Chapter 3 - Two Days Ago?

It is now bright outside, and people crowd the streets as each does their own morning routine.

Greus has returned to the orphanage, wearing a bright smile as he can't wait anymore to tell everyone of his huge improvement.

However, Greus didn't expect what gone next.

When he entered the common room, what he saw was Miss Maria with a frightening expression in her face.

Miss Maria is the head mistress of the orphanage. She is a middle aged woman with a long brown hair and eyes. Despite her age, she is a beautiful woman, and is considered as one of Seia's top beauties.

However, the beautiful Miss Maria is glaring daggers at him.

Greus cannot helped it but be scared. He grew up in this orphanage, and Greus knows what's up if Miss Maria shows this kind of expression. Miss Maria is very kind and caring, not just to him, but to the other orphans as well. She stands as a mother figure to these orphans. So, when Miss Maria is this angry...

That means he did something really bad!

*thump* *thump*

Greus can feel his own heartbeat as he nervously looked behind him hoping to see if something is in his back, unfortunately it seems that, that is not the case.

Miss Maria's frightening expression was really directed at him.

"Oh fuck what did I do?"

Greus thought to himself as he tries to remember if he has done anything wrong this morning.

"Little G."

A stern voice breaks the silence.

Hearing Miss Maria call him 'Little G', Greus wanted to retort but he is not an idiot to do that at the moment. Instead, he focused more and try to remember what he did this morning.

Is it because he ate the last chocolate bread...

No, Miss Maria would not be this angry over such a petty thing.

But Greus couldn't think of any other mistakes he could have made! Earlier this morning he made sure to do the morning jobs perfectly. He is very confident in his work.

... or is it not just a simple chocolate bread?

Maybe from a lover? Something with sentimental value? Maybe a chocolate bread that can give you special powers? Maybe a special small paper is hidden inside that contains one of the secrets of this world? Or maybe...

While Greus is in the middle of thinking absurd thoughts, Miss Maria finally speaks.

"Little G, wha-"

"I'm really sorry for eating the chocolate bread Miss Maria, I promise I will buy pay back two-- No, three chocolate bread!"

Greus quickly bowed until his body formed a ninety degrees angle before Miss Maria even finished her words.

Dumbfounded at such a display, Miss Maria was momentarily speechless before speaking again.

"This child! Just what nonsense are you talking about? What makes you think that I will get this worked up over a simple chocolate bread?"

"Huh?"

"Listen Little G. If it weren't for that wonderful girl finding you in the dungeon and bringing your unconscious body back here two days earlier, then you would have surely met an untimely death."

"Just what is-"

"... and as if you are not satisfied enough, the moment your body recovers, you immediately run to the Great Forest as if nothing ever happened!"

"Miss Ma-"

"Do you not care for your life anymore?"

"Mi-"

"Do you think I won't be worried that you would have gone back to that dungeon without telling me again?"

"..."

"Now please explain."

Finally finished on speaking her thoughts, Miss Maria now looks at Greus with a gaze saying "You better have a good explanation on what happened!".

"..."

Greus finally have the chance to speak. However, what Miss Maria said just now is utterly ridiculous!

Went on a dungeon his own? A girl bringing his unconscious body back? Unconscious for around two days?

"Just what the hell is going on!?"

Greus exclaimed in his mind.

He initially thought that Miss Maria would be joking, but seeing her like this, she really is very serious.

"I'm waiting."

Miss Maria said with one of her eyebrows raised.

"..."

Even though Greus really wants to speak, he can't find where to find the words he needs!

He really doesn't know what Miss Maria is talking about!

Amidst the distressing moment, a thought flashed in his mind.

"The dream!"

Greus muttered to himself.

Miss Maria ofcourse, didn't miss hearing those words.

"Dream?"

"Yes! In my dreams I was in a dungeon then a goblin killed me."

"Little G. Just what does that dream tell me about what happened two days ago?"

Even Greus himself didn't know the answer to that question, but if what Miss Maria said is true, then he really is in a very mysterious situation right now.

What Miss Maria said and the dream about getting killed by a goblin connects. Then what about his other dream? Is it connected to? What about the girl that brought him back? Why does he feel so energized even though he is unconscious for around two days?

Thinking about such thoughts, a moment passed and something dawned on him.

Taking into consideration that such events really took place, then why can't he remember anything that happened two days earlier? The reason he went to the dungeon and the moments before he fell unconsicious, he really didn't know.

"Sorry Miss Maria, Something must have hit my head so I can't remember the reason."

Greus said with a sincere and apologetic expression.

Miss Maria stared at Greus for a while, and perhaps sensing the truthfulness of Greus' words, Miss Maria's expression eases and sighs.

"I guess there's nothing we can do about that..."

Miss Maria said with a helpless expression.

"We end this discussion for now, but please rest Little G. You have been bedridden for almost two days, don't burden your body so suddenly just like you did this morning."

Seeing Miss Maria calming down, Greus makes a sigh of relief and replied.

"Miss Maria look, my body has never been this powerful!"

Greus said with a confident expression while flexing his muscles.

"Little G."

Seeing Miss Maria's expression getting bad again Greus quickly replied.

"Alright Miss Maria. I'll take a rest!"

"Good!"

Knowing that it is finally over, Greus once again apologizes and bowed to Miss Maria and went back to his room upstairs.

"Really that kid..."

Making such a complicated expression, Miss Maria saw the children peeking in the gap of the door.

Miss Maria then smiled lightly as she stands up and resume what she needs to do.

...

Upstairs.

This morning really takes a toll on Greus' mind.

With a lot of things currently circulating in his thoughts, he decides to take a bath first in order to help him calm down.

Once again, he went to the front of the mirror and did some different cool posts.

"I really am cool as fuck!"

Then as he finished stripping his t-shirt, something caught his eyes.

There was a purple 'O' shaped tattoo in the center of his chest.
