A couple walked inside the hospital, beside them is a male teen who's holding a bouquet of flowers.
It's already been a year.
The nurses and the doctors greeted the couple as they walked. They already knew who they are. They were quite a lovely couple.
More importantly, they look at them sympathetically and with admiration. They know the hardships that they've been through. But even so, they are still strong.
It was about their daughter who suffered from a severe depression. The illness moved so fast as they watched their beloved daughter changed into a complete person and one day decided to end her life.
She failed, it was a relief. However, it did not end there. The girl woke up the next day in the hospital, alone and learned how she failed on her suicide attempt.
It was chaos. The girl went missing. They did their best to find her and yet not even her shadow can be seen. They never knew that she is already out of the hospital. They didn't even know how she was able to get out of the premises without getting notice by the security.
Apparently, the girl was able to go to the school. It was even on the rooftop. Her friend was able to find her. But before even her friend can inform the family, she already jumped off. The boy, who was a friend of their daughter testified that she did fell down and with a trembling hands called for emergency.
She had fallen onto an extending roof of the side school building, three floors down. The paramedics stated that when they arrived, the girl was not dead yet. But still, the red blood liquid that was pooling around her head was not a pretty sight.
It was like the red blood flower, spreading and desperately dying.
The doctor announced that the girl was already brain dead. There is no guarantee that she will wake up again. Even if she did, there are possibilities that other problems will arise because of what happened.
The doctor explained to the family that even if the girl wake up, she might still suffer from mental issues or memory loss from the trauma. A problem that might be with her for the rest of her life.
The couple broke down that day. However, they decided not to give up. Even with the girl's situation, they still want to cling to that hope that she will wake up and the will have a chance to make things right. Hence they asked to doctor to keep the apparatus or any life support that needs to be attached to her in order for her to continue to live.
It was cruel. A tragic story. They know how the girl wanted to die so much and yet they decided not to let her go. They decided not to give up on her even if the world already betrayed her. Even if the person itself already gave up on her own life.
It has already been a year but the girl is still sleeping. Her friends are even visiting her from time to time, bringing her bouquet of flowers and her favorite canelé. No one gave up. And everyone from the hospital knows how loved the girl was. They even began to pray for her recovery.
Like everyday, the couple came to visit their daughter again. They first talked to the doctor for their daughter progress and went to the girl's private room.
The room was big. Windows are open as well. Maybe the nurse opened it when she made a round. Nothing change.
Or not.
A girl who is wearing a pink gown hospital is pale. Her weight did not change that much.
But that girl, she's sitting on her bed. She's looking out to her window.
The lady of the couple choked out a sob realizing that their daughter who they've been waiting for already woke up, she can't helped but to cry because of happiness, of relief, surprise or any emotion.
The lady broke down and cried. She held her mouth using her hands to muffle her cry. While the man beside the lady almost fell, he's also crying and yet they both look happy and relieved.
"T-the doctor.. D-doctor!" the couple moved and look for the doctor.
The teen who's with the couple was left. He's still holding the bouquet of flowers, his eyes wide.
With the sound, the girl slowly turned her gaze and met the teen's orbs. Her eyes betrays no emotion yet she looks calm.
"Kaori!" Kosei run towards the girl and hugged her tight. The flowers was forgotten on the floor. Tears are already streaming down.
Kosei slowly parted from the hug and held Kaori's hand. It's warm and not cold like before. She's alive.
"Kaori..." he sniffed, "We missed you.. I missed you...." his hold tightened, his eyes never leaving the girl in front of him as he is afraid that if he did, Kaori will disappear.
"I..." Kaori licked her lips, feeling how chapped it is. "I-I'm sorry..."
Kosei held his breath as he listened to her voice after a long time.
"I'm sorry b-but.." a paused,
"Who are you?"
