Lesley's POV
Gusion and I were always together. We were at the stage of, like what they say 'getting to know each other'. And I couldn't believe myself that I loved everything about him. His seriousness, sweet gestures, his smell, the way he walk, the way he talk, the way he call me with his endearments, everything. Unbelievably, my feelings for him grows in every passing minute.I couldn't tell exactly how deep but I could feel, I was doomed.
I sighed sharply. My days wasn't complete if I couldn't see him.. I was starting to be possessive over him.. Just to be with him, I'm willing to forget my plan about giving justice to my family's death. I'm willing to give everything and do anything for him. And that was the thing. What I felt for him was so strong that it scares the hell out of me. With him, I could't think straight that I might do something stupid when the truth is, I didn't know what was the real score between us. I mean, he calls me with endearments, he always protects me, he showers me with compliments, he's always at my side, he cares, we often kissed, but he never said he loves me, not even once. I didn't want to ask or hope. I might end broken in the end.
I sighed and silently grunted. Jeez! This is hard.
I roughly laid down in the grasses under the tree. Eyes on the sky.
"Shokk!"
I gasped loudly and stood again. One stem of red rose was darted on tree trunk (the same tree where Gusion and I first met). I roamed my eyes and frowned. Nothing's around. I stood up and inspected the rose.
The heck. How did the stem pierced on the hard trunk? I removed the flower and looked at it keenly. It was a real fresh rose. I'm smelling it when I saw another one. Or two rather. No, it was three. Four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, whoah! And a lot more. It came from above and falling in my direction. I was showering with roses literally. Jeez!
I raised my two hands to catch every stem. "How on earth--" I stopped in my midsentence when the man behind these finally showed up.
"Gusion."
"You like it?" He asked, hands on his pocket, unsmiling but his eyes shone with happiness.
I smiled widely. "I love it." I love you. I wanted to added but I stopped myself. "Thank you." I supressed myself from sniffing. "What was this all about?" Hoping he'll say 'that's my way on saying I love you'. I sighed secretly.
He held my arm and we both sat down where the roses scattered. "Roses are important to you. So I want to master using them." I was disappointed but hid it through a smile. He continued as he picked one stem of red rose. "You were right when you say, your hair is as red as this flower. Your hair reminds you of your mother." He looked at me intently. "While the rose itself reminds me of you, Les." Wow. He gave me nickname. I love it. "I'm practicing using these because I want roses to be part of me. I want you to be part of my life." I was aghast. What did he say? He.. wants.. me.. to be part of his life? "M-meaning..?" Could it be--? I wasn't blinking while waiting for his answer. My heart's thudding violently.
Gusion took a deep breath. "Before I went here, the Elders in our community made me chose. Either I'll forget about my fighting techniques using blades or leave home. I chose the latter wanting to prove to them that they were wrong about their beliefs." One corner of his lips lifted. "When I met you, I know it was you I wanted to spend my life with. Your parents were gone. Mine were still alive. So by meeting them maybe you could feel you have them again."
My eyes widened with shock. "But I thought you chose to leave them for your own belief?"
"You're much important than anything else."
I wanted to cry. He never said 'I love you,' but what he said was much sweeter.
He stood up and offered his hand. "Let's go?"
I stared at him shockingly. "Where?" I gave my hand even before he answered.
"Home. You're coming with me. I want you to meet my parents."
