Resolute George

"Father, listen carefully!"

George looked at his father with nothing but gleaming hatred.

"I am not going to listen to every command of you and just do what you want. Ever since I was little you always wanted to decide over my whole life and up till now I just accepted it. But it´s over now. I can´t do that anymore. What you are doing is wrong and we both know that. What you did in the past is a huge sin and you should pay for that. I admit up till now I was a coward and wouldn´t stand up for myself. I am not like that anymore. Don´t ever try to meddle into my life and work anymore. You wanted to be your successor and I did everything you wanted just to be the perfect heir. But what did I get? You don´t even trust me and now you yourself fired me. Did you ever want to know what I wanted? Did you ever ask how I was feeling?" George couldn´t hold himself back and had let out a long tirade to his father. All the pent up frustration that he held in all these years came out and he revealed his deepest thoughts.

"Seriously sometimes I wonder if I am your real son? Did you just create me so that I can be your puppet? I am not a freaking dog. I am human. I have dreams and wishes too."

His voice cracked caused by the desperation he felt.

His father just sighed at his sight.

"You would never survive on your own. I gave you everything you needed. A house, money and a job. Just do what I say and won´t fear of not having money or influence."

George laughed at his father.

"Seriously, do you think I need that. I am not happy with all the things you gave me. You just don´t understand what real happiness is, right? But no wonder. You don´t even know how to love someone."

After hearing that Mr. Henning also got angry again.

George had hit a nerve.

His son never ever had dared to say his thoughts this direct to him ever before. He was first stunned but he got furious immediately.

"How dare you! You insolent brat. You disobedient son. Don´t try to get on my nerve. Otherwise I will disinherit you once and for all."

George didn´t seem to be intimidated at all. He didn´t bat an eye when he answered.

"As you wish. I won´t blindly obey to your commands anymore. Do what you want to do." He shrugged his shoulders and stood firmly his ground.

Mr. Henning was furious beyond the madness of his son. This son of his dared to step all over him. He can´t let that happen. He had to give him a good lesson.

"Okay. Don´t come begging after this." He then looked at his men who still laid on the floor groaning.

"You useless bunch of idiots stand up and capture him. Give him a good beating and then throw out his stuff out of my house. He won´t get a cent out of me." He walked past them and walked to his car. He sat down and rolled the windows down.

"And you what are you doing standing there. Come with me." He called John and then rolled them up again.

The underlings of Mr. Henning once again stood up and stormed at George. He defended himself with all his might but his strength had begun to vanish. At last they were able to beat him into a pulp and drag him with them.

Eira stood at the side helplessly. She had tried to defend George and fight with him but he had pushed her to the side and gave her a warning look. She remembered his words he had told her at the family dinner to never meddle into the Henning business. This was clearly their business so she decided to just wait anxiously for them to stop hitting George at the end.

When they dragged him away she tried to stop them again but the piercing glare of Mr. Henning from inside the car stopped her in her tracks. She gulped trying to not be intimidated by his glare.

His glare made her understand that it wasn't wise to meddle into his business. She couldn't afford to let his anger go all over her, so she stopped and just helplessly watch all the cars driving off.

When the car where George was seated drove past her the window opened and something was thrown out of it. She caught it and saw that it were the car keys of George's car. She smiled thankfully after the car and walked to George's car.

If he didn't give her the keys she would have to walk home.

When she arrived home she immediately tried to call George but no one was answering. Frustrated she threw her phone on her bed and tried to watch TV to distract herself. The news once again reported of the comeback of Mr. Henning and the rumours around George and his mysterious girlfriend... or non-existent girlfriend.

Tired of hearing all the meaningless and baseless gossips she turned of the TV and walked to her study. There she started to draft out a plan for the upcoming cooking competition. She had to review it thoroughly so that there was a fair chance for everyone and there were no holes for anyone to play some tricks.

But her mind was too fussed to think straight so she sighed defeated and just went to bed.

Too many things have happened in the past 24 hours. And too many things weren't cleared out yet.

Tomorrow she will continue.

Tomorrow was still a day to work herself to the bones.

With that thought, Eira closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
