Fairy's Domain

When Caleb first flew in the air, he could feel the wind rushing around him. He flew about 10 feet in the air, then immediately crashed to the ground. He had no idea how to fly.

Cornelia couldn't help but snicker at seeing her master crash so easily. 'Master, flying takes a bit of practice and the correct mindset. Imagine your body is as light as a feather and that the wings aren't even there, that should be enough to get you to the guild.' Cornelia thought to him

'Okay, I'll try it.' Caleb replied, not really sure about Cornelia's idea. He closed his eyes and thought of his body as light of a feather. Then he didn't even picture himself with wings. When he opened his eyes, he was 100 feet in the air beside Cornelia.

'See master! I told you so. You just need to trust me more.' Cornelia replied with snark in her voice. Caleb answered with a groan, and then they started flying.

Caleb loved the feeling of flying. He loved feeling the wind in his hair, the different smells in the air, and thinking how he could see so much from above. Caleb has flown on airplanes before, but this was a completely different and new experience.

They arrived at Fairy's Domain in about an hour. They were lucky and didn't have any encounters with flying monsters. When they landed in front of the gate it was closed. 'Weird, it's never closed.' Caleb thought to himself. Something serious must have happened.

He tried to open the gate but it wouldn't budgem The gate had a spell on it that would open if a fairy said the specific command. "Air Force." These two words were the voice command. This was actually a spell which would cause the gate to be forced open with a gush of air. Yet when Caleb said the words nothing happened.

Seeing no other option, Caleb yelled over the gate. "Ryan! Are you in there?" Ryan was his vice guild master and would take over whenever Caleb wasn't present. At that moment the gate opened and Caleb headed inside while Cornelia waited outside.

At the entrance Ryan greeted him. "Hey bro, why couldn't you get inside? We recently were attacked, that's why the gate was closed."

Caleb looked around at all the people standing in the entrance of the guild and said, "I need to speak to you in private. Let's go upstairs." Then Caleb headed for the stairs with Ryan behind him.

They arrived in Caleb's private study. The wooden door had a brass name plate on it that read "Haedre." The room was a simple room, with sky blue painting on the walls, a wooden desk, and two wooden chairs in front of the desk, and one behind it. There was a chest made of stone in the corner was that was magically enchanted to keep thieves out. Behind the desk was a huge window in which Caleb could see Cornelia.

Caleb sat on the side with the single chair. "So, tell me what's going on." Ryan said. Ryan was Caleb's most trusted friend since he came to The Timeless Realm, they started together and leveled up together. Although they were still known as Haedre and Ryan to each other, real names or other personal information couldn't be shared in the game.

Caleb proceeded to explain to Ryan what happened in the last few hours. Ryan didn't seem surprised by the news. "I knew this would happen. I am actually created by the dragons who made this game. I was sent here to help guide you on your journey. I was disguised as a fairy, but I am actually a dragonoid as well."

Needless to say, Caleb was shocked. He didn't expect Ryan to be a dragonoid as well, especially from the very beginning. "Then, I'm really stuck here?" Was all Caleb could manage to ask.

"I wouldn't say you're stuck." Ryan thought about it for a moment and said. "My master Qydom is very powerful. If you free him, you may be able to return back to your world. Seeing as it's all you have to go on, you might as well start with this." Ryan ended, secretly trying to convince Caleb.

Caleb thought about this for a few minutes before saying anything. He knew what Ryan was up to, but he still trusted him more than anyone else. He was his only friend at the moment. "Okay, I agree. What's the first step?"

"First we need to train you. Sure you might have fought in VR, but your life was never really on the line until now. Go to the library and get some spells, and learn how to use that sword on your back. You'll also need to learn how to control your dragon form better and longer." Ryan explained which caused Caleb to groan. The thing he hated the most in games was grinding.

Caleb remembered the sword when Ryan mentioned it. "Speaking of this sword, I can't wield it and don't know anything about it. When I used analyze on it everything showed up as question marks except for the name Dragon's Breath. Do you think we could find out more about it here?" Caleb completely forgot about the sword in his earlier explanation, but he did tell Ryan about analyze and he was shocked that Caleb could learn the spell.

"I've heard about Dragon's Breath from Qydom before." Ryan said with a smile on his face. "It's a perfect level sword meant for you when you become your strongest. Let me see it."

Caleb handed the sword over to Ryan, he used his Analyze spell on it. Ryan's analyze spell was level 100 and could analyze anything. After a moment he replied "As I thought, it has a level requirement of 100, but it boosts your attack by 100 points, and has a skill that unleashes the power of a dragon's breath once in battle."

Caleb was astounded at this. The weapon sounded super op! Also the dragon's breath released was random! Meaning it could be anything from fire to poison. Caleb was disappointed in the least.

"One more thing to note." Ryan said, while handing the sword back. "It is soulbound to you, meaning if you get separated from the sword, or get extra lives in the future and die, then the sword will come back when you respawn." This made Caleb all the more excited. No one could steal the sword from him.

"That's amazing Ryan! I can't wait until I'm strong enough to use it. It's pretty late though, I'm going to my room to go to sleep, we'll start training tomorrow." Caleb said while yawning.

"Sounds good, good night bro." Ryan said as Caleb left. Ryan stood behind and thought to himself, 'everything is going according to plan. Soon Caleb will return the Age of Dragons to this world.' Ryan was snickering to himself. Yes, he knew Caleb's real name, but Caleb didn't know that.

Caleb's room was a small room that branched off from his study. The room had a twin sized bed in it with brown sheets and a thin blanket. There was also a chest in the room that was enchanted, an armor rack, and a weapon rack on the wall.

Caleb put the sword on the weapon rack, his armor on the armor rack, and was just in his underwear. He thought to Cornelia 'good night Cornelia, get some rest we have a big day of training tomorrow.'

'good night master.' Cornelia thought. Then they both instantly fell asleep. Ready for whatever challenge may come the next day.

In the dead of night, somewhere far away, a tear appeared in the air. A black talon stuck through the tear. A voice could be heard saying "It's started, soon things will be as they should be." Then the talon retracted back in the tear, and it was like the tear was never even there.
