GODS - THE MISTAKE

Helen woke up with least knowledge of what had happened the day before . She was startled to see a man beside her . She jumped off her feet and started mumbling " who...who are you , where am I ?" . The man woke up and quite shocked to see himself on the cot , he told " I am sorry my lady , I noticed you needed help in the storm yesterday , I got you here out of the storm , but I do not know how I got up here , I am sorry I truly am ".

Helen did not know what to reply , she thanked him and rushed out the hut immediately . As soon as she walked out she saw him , PRIMUS sitting on a log facing away from hut . She started walking slowly towards him . " I saw you " told PRIMUS in a broken voice . Helen stopped , she was scared . " I saw you in there , with him . Is that the important person you wanted to meet , is his why you come down here for days ?" Continued PRIMUS with voice almost as if his world had fallen apart .

Helen spoke " no my lord , I've never seen this man... " . " yes I know you have never seen this man befor , I know that's what people say " interrupted the lord " I did not believe the words , all the voices in my head all the rumours in the hall , I wished it were all false , and then I come down here to see you and realise how wrong I was " , PRIMUS turned around with tears dripping down . Helen burst out in tears after seeing her husband sad , she spoke " this is so wrong my lord , I came down here to feed children and I was speaking to the tree and then there was storm and then I feel down and then ...and then I woke up in the hut , it's all just soo wrong PRIMUS believe me please " sobbing Helen with gulping the pain came closer and held his hands n wept . PRIMUS stood still with tears rolling down the eyes .

" lies , lies , the world knows now , the lord's wife is a witch , she's a woman who cheated on the lord himself " the words never stopped humming the ears of every god . PRIMUS was a victim of those words , he stood there with hands held by his love , eyes transfixed on sobbing face , he tried to swallow the tears , his throat gave up , his hands shivering with pain and sworrow . He trembled as he spoke " so you would not mind if I had that man killed , would u ?" .

" You can't do that , he tried to save me , he's a man who saved your wife who has a child in her , please my lord , this is all just a misled route , let's go home , let's ... let's just leave it here " Told Helen . PRIMUS's eyes turned from red of tears to white of anger , he slowly started pulling his hands out of her grip , but she held them hard still crying . He pulled his hands out and held her shoulders and with Helen's hands still holding his arms and asked with mixture of anger , pain and sadness ,

"Is it my child ? , the thing inside you , is it mine ? " . Helen let go her hands and sat down on her knees with head low . She was scared and very angry too . None of them knew what to speak . Soon there were gods gushing down through the clouds

All of them reached the land , riza too had come down , all of them despised Helen for the crime that was never committed , " kill the man in the hut " announced RIZA . Shocked Helen shouted " no , no , please don't , he has done nothing " . All eyes on Helen grew more despiteful . Two of them went and brought out the man and took me away .

" take her to the hall , verdict shall be given today " told PRIMUS and flew back to the clouds so did the rest .

Winds just kept howling and the voices still singing and playing their part . There she walked , up the stairs , with escorts . She could see her legs giving up on stairs . But, There she walked ....

TEARS DRIED , HATE DID NOT .
