Doctor?

Such a young person claiming that she could cure someone was unbelievable to the guards. Yet she sounded calm and very mature at such a young age.

They decided to let her enter. As there were many doctors who tried before but none were able to help.

If this person could really cure their miss then of course, they shouldn't block them at their doorsteps.

After some thinking, one of the guard led her towards their young misses room. While the other went to notify their master that a young women came in claiming that she was a doctor and said she may be able to cure their young miss.

Yulin was led into their young lady's room.

Upon entering the room and seeing the young lady she noticed that the room was dark and windows were shut tight.

This young lady seemed to be about her age and was sitting up on the bed.

"Excuse me? How often do you guys open the room to get air inside?"

She had asked the maid at the side of the room since the room seemed so stuffy and barely any fresh air inside.

"We were asked to keep the widows closed and leave the room dark by past doctors that have come to look at our miss."

This sounded weird to her because how was this young miss going to get better if she was locked inside the room with no fresh air or sunlight.

'It doesn't matter, let me look at her condition first. Some conditions may require the victim to be in a closed room as sunlight or any breeze may trigger their illness or make it worsen.'

"Mistress a Doctor is here to see you." One of the maids called out.

On the mission slip this young mistress identity was not known. However, according to Yulins memory. This miss should be from one of the five well known clans, the Ming clan.

Judging from the location and guards that were located outside. This was definitely the Ming clan. The young miss should be none other than Lan Er Ming.

She was quite a young lady. At a young age, she had shown promising results and was likely to bring fame and fortune to her clan. Her cultivation was at Houtian stage level 5. Which is considered a genius for someone her age.

Although Yulin has some information on the Ming family, it was also very limited. From the previous owner's memories most of the information was through gossip and hearing others talk about it.

Their Sheng clan has little to no interactions with the Ming family although both were well known clans.

Their clans would invite each other to banquets and large events out of courtesy but they were never close.

The fact that their miss is sick would mean that they've kept it secret for a while and had slowly allowed only certain people to gain such information.

They were backed into a corner to end up posting such a mission at the academy.

As all this went through Yulin's head, she had already arrived at the bedside of Lan Er Ming.

.....

"It's a pleasure to meet you. I would like to get straight to the point. If you don't mind, I would like to check your pulse."

Lan Er nodded her head. To her there was no difference, as she had seem to lose hope. She might as well get it over with.

Yulin then placed her fingers over Lan Er's wrist.

.....

After a period of time...

With a perplexed look on her face, she looked up at Lan Er and said, "You were...poisoned. I have some knowledge on what it is and can treat it but there's something I would like to ask."

"What can you tell me the day before this all happened. What were you doing and where were you at?"

Hearing Yulin mention all this, Lan Er was surprised. How could this person know so much from just her pulse?

However, Lan Er had never seen such a person her age who has such an astounding aura and calm demeanor.

Lan Er couldn't see her face but she could tell the person must come from a prominent background. The way that this person carries herself is unlike normal people.

How was this person able to know of her conditions by checking the pulse only? Many doctors had checked her pulse and used other methods to see what sort of illness she had.

They had said she was poisoned when she went on her mission. However, it would only get worse. The only thing those doctors could do would be to lessen the pain by having her take pills.

However, Yulin only checked her pulse once and knew right away already?! This person also said she has some knowledge on it and can treat it. Did that mean she could be cured?!

This was unbelievable to her. But a glimpse of hope was forming inside Lan Er.

"If you must know, the day this occurred I was out on a mission for the academy. As I went out on the mission alone I encountered a bunch of beasts.

Unfortunately, I was stung by a scorpion while I was fighting with them. Which made my state worsen and I could no longer continue to fight. I was lucky enough to run into a bunch of other cultivators who helped me escape."

'That means the poison started spreading slowly or else Lan Er would've had a quick death.'

"I believe that wasn't just any scorpion, that was the king of scorpions. You were lucky enough to escape. However, the poison has slowly invaded your body and rendered you disabled.

It must be quite difficult for you to even make large movements. Thus you are left to lay on your bed all day. The pills may lessen the pain but the longer this poison is within your body, your condition will worsen."

"Is there any way to save me then?"

Lan Er immediately asked Yulin. If there was a way for her to recover then she would jump at that chance.

"There is...but I have some conditions."
