on, the bounty hunter loses its functioning engine and swoops into the ship rather than away from it. The collision swirls both the ships out of control, sending them into free fall.

"Is this the end?" A servant says he is discouraged by the scenario.

"We lived with honor, now we must die with it." The captain's servant replies and everyone aboard holds onto something or each other and both the ships soar down towards the land.

The impact blows the ships to smithereens. Through all the debris of the crash, the sphere created by the spear survives, with some surrounding parts of the ship still intact. The crash is loud enough to alert the nearby animals. The smoke from the ship rises high in the sky.

Whatever the ship was carrying is now bare on the ground or so they thought. Thousands of years pass and the ship gets enveloped by the earth while the landscape changes and it gets grounded below the earth's surface. The precious cargo is lost forever.
