The Ark Of Dual-Linked Scythes

"But there's a difference with the wings of a Valkyrie and that of a Bahamut. Our wings can not be regenerated. A Valkyrie's one can. And each Valkyrie feather can morph into certain objects, depending on the situation. After all, those feathers are her Elemental Core," added Ysabeau.

Bryan looked at Mavislin with disbelief. He knew that the Elemental Core was something that a Mage would protect, by hook or by crook. He was stunned that a Mage that powerful would give away something so precious to her kind. It was like a human giving a part of their heart.

"Do not reject it. Consider it as an honor to be gifted the feather of a Valkyrie. And if you say no, I don't think you would want to handle her temper tantrums as a toddler," ordered Baldwin, cracking his neck.

Bryan nodded quickly and proceed to pluck a rainbow feather from Mavislin's wings. The Valkyrie turned around and clapped happily before reverting to her teenage form, keeping her wings. She landed on the floor and walked back to her seat while making faces at Kai.

"Alright, let's do this."

Bryan cupped the feather with both of his hands. He imagined all of his powers flowing into the feather. His Aura glowed brilliantly, with streams of his Elemental Energy pouring into his hands. Kai giggled and gurgles at the beautiful light display.

As his power increased, the Mages in the room started to have different reactions to the young man. Rina was in awe as she gazed at the display. Z and Baldwin smirked and nodded, noting that the boy has got good talent. Gillian remained indifferent, focusing on the weapon to come.

Ysabeau was intrigued and impressed at how Bryan managed to have all these Elemental Power stored in that skinny body of his. Mavislin's smile, in particular, was filled with pride as the Mages realized the potential of this young Mage.

"I'm shocked, this boy has got the potential to be one of us if he wants to. And the fact that he has a human body all this time makes it even more impossible. Bryan has the rank of a First-rate Mage as of now," murmured Ysabeau, feeling the weight of his Elemental Aura.

"If we don't watch our behind, he might destroy us without looking," replied Baldwin.

"Or he'll end up going crazy with power like this. The human mind can only do so much to handle power. He won't implode anymore but his sanity might still snap if he isn't ready to accept his power," added Z.

"That will never happen, no matter what. Not on my watch. That's a promise I will make to both the Arks and him. He is my underling and I'll do anything to protect him and the people around," said Mavislin, with a strict face and tone.

Z nudged Gillian at his side.

"Looks like she took on your commanding voice and words," whispered the Galaxian Mage.

"Are you sure that it wasn't yours?"

After a few minutes, Bryan felt something move from within the confines of his hands. He instantly released it and the feather finally took form. The Slayer was beyond impressed with the weapon he held within his hands.

"Dual Scythes?! That's not fair! Why do all the new ones get the cool stuff..." complained Raiyen, looking at the newly made weapon.

Twin Scythes, fully black with the edge of the curved blades being tinted gold. They looked sharp and both were connected with a chain. The handles' design reminded Mavislin of Benjamin's scythes, both had a running theme of using skeletons.

Bryan gingerly ran his fingers on the weapon, trying to get a better look at his new toy.

"Yea, but after training with Tomoe, I was hoping to use a sword. Minwoo's katanas are getting old and I can't use them forever," replied Bryan, looking at Raiyen.

"Not to worry. The moves I used during our duels are universal. That means that you can use any weapon and it'll still do damage. But of course, dual-linked weapons have a special fighting style. But it demands quite a lot of strength from your arms."

"From today onwards, I'll fight you using the appropriate weapon and you can use these new bad boys. There are some tricks I've been waiting to try out but can't because there isn't anyone to duel with. After your training is over, I'll drag you out to go drinking. It'll be my treat," explained Tomoe.

The familiar wrapped an arm around the Slayers' neck, hugging the poor confused man.

"I'll be looking forward to that, provided that I'm not dead by the time comes... Your duels aren't meant for newcomer. If I'd met you without knowing the Arks, I'd be dead," replied Bryan, fist-bumping with Tomoe.
