chapter 14 the terror of rain

they say that if you stare into the abyss it stares back at you... what can be said if the abyss suddenly comes and drags you down just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time...?

like for example the one called rain... she got pulled into this mess because she happened to be around one of the people that has attracted the attention of the creator, many can say that those that have the creator's "favor" are unfortunate, while very few would say they were given an opportunity...

as for the being that started all of this havoc many of you are wondering why is this all-powerful being so keen on causing so much death?

what is their goal?

or is it just because the person is just that bored to even destroy multiple worlds that can be considered similar to suicide?

regardless though the one thing that this individual is doing now with an excited and bone-chilling grin was watching through a specific orb that was floating about showing the next action of the figure that was put on display...

this figure that torn through her enemies was powerful, extremely powerful, it was rain covered in a blue figure that looked like a huge tiger-like beast-kin as she raised her arm yet again to deliver another attack that cleaved through tens of these monsters that were so hellbent on killing the boy she was trying to save...

since she was fighting while holding the battered and tired boy with one arm all while using the other to attack, the way she usually hunted was thrown out of the window as a way to fight this harsh battlefield, thus she is forced to dodge and counterattack whenever possible, as every time rain hit something it would either be cut to pieces or crushed by a kick or sent flying to god knows where by her newly formed tail...

however despite the amount of power she showed, as carcasses of filled the area by nearly a few hundred, the attacks of the horde did not stop, no, it simply increased as rain gained a few levels, so did her enemies causing the attacks the horde delivered to be even more fierce...

one attack was pretty powerful it delivered by a creature that looked like a cross between an elephant and a pit bull as the large tusks that it had nearly impaled rain which she moved between and the rows of sharp teeth that is showed as it attempted to bite her, she narrowly dodged as it made one last attack which was a headbutt which worked causing a troublesome trait that rain had to stumble making her release the only thing that kept her sane that made rain feel alive again...

as the body of the boy named hiei went flying into the crowd, a snake girl jumped toward him, rain tried to get to him however the numbers that they had were too numerous which forced her to witness the next thing made her heart tremble...

seeing the desperation in rain's eyes the snake girl showed a smirk as she held the boy by the neck as ordered her men to stop...

this also caused rain to stop, fearing that she would lose that last thing that she held dear...

however, this reality is always a cruel thing, as the sound of something snapping could be heard...

upon hearing this rain's heart fell as the last thing that helped her keep her the last glimmer of humanity fell lifelessly to the ground like a ragged doll...

the snake girl was now happy and excited as she accomplished her task then was now awaiting that sweet reward that would release her from the shackles of the mad scientist and provide her with a massive boost in power due to her elation the monster she led was still awaiting her next order due to how similar they were too mindless puppets due to the amount fusions they were forced to endure...

thus they did nothing when rain was lifelessly walking towards the body of the boy upon reaching it she fell to her knees as rain weakly reached out to him...

however then next thing that she saw made her anger flare like a star that was about to explode, one of the monsters that weren't so mindless tried feasting on the body of the boy...

the snake girl was still celebrating at this moment but she quickly stopped as a pained animal cry swiftly flew by her head then followed by a loud *splat* interrupting her happy time as the next thing she saw made her curse at her army as they didn't finish off the nuisance yet...

just as she was about to order her army to finish rain the temperature began to rise as the girl she was watching began to change...

rain staggered as she got up blood was dripping from her hand as red cracks formed all over her body as if it was slowly destroying her, the blue figure that covered rain turned red, as its face turned rabid and malevolent, the figure shrunk as if matching the body of its user, torrents of burning wind picked up, as rain's eyes no longer held any signs of sanity it was then when the snake girl knew.... that she f*cked up...

rain charged at the snake girl and this time for her life...
