There was a thought all along that LoL matches should also have a half-time. This was to alleviate the tension from both teams in these matches, while also giving them time to regroup with the team and discuss further strategies for the match.
However, there wasn't any rules for a break in the game, so they made it themselves—manual pause.
That's to say, players would do things like kick out the internet cable, scream that the computer was lagging or that the screen froze midway, press R and state that their Q is not working… the list goes on.
The bottom line was, Huang Yu had made a great choice unknowingly, which was accidentally kicking the cable out of anger once he had gotten thrashed at mid lane. This allowed a short reprieve from the opponent's constant barrage of attacks which had been snow-balling the lane.
