"You weren't there so you don't have any right to tell me how I should handle my Valkyrie," argued Raiyen, looking at Tomoe with a death glare.
The angered Time Mage yanked Tomoe's hand away and marched out the door and up to the rooms. Baldwin halted Tomoe by shaking his head.
"Don't worry about it. I know she won't run away for something as minor as this. But it's not to say you were wrong about your words on Mavislin needing time alone. You were right but Raiyen has his reasons as well."
"Yea, but if he keeps protecting her like that... She'll never learn," argued Tomoe.
"As he'd said, don't worry, if the Valkyrie truly wants to be alone, no one can find her. She is old enough to take care of herself. She is commanding an Ark, you know. Come now, let's head to our little hideout and get some puffs of air," suggested Gillian, patting on Tomoe's shoulder.
Tomoe sighed with frustration and left the dinner table with Gillian. But before the Headmaster went out, he turned to look at Bryan to give him a tip about his new weapon.
"Oh, by the way, try not to get your weapon too damaged. If it does, you might end up feeling physical pain. That weapon is a part of you. Think of it as your extension, you can make it vanish when you aren't in battle. Try it out," added Gillian, walking out.
Bryan's ears perked up as he tried it out. He was geniunely surpised his weapn got vanished. It would be so great to walk around without a weapon but still be on partol. He thanked the Headmaster and continued to finish his meal.
Meanwhile, a very conflicted Valkyrie was on the roof of the Old Chapel, flying about. She didn't show her Aura or glowing wings to prevent others from finding her. She thought for a bit, it has been a while since she used her wings in combat.
The last time was with the battle against Benjamin. Now, she was itching to fight someone within the skies. She couldn't ask Rina as of now, since she's probably tired after taking care of Kai the whole day. The children have been quite well-behaved with Baldwin and Gillian taking care of them.
She could ask Raiyen but he needed the rest for tomorrow's continuation of the spell. She sighed and continued flying about in the dark. Until her ears picked up something in dark. Thinking it was an intruder, she prepared to head into battle.
But to her surprise, it was just two guys having a quick smoke and chatting about the new couple of the household. She flew closer and perched onto a large branch. She shrank into her child form and sat on the branch with her back resting on the trunk.
Back on land, at the stable of Baldwin's pet house, two gentlemen were having a smoke. A fox spirit and an Aki were smoking pipes and chatting away. It was lucky that the Valkyrie couldn't see them.
"It's been a few years since I had a smoking buddy. I thought you'd quit," said Tomoe, blowing a large cloud out.
"I did until you showed up. I don't have an addiction like you, my friend. I only suggested it today because you were about to start a fight in my house. And the only way to calm you down is either forcing back into the Ancient Relic or smoking with you. I chose the latter since it's easier," explained Gillian.
"Ah, I guess that's true. But still, I am worried about my master having a girlfriend at such a young age. And she is a Valkyrie. The two of them are worlds apart and should've never met."
"You're sounding quite nasty when you think like that. Just because they are different doesn't mean that they shouldn't be together. I'm an Aki and my wife of a few centuries is a Bahamut, I see nothing wrong with that," argued Gillian.
"But the both of you were quite mature to understand each other. Raiyen and Mavislin, on the other hand, are simply too young. Keep in mind that Mavislin is a being that lives in the current time while Raiyen is a Time Mage."
"Meaning to say, there would be a possibility things are being flipped. For example, her first moments can be his last. Dealing with Time is a hassling. And you can't ask Raiyen to stop Time Frame Hopping. He'll die."
"Not only that, I've been hearing some stuff about his Time Frame Hopping. He's got a nasty habit of not returning to the proper time he should be in. One day, it will break Mavislin. I'm warnin' you guys," said Tomoe, with ferocity in the last sentence.
