Array

She proceeded towards the library and went straight to check out the books.

After some searching, Yulin found that most books didn't catch her attention and there wasn't really anything she wanted to read there.

Aside from some speed skills, the others weren't really interesting.

She continued walking around the library for a few minutes. As she walked around she came towards a section of library.

'Hmmm. Light Dance technique...'

Looking at the book, her fingers slowly trailed up to the counter and as she moved her fingers lightly she touched something.

She heard a small clicking sound and felt a strong surge pulling her and suddenly everything went dark.

The next moment she appeared within what looked like a dark and gloomy cave.

She wasn't sure what had transpired but it sure wasn't normal.

'What's going on?'

Yulin slowly walked around and inspected the place. It's seems she had come across something in the library that she didn't expect.

Her fingers accidentally touched something which transported her to this place. It seems what she touched might have been an array and she had activated it.

After inspecting the cave, it looked like if she wanted to leave it was going to be a little difficult.

The place looked like it was set up with an array. A person cannot leave unless they break the inscription on the array. Or their cultivation is high enough to break it.

However, it seems that once the array is broken the connection between the cave and the library will be broken. This array will also disappear. Others will not be able to enter here anymore.

The person that had set this up might have done so for someone else but that person never ended up using it.

'Great. I wanted to read books but end up in this predicament....sigh...oh well. Let's make a use of this and get through it.'

Within the cave, there were a few books all over the ground. Many of them looked old and rusty.

Besides the books, there was nothing else in the cave.

'This array probably had been set for years now.'

Since there was no other way out, she decided to read the books and see what she can out from it. Maybe it'll help her with breaking the array.

...

She spent hours reading. It was the next morning when she had finished reading the last book.

The last book she read was called the Light Dance technique. 'Is this the same one as the other one I saw in the library?'

Reading the book, it seemed easy to learn the technique. However, it was harder than it looked.

The technique had five levels to it. The higher it got, the more enhanced and faster the movements. This was more of a defense technique and not offense when in battle.

'It seems I might have stumbled into some good stuff. Although one of the book seems to be out of place here, this is definitely a keeper. The technique require you to be nimble and fast and will also help with that.'

She had the levels memorized but she had not practiced it yet. It looked like she was going to have to take the levels step by step.

Since she was done reading all the books, she decided to keep them inside her space. It would be better to take them than leave it to rot within the place.

...Sigh...

The other part now was breaking the array and leaving the cave.

....

Yulin got up and started stretching a little before she reenacted the stances and moves of Light Dance.

She spent a few hours on repeating and memorizing the first level of the technique when she felt that she could possibly perfect it if practiced a few more times. At this point she decided to stop.

Yulin then went over the array patterns and inscriptions in her head. She familiarized herself with everything she had read.

Every array is different or at least can be different but some components are the same. Some may require only breaking the inscription on the object while others need to be decoded and the pattern broken.

After relooking at the array that was set up inside the cave, she saw that the array was not that difficult compared to when she first saw it.

'It looks like in order to leave this array, I will have to find the source of power that is holding up the array. Possibly an object with an inscription on it.'

Yulin immediately sat down and used her spiritual sense to feel the space within the array.

'The spot where there's the least detection of energy is where the inscription object is likely to be at.'

After a few minutes, she suddenly stood up and walked to the side of the cave and grabbed a small stone that was stuck to the side.

'This should be it.'

Holding the stone in her hand, she quickly smashed it into pieces. As the stone was smashed, the array slowly disappeared and she returned to the spot she was previously at before she got transported.

Yulin immediately looked around and saw that no one noticed her odd appearance which gave her some relief.

She decided to look at the same book on the counter. After reading through that book, she found that there were only three levels on the book with the same skill.

This could possibly mean that the one she had on hand was a lot stronger and better. It could also be the original book.

After looking over that book, she left the library.

She had been gone for two days now, it was time she paid the Ming clan a visit. However, she'll return home first and take care of some things before she went.
