Shells Town (1)

Okami took the sword and the scabbard from Higuma's body and secured it on his waist. He then checked the bandit's pulse and felt that it was not throbbing anymore. "Dead."

He unsummoned Mr. Mime and carried the corpse on his shoulders with ease and looked behind. "Come on, Luffy. Let's go back."

Luffy stood up and gazed at Okami's back who was walking farther away from him. It was his first time witnessing such a brutal way of fighting and he never expected Okami to possess such fighting strength. He clenched his fist as he muttered to himself, "Cool..."

Even though it was the first time Okami had killed a person, he got through with it because of the passive perk of his Altered Vulpix - Calm Mind. It was a big help for him to brutally kill a person without remorse.

Okami noticed that the Pokemon App appeared before him. He grabbed it and read the prompt.

"Hey, what are you looking at?" Luffy's voice distracted Okami from his rumination. "That looks cool."

Okami chuckled. "This is a Pokemon App, a gadget of a Pokemon trainer like me."

Luffy gave him a curious look as he continued walking. "What's a Pokemon trainer?"

"They are warriors who can fight using pokemon. You've seen the one who was fighting beside me a while ago? That's a pokemon called Mr. Mime."

Luffy grinned. "Hell, yeah! That was a beautiful pokemon. Can you show it to me again, Okami?"

Okami wanted to laugh when he heard Luffy's weird taste. Back on Earth, if someone said Mr. Mime was a beautiful pokemon, he would be labeled as a heretic and blind. He squinted his eyes and saw the figures of Shank's crew waiting for them. "Later, I'll show you after I get my reward, okay? Looks like we're near the Partys Bar."

"Hehe! I never knew you were that strong! You never told us that you were a pirate."

Okami shook his head. "But I'm not a pirate, Luffy. I am a merchant and a Pokemon Trainer."

"Well, whatever suits you. Anyway, I wanna be the Pirate King and become the strongest!"

"I bet you will become one. Then I will be the greatest Pokemon trainer of all times."

They continued chatting with each other until they arrived at their destination. Luffy ran towards Shanks and hugged his waist while shouting, "I'm saved!"

Shanks stared at Okami while ruffling Luffy's hair and asked, "Did the bandit hurt you?"

Luffy released him and flexed his muscles. "No way! I'm not afraid of pain because I'm a rubber man. Besides, Okami defeated the enemy with his strong punches."

Shanks smirked when he saw the kid's antics. He then shifted his gaze at Okami, impressed with how he easily lifted the dead body who was taller and bigger than him. He could not help but compliment the young man. "Good strength!"

"Thanks, Shanks." Okami pointed at the dead body and said, "I'm gonna get my reward at the Marine Base."

"The nearest one is in Shells Town at the Yotsuba Island region. The 153rd Marine Base headed by that fool, Robert," Shank informed him.

Okami recalled that the notorious Morgan was not yet the captain of the base. "I see. Well, thank you for letting me catch him. Now, I can have the Beli I need to build my ship faster."

Shanks' mouth twitched. "Are you going to be a pirate hunter?"

"For now. I'll stop after I earn enough money to create a merchant ship. Don't worry, I'm not going to catch you."

Shanks snorted and signaled Ben to come forward, who then understood his intentions and approached Okami while taking out a map from his loosed jacket.

"Here, a chart of East Blue," Ben said and stepped backward after Okami received the map.

Okami unfurled the rolled parchment. "Uh, I think I can't read it but thank you for this gift."

"No problem. You better get a good navigator on your ship then. The sea can be unforgiving oftentimes." Shanks could not help but feel sympathetic towards the young man who wanted to earn Beli to fulfill his dreams. "I can offer you a ride if you want to. I'll make sure that I'll drop you where no marine can see you."

Okami always knew that Shanks had a good heart but this did not mean that he was harmless. Countless deaths of the enemies were a requirement for a person to become a Yonko, and he was on the same level as Big Mom, Kaido, and Whitebeard. Luckily, Shanks had seen his good side and saved Luffy as well.

"Thanks for the offer but I'm good. Anyway, you wanted to know what a Pokemon Trainer is, right?" Okami then summoned his Pokemon App before them. Shanks, Makino, Wood Slap, and the rest looked at him curiously.

Shanks narrowed his eyes. "What's that?"

"A Pokemon App, a gadget for a Pokemon trainer like me, Shanks."

"Oh, I've heard you mention it to me once when we've first met at the Partys Bar. Care to explain what a Pokemon trainer is?"

"Sure. But let me check the Pokemon App first."

Okami converted Mankey, the two Rattatas and Pidgey into PP, earning him an additional 250 Pokemon Points. He then redeemed Krabby, Magikarp, Dratini, Scyther, Onix, and Koffing leaving him 400 PP on his account.

Swirling lights appeared before the group, which then disappeared as it unveiled the new pokemon Okami just redeemed.

The crab-like pokemon walked sideways as she approached the splashing Magikarp on the ground. The green ninja-like bug pokemon flapped his thin wings and flew above Okami while the blue worm-like pokemon wiggled his way towards the gigantic boulder pokemon, who was sleeping behind Okami. The purple poison pokemon floated in the air with his dumb expression for all to see.

Shanks' gaze kept on changing from one pokemon to another, visibly mystified by the creatures. "What are they?"

