The Ark Of A Weapon's Weak Point

"He is truly capable of becoming our future of the Arks."

But each pierces that Bryan dealt wasn't enough to deal any damage. If anything, it was weaker than the earlier slashes.

"Don't think for a second that these fans would falter after a multitude of attacks... This weaponry doesn't work like that!" yelled Tomoe, slamming his left leg into the ground.

He then pushed forward and against Bryan's attacks. When that happen and the Slayer felt the retaliation of Tomoe, Bryan abruptly halted his attacks and used his powerful legs to launch himself upwards. This made Tomoe fall forward instantly, without any space for recovery.

"We'll see about that..." whispered Bryan.

"Each weapon has a weak point. There is no weapon without a weak point. Even if the wielder boasts there is none, there's still an area on the weapon that would be weaker or more vulnerable compared to the rest of the weapon."

"Destroy any human or animal's spine and they are good as dead. Crush the foundation of a building and it will collapse. The same goes for weapons. Don't waste your time in ebbing your opponent's weapon. Find the spine and decimate it."

Those were words of advice from Minwoo as Bryan got sent out into the field alone. The White Rat was talking about humans, referring to their targets as 'weapons' since they were mostly puppets controlled by the richer families within the domains.

That was the start of a killing spree that Bryan initiated. The legend of the assassin only aimed for the target's spine. A simple stab to the middle of the vertebrae and twisting it so that the massive bone can be forced into two. The crack he heard meant the target was dead.

The kitsune cursed as he was forced to look at the ground. Bryan swung his right leg at the side of Tomoe's head, causing the fox to fly out of the ring and slam right into an oak tree. Bryan gave no space to Tomoe as he bolted towards the fox.

He wielded the blade in his right hand, which was held near the side of his head. His other hand was about to support his weight on whatever surface he was landing. As he plunged the tip into his opponent, Tomoe had no choice but to use his fans to defend himself.

Bryan took this chance and flipped his weapon at the last moment. This allowed the pommel to hit the fan instead.

"What?!" yelled Tomoe, confused at why Bryan did so.

But Tomoe laid eyes on where was Bryan's lower body. The fox widened his eyes as he had no choice but to accept what was going to happen to him.

With another change in the wind, Bryan forcefully brought his legs down and promptly stomped on Tomoe's legs. Thinking that it was just like the earlier attack, Tomoe tried swiping at Bryan once more. However, Bryan abruptly launched upwards, breaking Tomoe's legs in the process.

Baldwin heard the shatter of someone's bones and wanted to halt the fight. The Angry Man stopped dead in his tracks as he saw Bryan, high in the sky. The Slayer had leaped up and changed his sword grip back into the Orchs stance.

This time, he dived downwards, head first with the blade's tip beside it. His other hand was stretched out, palms opened. Tomoe was forced to look at his defeat in the eye as his legs were immobile. The Kitsune had to swallow his earlier statements.

Tomoe could not deny it, this boy was more powerful than he predicted. This boy didn't need power... He does not need such upgrades. He uses his strategies to defeat his enemies, finding any opening and snatching that thread to earn himself a victory.

His skills as a swordsman and assassin were enough to take down an army. His mind was sharp and ready to bend when necessary. Even when he was faced with a foreign fighting style and forced onto the defensive side...

He adapted and overcame without copying his opponent or using the same technique repeatedly. That gaze in his eyes when Tomoe forced his head upwards... That swift change in his movements when Bryan switched his grip...

All of it was disgustingly reminiscent of someone that Tomoe knew of. Someone that was the spitting image of Tomoe, his twin brother. Tomoe hated his twin with a burning passion but he was never willing to tell the reason why.

Why? No wonder he felt like killing Bryan when he first met him. Those eyes... It burned his heart. It reminded him of why he had chosen to be Raiyen's Familiar instead of staying in his world. It wasn't that he had forgotten, it was that he had chosen to forget.
