Can someone tell me why the fuck Jiraiya is in Uzu right now? Seriously, I thought we came he-

THAT DAMN BUS DRIVER! FUCK!

"I know you're conscious kid, answer the question"

Fuckfuckfuck

"My companion is an Uzumaki. I thought I would take her to her homeland"

Jiraiya hummed in interest and walked over to Akari

'I couldn't even hear him move…'

He put a hand on the redhead's forehead, making her grunt, and sent a small pulse of chakra into it

There was silence for a moment before he got up and walked over to me

"Get some sleep kid, we will talk tomorrow"

And walked out…

"What the fuck?"

_

I didn't end up sleeping for the rest of that night. Eventually. Akari woke up and I corralled her outside without washing up, slightly eager and scared to meet the Sannin

It took a little while to find the man, but eventually we found him shuffling through our stash that we collected the previous day

"You know, these were sealed away for a reason, right?"

I froze, seeing as how the man noticed us without even turning around

"Akari has a right to inherit the artifacts in Uzushio seeing as how she's one of the last Uzumaki. Are you going to try and stop us?"

The man sighed and turned to face us with a stony look

"That's the thing kid, your little companion there is only Half Uzumaki. Even if she wanted to take everything here, she would need to be a seal master on the level of a Uzumaki Master to Grandmaster or be a pureblood to even have a chance of unlocking most of these things, let alone the Clan library or the Council Treasury…"

Fuck, there goes all of my plans for the near future…

"You said she was half Uzumaki" I pointed to Akari who was hiding behind me, still confused at who we were talking to

"What's the other half? Do you know?"

He looked impressed that I picked up on that and grinned a little bit

"What makes you think I'll tell you?"

Oh, he wants to play like that, hmm?

"I can tell Akari what you do for a living. She hates pervs and I'm sure you know what an angry Uzumaki looks like…"

Jiraiya paled and gave me a pleading look, to which my grin widened

"Oh, you're good kid, I like you. To tell you the truth, I couldn't accurately tell what the other half is. Tsunade is much better than us at the diagnosis pulse. From what I could identify, it was some sort of Kiri or Kumo blood. Pretty sure the only way you're going to learn anything else is if you find and convince Tsunade to check her out"

I nodded and glanced over to the girl, whom was still warily examining Jiraiya from behind me. It wasn't what I would have liked to hear but better than I could have gotten

Jiraiya started digging through one of his packs on his side and pulled out a couple of small scrolls before beginning to seal our stash inside them

"Woah! What are you doing??"

The sannin looked back to my wide eyes and grinned

"I'll tell you two what, you were planning to go back to Wave after this right?"

I nodded, not really getting at what he was implying

"So, I'll give you some sealing lessons and train you in some of the basics for a month or so. I need to stay around this area for some business in Kiri, so it's a bit of a Win-Win for us. It also helps that I like you kid"

Huh?

Seriously?

"Oi, Oi kid don't fa-"

_

"Aghhh~ Owwww"

"Careful kid, you hit your head pretty hard there on the floor"

Jiraiya? Hit my head?

"What happened?"

"I offered to train you and fainted right after"

Oh right…

TRAIN ME?! WHAT??

"What the hell do you mean, train me?! You're a freaking Sannin!! Don't you have responsibilities??"

I know for sure he has his spy network to maintain, plus Konoha shit

"Didn't I already tell you? I have to stay around Kiri for a while for some business. Seeing as how I'm one of the few people that can teach your little girlfriend over there sealing, along with the fact I taught one of her clan members and one of my students wife was also an Uzumaki, it'd hurt my conscience to not teach you at least something"

Commenced sputtering and blushing from Akari for the girlfriend comment

I put a hand up to my chin and began to think about it

'On one hand, training with Jiraiya of all people would totally boost my abilities far further than what they currently are now. I could get info on Konoha and the timeline as well. I haven't heard anything about Kurama attacking Konoha yet on my travels, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened…'

'On the other hand, what would he actually teach me? He's promised basic training on sealing and more than likely shinobi basics, but would he have a hands off approach for it? Would he even consider teaching me the Rasengan or letting me sign the toad Contract? Ok, no that would never happen, but still'

My eyes shot towards the man and examined every bit of his face to see if he was lying or hiding something but I couldn't find anything of worth..

Akari, who was watching from the corner of the room we were in on one of the few little stools that weren't blasted to pieces - still shy about the comment from before, shook me out of my thoughts with a comment

"Uhh.. You two keep talking about these Uzumaki.. Who are they?"

Jiraiya shot me a look to which I shrugged with my own and then looked over to the girl

"What's your last name?"

She did a cute head tilt

"What's that?"

Seriously? I know she didn't say it when we first met but I thought it was something like she was afraid to mention it or something. That explains why she was so confused why we went here…

Jiraiya shot me another look which I ignored

"Akari, this place was your homeland. Uzushiogakure was the homeland to the Uzumaki before they were wiped out. You are an Uzumaki"

She froze for a moment before making eye contact with me

"How do you know? Why are you so certain?"

I pointed to her hair

"Uzumaki were known for their blood red hair. You might not act like a typical clan member, but your inherent knowledge to identify seals makes us so certain. It also helps that Jiraiya over here checked you out and said you were at least half Uzumaki"

I could tell that it was a lot to take in for her. She was probably wondering about her family for a good portion of her life and to find out they've been wiped out so suddenly like this is quite a big shock

"If you need some time al-"

"No! No I'm fine…"

That was a clear lie, but I won't try and force her to do anything

Jiraiya and I both looked at each other before nodding and slowly exiting the room. Akari said nothing

"Before you say anything, I thought she already knew. Bringing it up so soon either way would have been traumatic"

The man sighed and ruffled my hair

"I picked up on that but it would've happened sooner or later, especially here. Blaming you would solve nothing"

I nodded and we stood there in silence for a moment before the Sannin sent me a grin

"So, training? Yes or no?"

You really have to ask?
