The Nurse’s office of predator and prey

I woke up in the nurse's office and I looked around.

"How do you feel Mr. James?" The nurse voice echoed.

I looked around until I saw the nurse.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"My name in Anne. I'm the school nurse." The nurse replied.

"What happened?" I questioned.

"You were hit in the eye by a soccer ball." The nurse answered.

"What!" I screamed.

I looked in the window. I had a black eye on my face.

"I thought it wouldn't be bad." I thought.

"Well it's not worse than I thought it could be. You have a visitor. I'll leave you two alone." The nurse says.

The nurse left and Becky walks in.

"Becky. What are-?" I started.

"I came to check on you. I had to lie to my class, but the teacher knew what I was doing." Becky replied.

"Your teacher knows?" I ask.

"Nope. She just knew I was checking on you." Becky answered.

"Oh." I sigh.

"Yeah Valeria was the one who kicked the ball." Becky says.

"Why would she do that?" I ask.

"She's a difficult type of person." Becky states.

"You got that right." I agreed.

Becky puts her finger on my black eye.

"Does it hurt?" Becky asked

"No. Not anymore really." I reply.

Becky leans forward and kissed me. I brushed my hand on Becky's cheek. Becky tips me back, but I accidently kicked the metal tray. Becky clears her throat after letting me up.

"I'm sorry. I didn't-" Becky says.

"You have a lot of love energy for me. You should save it for another time." I say.

"Yeah what's the big rush? I mean really." Becky chuckled.

Becky helps me get on my feet. What was in Becky? She just pranced at me like I was her prey and she was the predator.

From the nurse's office came to me riding the bus home. Carly was doing her usual chattering to me and I was always not listening when it comes to stuff about her. All I see out the window is the reflection of the nurse's office scene between Becky and me.

"October, I know that you love me because I do too." Becky's voice echoed.

"October!" Carly yells.

I snapped out of it.

"What is wrong with you? You keep on zoning out when we talk." Carly states.

"I don't know. I just think about things that is in my way Carly. It's complicated." I reply.

"It's about moving here?" Carly asks.

"Yeah I guess." I lied.

"You know I will always be here. Even if we still have the feud between the special education kids and us." Carly says.

Carly brought me in for a hug. I pull away slowly.

"Thanks Carly." I say.

"Anytime." Carly replied.
