Chapter 34 [The Beginning of the Ritual]

The preperation for the upcoming ritual was now underway... with the necessary things now being aquired and prepared by Hideo, Yui and Shami prepared themselves by meditating in a Yui's own dormitory room with no one else but the both of them occupying the said space.

The ritual itself wasn't really one that would just be written down due to the risk of someone using it then burns down an entire forest by just failing to succeed at performing it, it was just passed down from generation to generation from word of mouth instead of having it physically written down somewhere-- somewhere that anyone could just read up on and use.

If memory serves right... I think I need to request another young shrine maiden for this ritual since another blood letting was aquired so that the "main body" wouldn't run out of mana during the ritual...

Hideo quickly got in touch with the higher ups stating that he needed another shrine maiden to come over for another ritual.

Let's see... What else did it need...?

Trying to recall from his memory, he took a few minutes of just sitting silently to full remember every bit of the aforementioned ritual...

It needed three things and he's only taken care of the first one...

It needed the same type of blood that was used for Yui's mana recovery, White robes for the purification process, and make sure that there's a full moon in the sky when the ceremony was started.

Even though the last one on the list was something that they'll just wait for, Hideo still felt unease from how risky this was if done incorrectly.

This wasn't like Yui's tail recovery ritual that was done once before... This was even more dangerous than that.

Once the fire starts upon failing to perform it, there won't be any other way besides the "main body" attempting to control it. If the controlling fails then there's a chance that a whole forest will be destroyed.

Fortunately for him, the police could easily cover up what happened but the public would still be suspicious of what had taken place at the said area where a forest once was.

It will most likely start a conspiracy among the locals aside from the people from outside the area of where the former forest had been located.

Thus, Hideo started having second thoughts as he started to look for an alternative solution to Shami's ordeal... Unfortunately there wasn't one.

That was the problem that he faced as he tried to look for some purification robes inside the storage area of the E.I.M.D building.

That room had almost the same appearance to the library, with the only difference being it didn't have shelves... and shelves of book inside of it.

There were boxes stacked on top of each other instead, along with some drawers containing smaller items that couldn't be stored in the said boxes.

The ceremonial robes were like bath robs in appearance, except they were like a miko's attire minus for the part where it doesn't have a hakama... It was just the kosode or the kimono robe part that had to be put on.

Only a few more hours remained before the long awaited full moon, Yui and Shami were now on their way to a forest outside of Tokyo along with a small group of the silver-haired fox's vampire servants as protection from any surprise attacks.

At the same time, Miku was told to stay behind to not get hurt from the aftermath if the ritual were to actually fail.

This was the event that would decide on Shami's fate...

Meanwhile... In the same abandoned mansion where Rika and Aoi were being kept as servants for now...

Ten was currently been letting out her frustration at a tree in the mansion's yard as she sees the silver-haired fox on her way to a forest for the ritual that would make her much stronger once completed successfully.

*Crunch!"

Her hits left makers on the tree's trunk making it look like someone had attempted to cut it down using their bare fists to do so.

"I'll make sure this ritual doesn't succeed... HAHAHAHAHA!"

A sinister expression emerges from her face, giving her the look that could terrify and human being from just a glance at her.

Rika and Aoi who were currently still haven't gotten control of their own bodies back could only watch in horror as their bodies had been standing nearby, staring at Ten as she lashed out her anger toward the aforementioned tree.

Damn... She's scary...

Both thought, now feeling speechless as Ten turned toward them revealing the said expression to them without fail.

With her plan now about to be put to action, she teleported herself to an area near the said forest that Yui's group were about to arrive at...

Let's see if you can still recovery that mana once I'm done...

She possitioned herself a couple of meters away as she got to the forst and spots the group, Yui and Shami already wearing their ceremonial robes, and the vampire servants who were on high alert for the whole duration of their journey.

The cat humanoid's army had also been in hiding nearby, with cloaking spells keeping them out of view.

Her plan was simple... In case the ritual succeeds, the army would ambush the group if Ten were to fail at interupting it.

Tch... Those servants of hers are gonna be a pain...

She noticed the guards that were surrounding the two. Clicking her tongue, she started to look for a blindspot to execute her plan.

No sign of trouble so far...

Yui was on full alert with her servants who had been on edge ever since they left the village that they were teleported to.

She came with a back up plans in case someone like Ten attempts to interupt the upcoming ritual.

Yui wasn't just gonna be beaten like the last time she was fighting against Ten.

There's a big chance that Ten is gonna show the moment I begin the ritual... I prepared some "things" before we entered this forest so we should be fine if she actually does show up.

Feeling confident with the things that she prepared, she begun the ritual with Shami sitting across from her...

A strong gust of wind started to blow as she started to chant, making the leaves on the trees in the surrounding area start to move, along with the bushes and other foliage.

I need to do this perfectly...

Both her body and Shami's body began to glow as the same chant continued on.

Is it working...?

Yui asked herself, seeing that Shami's body had began to glow the same way that she did when she had been found.

*Whooooosh!*

The wind began to blow even stronger as the chanting reached it's half way point, the strength of the breeze was like one that a storm could bring.

Minutes have passed ever since the ritual had started...

Ten who was now closer to the group, she started to try and destroy the barrier that was set by Yui before hand but this doesn't work.

Tch... That damn fox came prepared...

Looks like I'll have to use brute force to get rid of it...

Looking at her burns on her hands that she got from trying to dispell the said barrier, she realizes that Yui had come prepared for any kind of surprise attacks.

The barrier wasn't like the one that she had used in the past, it was much stronger than that... Anything that touches it or tries to get rid of it will get burnt upon contact.

Looks like she's here...

The silver-haired detected the fluctuation of the mana in her mana.

Her servants immediatley noticed Yui's expression changing as her chanting continued, they did as they were told before they came there...

She had instructed them to "Locate and deal with any tresspassers the moment my facial expression changes".

And so they did, a couple of them teleported to the barrier's edges now on the hunt.

She shouldn't have come here... She's making a big mistake...

Yui was laughing on the inside, thinking that she had already won the moment Ten tried to dispell her barrier.
