Violet Star Umbrella

One year has passed like the spring breeze as Xing Chen continuously studied as he isolated himself in the Xing Clan's library like he had always done before. Even so, none of the younger clan members bothered him but took their time to understand and learn under the elders of the main Xing Clans.

As for the other older Xing Clan members of Jade City, besides Xing Chen's father and mother, they could only smile out in hidden disdain. Xing Chen was nothing, but a disappointment compared to his father who worked wholeheartedly all day with the elders of the Xing Clan to unlock the secrets of the red orb.

To them, it was better that Xing Yun and Xing Hua popped another child and let their only son rot in the library. Nearly all of them chose to become stronger. Constantly studying and learning from the elders from the main clan to avenge their fallen family members.

Unbeknownst to them, Xing Chen had been helping his father and the elders to decipher the red orb all this time. During the year, Xing Mushu had realized that Xing Chen had an extraordinary ability to read, decipher, and memorize anything texts he put his hands onto.

All the texts with unknown and ancient languages and knowledge were all deciphered by Xing Chen alone, hence allowing him to read anything and everything he can cram into his brain.

Three years later…

Xing Chen was in the fourth and last floor of the library, ready to read the new books. Every day, he had to consistently decipher, translate and write everything he could about their clan's history. From what he can gather, besides the prank incident, the Xing Clan had a very rich and ancient history that lasted three eras.

This also gave him the idea that the Lunar Continent had a deeper history than he originally thought. Pondering over the history he was able to unearth, Xing Chen walked towards a small shelf with 17 books on it. To be honest, he thought there would be more books at the last floor of the library, but it seems there were even less. Without much thought, he read through all the books quickly.

Feeling unsatisfied by the skills, he finally noticed a small black storage ring laid on an oddly shaped altar. He had been in the fourth floor once before, but this altar wasn't here the last time when the elder showed him this floor. Somewhere within this heart, he felt this altar only appeared when he was here alone. But as to why, he was unsure.

With his curiosity taking over his mind, he took the ring off the altar, which then disintegrated into dust. Xing Chen was startled by the altar turning into dust but also felt excited. It truly seemed like it appeared because of him.

Staring at the black ring curiously, he inserted his divine sense into it after a few minutes of examining. Within the black jade was a manual and a normal looking violet umbrella. As he took out the manual, he immediately began reading it, immersed in the profundity of the pages.

Although he was deep into the pages of the unknown manual, the system's notification sound alerted him.

Five years later…

"Xing Hua, how is our son?" Xing Yun softly spoke has he entered a small room with Xing Mushu.

"He's still in a comatose state," replied Xing Hua with a raspy voice, knowing that Xing Mushu came to do a daily check up on Xing Chen.

"I hope he wakes up soon…"

Xing Hua and Xing Yun had appeared to of aged tremendously over the past 5 years. They patiently waited for their son to wake up. If not for Xing Mushu, periodically checking up on Xing Chen, their ten-year-old son would have died from lack of nutrients within the fourth floor.

Based on Xing Mushu's conjecture, Xing Chen might have luckily found a powerful inheritance in the library they have not noticed before. Thus, putting him in this comatose state due to the sheer amount of information given to him. However, he was unsure of when Xing Chen would wake up but because of the fruits of his work, they used many treasures to keep him alive.

Without Xing Chen unnatural and extraordinary comprehensive abilities, they wouldn't be able to figure out the functions of the Ancient Gate Key within nine years. At most, it could have taken a few decades longer. Soon, finalizing the progress they made, their hopes to leave this damnable isolated space was extremely close.

Before Xing Mushu could speak, a light sound of sheets moving could be heard. Everyone immediately felt startled, staring at the teenager laying on top of the bed.
