The Broken Hunter

Seeing the incoming strike Lucas spun his body, narrowingly escaping the attack whilst managing to escape into Therion's blind spot.


Lucas felt the power that nearly claimed his life, was probably the strongest he's ever experienced so far. What a monster, I shouldn't meet him head on and block his strikes even if I had my gears was here, Lucas analyzed the huge enemy whom he had already left a few meters back.


Therion clicked his tongue as he saw the strike being dodged by the enemy and also managing to escape him.


The knights that saw Lucas running towards Elena blocked Lucas off.


Seeing the wall of armored knights that blocked his goal, the unarmed Lucas stopped in his feet and considered what to do next.


Elena saw the sweating Lucas in the gaps of the knights.


Elena clenched her teeth in pain, with eyes of unwilling determination, Elena stood up, she put her hands on the shoulder of the knights as she pushed them away and painfully, weakly screamed to his confused husband.


Hearing the struggling Elena who told him to save their son, at first he decided to ignore it, but after seeing the eyes of his wife, he clenched his fist hard enough for it to bleed, despite the many calluses he had in his every day labor and turned to run to find his son.


And said his final words that his wife may hear, but although he knew that Elena would suffer the undefiable fate awaiting before her, STILL Lucas yelled full of hope for his wife, he hoped that they would get out of this predicament and finally someday live where peace is unperturbed, so that his own past doesn't haunt him and his family.


The sight of Lucas running made Elena sighed in relief.


'The killing machine I once knew, is now a great father'


Whispered Elena to herself, as a single tear ran down through her cheek and finally, ever slowly closed her heavy eyes.... and forever be at peace. With a thud, her body weakly fell.


The knights fastly responds to Lucas' actions and quickly got to their mounts and ran after him.


Clark looked at Elena's once moving body and gently touched her cold body.


Therion walked besides Clark and looked at Elena.


"So she's the runaway daughter of the duke, huh?"


"What a fool, she ran and just wasted her once a given life besides that man in this shitty place"


Clark coldly glanced at the huge man who was muttering how misfortune Elena lived, 'I'm pretty sure she didn't regret anything'


thought Clark as he saw the faint smile of Elena that spread through her soft cheeks.


Clark irritatingly asked to Therion as he scratched his head.


"Once the 'Demon' is killed, the King said he would like to give the bounty to the man who found and reported him personally"


Therion threateningly looked at the assassin besides him.


He didn't approve of the King wasting half the treasury of the kingdom, just to buy the services of this vile and deceptive assassins.


"As expected of cowards who hide in the shadows"


Therion mockingly said to Clark, in which the latter only gave him a smile.


"Well I'm pretty sure those knights wouldn't be able to catch them then?"


"Are you telling me my men are incompetent?!"


Look at this fool who only knows how to swing their arms like a bunch of apes,


Heh! knights they call themselves, more like primates.


Now that I've seen for myself how stupid these apes are, the chances they only have at capturing or killing Lucas are miniscule, even if they were mounted.
