The Ark Of True Force

Mavislin sighed as she turned towards her partner.

"Are you able to call a being of pure Light a Valkyrie if that being has been Corrupted?"

Raiyen looked perplexed when the rest were clear in their minds. Now they knew what they were up against. Forget Old Man Pond or the fragmented remains of the Congregation. One Valkyrie is enough to set the standard on the battlefield, let alone two. After all, they were the Gods of War.

"Trying to defeat that being won't be a simple feat to accomplish. Even Old Man Pond had problems trying to lay a scratch on the fella, let alone all of us," said Z, stressed at the situation.

"Then we've got the Husks to deal with. We were lucky to have the battle somewhere secluded the last time. I don't think they are lenient enough to do so again. It's not as difficult as the Corrupt Being. But if we let those things get out to the Human Community," explained Ysabeau.

"Humanity won't last a week," replied Mavislin, taking a deep breath.

"Don't underestimate my Mafia, we are still able to hold them off. We can buy enough time for you Mages to annihilate the Husks," said Ashley.

"My friend gave her life to vanquish the Husks back on Valokia. Even then, it still wasn't enough. Using the ultimate spell of the Valkyries, where the stakes were at the peak, it could barely scratch the surface of the Husks. That's the true force of the Husks," replied Mavislin, with anger.

"So that means, the Husks here aren't the actual thing?" asked Raiyen, shivering slightly.

"They come in waves. That was just the first wave. The following waves would be more difficult than the previous ones. So what makes you think anything could beat those walking lumps of flesh?" asked Mavislin, looking dead.

"It was easy enough the first time, so why would the playing field change?" asked Baldwin.

The Valkyrie raised her eyebrow.

"Previously, they were just puppets. Now, they've got their puppeteer. Need I say more?" asked Mavislin.

"Their puppeteer? Who would that be?" asked Z, genuinely curious.

"And besides, each wave interval can last for years. The first, second, and third one on Valokia only took a few months but waves three and four took two years to occur. When it did, wave four had more Husks than the first three combined. The fifth one was after a week and the end occurred."

"Celestia lasted only three waves," replied Ysabeau, as she thought back to her home planet.

Raiyen looked at his partner in fear. She seemed to know more about the Husks than any other being in the world. Ashley gave a scoff as he heard about those Husks. The previous wave on Earth was just a year ago.

"So that means the waves can come any second?" asked Minwoo, getting worried.

"Not only that, but the waves are also never-ending. There were five on Valokia but a few of the planets have reached up to ten," explained Mavislin, still in her matured voice.

"Akhaten lasted seven. Mainly because the waves are not that challenging for the first few times," said Gillian.

"That might not be the case since you Akis are considered to be stronger than the Valkyries..."

"They are?!" asked Ashley, shocked.

The Mages gave a confused look.

"Since when do you know about the Mages' ranks?" asked Minwoo.

"I've done my homework, you know," said Ashley, giving a hefty sigh.

"What homework? To kill Mavislin?" asked Baldwin, rather bluntly.

"Well, I had to learn something about my enemies first. I can't just go in blind. I just underestimated her. But yes, I read up about how the Mages came to be. And that each star out there consisted of other beings. Valkyries are considered as the strongest, at least, I thought."

"They are. But each galaxy has its leading planet. In the Andromeda Galaxy, it would be Valokia that takes the lead. In the Milky Way, it would be Akhaten," explained Mavislin.

"But even Akhaten had no chance when up against the Husks. If the Husks had fully overwhelmed the galaxies, Earth wouldn't have been born. It took the entire strength of the Mages just to push back one wave. If we had been hit by multiple, I don't think we'll be here," said Gillian.

"However, the last battle on Valookia finished with a single spell. One of the Five Major Spells of Ancient Valokia," replied Mavislin, looking down at her blankie.

"I'm starting to miss that little Valkyrie sound..." complained Ashley.

"You're not the only one," said Minwoo, trying to pat the girl's head.

"Let's head down for dinner. Now that Mavislin finally stopped clinging onto Ashley, we adults can continue to talk about our next move. Especially about the new group, we're planning," said Baldwin, leaving the room.