Okami was about to explain what pokemon was when he noticed Luffy salivating over Krabby and Magikarp. "Luffy, pokemon are not food."

"They're crabs and fish! And I like crab meat!" Luffy ignored Okami's warning and stared at Krabby. Krabby seemed to realize the danger and positioned her pincers in a fighting stance, ready to defend herself from any attack.

Okami shook his head. "But they're my partners. Will you eat your future crew partners?"

Luffy scratched his head. "I guess not. But what are they?"

Okami told them what a pokemon was and how they were summoned, including the traits of being a Pokemon trainer. When he was done with his explanation, he unsummoned his pokemon and said, "That's what a Pokemon is all about."

"That's a pretty interesting way to fight." Shanks remembered his promise with Okami and asked, "Did you bring your potions with you? I'd like to buy them if you have one."

Okami nodded and they proceed with the transaction.

Shanks was impressed with the effects of the potions and decided to buy the remaining potions. Okami was happy to earn another 1,000 Beli.

Lucky Roo and the rest of Shank's crew took hold of a potion and placed it inside their bag.

"Thank you, Shanks."

"You're welcome. Are you sure that you don't want to become a pirate? You can join my crew."

"Nope. Well, got to go!" Okami summoned Pidgeot before them and secured the dead body on her back before climbing on board as well. The bird pokemon then flapped her wings and soared higher, leaving Shanks and the rest of his crew gaping their mouths.

After Okami left, Luffy went to play with the rest of the pirates as they exchange banters with each other.

Ben noticed his captain's expression and moved beside him. "What are you thinking?"

"Just curious about Okami. With his unique strength, I believe he will play a major role in the future. Too bad, he does not want to be a pirate," Shanks remarked.

"I've seen how he disappeared back then. I wonder how he did it..." Ben secured his rifle on his shoulder while looking up the sky. "And I agree with you, Captain. Somehow this will not be our last meeting with him."

Shanks nodded. "One thing for sure, he does not have the Will of the D."

=======================

Okami was flying for about thirty minutes before he saw Shells Town. He instructed Pidgeot to land on the ground and unsummoned her after she arrived. Some people kept pointing at him when they noticed the huge bird disappearing in a flash. Okami disregarded them and continued his way to the marine base as he carried Higuma's corpse on his shoulder.

It was more congested than Foosha village. There were more houses and buildings within the town and marines were more prominent in the area. He could compare the place to a town back on Earth, minus the cars and vehicles.

Even at a distance, he could already see the tower-like structures of the Marine base with a flag on its tip. He felt hungry but he needed to get rid of the body as soon as possible. Without a choice, he hurried his steps until he reached the Base. He agreed with how manga-Luffy described the base - 'looks pretty ugly up close'. Even the tacky 'Marine' sign on its metallic gate was just plain disaster.

He went toward the small door at the side of the gate and a marine stopped him from entering the premise.

"This is Marine Base and civilians are off-limits. Please state your purpose."

Okami pointed at the body on his shoulder. "I want to claim the bounty reward for Higuma's head."

"A pirate hunter? Please wait while I verify the bounty lists." The marine pulled out the posters from his desk to check Okami's claims. "Higuma, a bandit with an 8 million bounty on his head, wanted for killing 56 civilians. Such a scumbag deserves to die. Good job, pirate hunter. Please follow me."

Okami complied with his instructions and followed him until they arrived at the captain's office. The marine knocked on the door and shouted, "Ensign Eric Porreo requesting to enter, Sir!"

"Come in."

Eric then opened the door and entered the room. At once, he introduced Okami to the lieutenant and after everything was settled, he left the area after being dismissed.

Lieutenant Robert looked at him from top to bottom and laughed. "You're too brave to handle the bandit and his gang alone."

"They're just weak scums who can only terrorize the weak and the helpless. In front of an expert, they are nothing," Okami explained with a hint of confidence in his voice.

"Correct. Anyway, I'm curious. How did you defeat that many people? Please enlighten me, pirate hunter."

Instead of explaining it with words, Okami did a hand seal and fifteen copies of himself appeared behind him. The room became crowded instantly.

Lieutenant Robert's eyes widened. "Are you a Devil Fruit user? Did you eat the Clone-Clone Fruit?"

Okami shook his head and unsummoned his copies. "It's a unique skill of mine. You can easily see how I defeated the bandit gang even though I don't have a team."

Lieutenant Robert noticed the sword on his waist and asked, "Are you a Swordsman?"

"Nope. I just picked it up after I defeated Higuma. I am planning to sell it later."

"With your strength, you can be a great help to the cause of Justice. Want to be a Marine?"

"Can I still become a merchant if I become a Marine?"

Lieutenant Robert shook his head. "A Marine's duty is to uphold justice."

"Then the answer is a resounding no," Okami replied without hesitation. "I'm a merchant by heart and my duty is to uphold the Beli. I'm just forced to become a Pirate Hunter because I don't have the capital to build my shop."

Lieutenant Robert laughed when he heard Okami's absurd reason. "At least, you are not a pirate."

KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

"Come in!"

The door opened and Eric entered the office with a bag on his right hand. He then set the bag on the table and whispered something to Lieutenant Robert. The captain nodded and wrote something on the paper and showed it to him.

Eric sneered when he saw the message, took out his flintlock, and pointed it against Okami.
