Chapter 279: I'll Make You Beg For Mercy Tonight (part one)

Kevin suddenly thought of something and hurried to the study to open his laptop. He remembered that he sent a friend request to Leena's QQ the other day. If she wouldn't answer his calls, maybe she would see his QQ message! Luckily, he memorized her QQ account and opened a new account to add her as friend. He hoped that she had confirmed his friend request while turning on his laptop. He didn't have a QQ account before; the only reason he signed up for it was because of Leena.

Leena had confirmed his request, and she was the only friend on his list. But she was offline. Kevin froze as he saw the grey profile picture. He couldn't reach her through here either. Where on earth had she gone? Maybe she went shopping, but then why was she bringing her laptop with her? And she should have been back at this hour of the night.

Kevin was puzzled. He sighed deeply, and thought no matter where she was, she must be somewhere safe. If anything happened to Leena, Duke would have punched him in his face the moment he saw him. However, given Duke's simple sarcastic words, he must know where Leena was. Kevin felt at ease when he thought of that. There was nothing he could do, he might as well wait for Leena to come back home. He knew although Leena was young and innocent, she was an independent girl with her own mind.

Daisy took a long hot bath after dinner; she was aching all over. The days of intense training had taken their toll. Also, she wanted to ponder Edward's parents' attitude towards her; she had no idea whether they liked her or not. Edward was the picture of insolence at dinner, poking at his father at every turn. But Jonathan didn't seem angry. He merely narrowed his eyes and gazed at his son with a ghost of smile on the corner of his lips.

Daisy realized that she had married into a family where every member seemed to have unique methods of communicating with each other, and she was completely dumbfounded by the new situation. Apart from Edward's rudeness to his father, Daisy was surprised to see how his father cared about his mother. Only then did Daisy finally realize why they were calm when Edward pulled her into his arms in front of them. It turned out that this kind of intimacy was nothing to them. Jonathan must love Cynthia deeply. He saw no one but his wife. His eyes followed her wherever she went, and everyone else in the room was invisible to him. It was difficult for Daisy to imagine that so strong and dominating a man like Jonathan would become so gentle in front of his wife until she saw it with her own eyes. Daisy believed they were madly in love with each other.

She smiled and shook her head, her face all rosy like fresh peaches because of the steam. She looked at herself in the mirror and changed into white pajamas. As soon as she emerged from the bathroom, someone grabbed her hand and pulled her forward. She was in his arms and kissing him before she even realized it. Edward's kiss was so passionate that she almost forgot to breathe.

Umm..." Daisy widened her watery eyes in surprise. Edward's handsome face was so close that her heart skipped a beat. She forgot about everything all of a sudden, including breathing.

"I told you, you need to breathe, " Edward whispered in her ear. Panting heavily, Daisy was out of breath.

"You caught me off-guard!" Daisy muttered, hitting his powerful chest in remorse. She always acted like a fool in front of him.

"I thought Colonel Ouyang would be capable of handling a sudden attack like this." Eyes fixed on Daisy, Edward wanted to keep her in his arms forever the moment he knew that she loved him.

"You mean like this?" Daisy kicked him before she finished speaking. While Edward howled in pain, she broke free from his grip and raised her eyebrows, smirking.

"Ow! Woman! You kicked me again? I swear I'll make you beg for mercy tonight!" Edward didn't see it coming. Daisy kicked him hard in the calf this time. Judging by the sharp pain, Edward knew Daisy was not as fragile as she looked.

"I thought Mr. Mu would be capable of handling a sudden attack like this." Daisy was smirking, with her eyes fixed on Edward and a naughty smile on her face.

"Great! You want to play games? You'll find that I'm a superb sportsman!" Edward narrowed his eyes, his lips curled into a dangerous smile. 'Very well, Daisy. Since you're the one started this, you'd better prepare yourself for what comes next.' Edward thought to himself.

"No, don't! Edward, I was only joking!" As soon as Daisy saw the look on Edward's face, she knew exactly what he was up to. 'I forgot! When he is annoyed he's a devil!' Daisy cried out in her mind, 'I bet he is figuring out how to tear me apart!'

"What? Quitting your own game? Isn't it too late? You've got me so turned on, " Edward said, slowly cornering Daisy, with a devilish smile on his face. He was the tiger, cornering his prey.

No, honey, please. Its all my fault. I shouldn't have kicked you. It worked every time to call Edward honey when Daisy had done something wrong. However, it didn't seem to work this time.

You mean, you plan to do more than just kick me? Edward stopped and watched her stagger backward. She had nowhere else to run.

Yes! I should have just knocked you out. It would have been easier, Daisy blurted out without thinking what kind of consequences her carelessness would bring. She enjoyed bickering with Edward. Although she was a powerful Colonel in the army, she was only an innocent little woman in front of Edward.
