Slashing the sword in midair resulted in some droplets of blood going towards Rina. They glowed green and became large flowers. They were the same as Rina's Petunia Rage, detonating after seconds of creation. Rina barely got out of there unscathed, and two continued to fight.
Midori was faster than before and was losing a lot of blood simultaneously. But that didn't bother her at all, much to Rina's dismay and frustration. The Flower Mage was still making shallow cuts on the child and was falling behind.
It seems that the battle was far from over, and the Headmaster was getting worried they'd miss lunch. Z and Ashley were more worried about the two girls fighting to their early graves. But they couldn't intervene as both didn't seem to want to back down.
Ashley turned to the kids to see how they were holding up. Everyone was alright and seemed drawn to the battle except for one child. The child Baldwin picked to be in the Pillars. The kid that looked like the Grim Reaper was covering his nose and had an expression of disgust.
"Why are you covering your nose?" asked Ashley, looking at Duncan.
"Because the smell of Midori's blood is overwhelming me. It's everywhere in the field, and I'm not too fond of the smell of blood. This place has got some sweet smells like the aroma of cooking, but the smell of blood turns my stomach upside down," complained Duncan, with a muffled voice.
"You can smell that?!" asked Ashley, shocked.
"What does it matter to you? Shouldn't you be stopping the fight? I think they've gone on long enough. I'm worried that I might miss lunch because of this pointless fight," said Duncan, with a blank stare.
This kid has no care of the two whatsoever! Could it be that he was apathetic?! Ashley was shocked at what Duncan could say without showing any expression. The odd child looked bored at the scene he was watching. It looks like this child would be a pain to train.
"What's up with that scent of yours? Why is there a scent of anger coming from you? It makes my throat burn, so stop it," asked Duncan, glaring at Ashley.
"Of course, I'm pissed off at you! Don't you have any respect for your teammate and teacher?! They are now in the midst of a duel to show their powers and combat skills. At least show some attention to them!" yelled Ashley, scaring the kids.
"Stop yelling. I've got a perfect set of ears, thank you very much. And you might make Nasima cry if you don't stop raising your voice. I don't have any care for them because Midori and I came from the same woman. We're fraternal twins by forced delayed birth."
"We are about three hours apart. You might say that I lack respect for people who don't earn it properly in my book, and I've got the same thinking as my elder sister. The difference is that my temper isn't as explosive as my counterpart."
"And why would you not stop the duel? This training session should be for Rina to test our offensive attack and defensive measures. Have you forgotten the goal of the lesson, Marksman? If they'd wanted to battle, then they should have done it in their spare time and space."
"They are wasting my time the longer this goes on. So do step in and stop those two women before I also end up missing my teatime as well," explained Duncan, with a death stare in his eyes.
I might blow his brains out if he doesn't stop with that repulsive attitude, thought Ashley as he reached for his pistol. Luckily, Z caught on and held Ashley's wrist in place while shaking his head. Then, Z turned to Duncan to give a proper answer.
An answer which doesn't involve shooting a poor kid in the head.
"Bare with it. If you can't even handle this kid, then you're lucky that you weren't the one training Bryan when he first came. He went as far as to insult and defy the High Queen. And that guy is a grown adult while these are just rascals, you don't have to get too pissed at them."
"And for God's sake, please don't kill any of these kids. Mavislin and Ysabeau didn't go out of their way to rescue all these gifted children to have you blowing their brains out at every defiance. They are children. Let them speak their minds."
"Unless you want Mavislin to make your head and neck file for divorce," warned Z, next to Ashley's ears.
"That's easy for you to say, kid. But, unfortunately, trying to stop them at the wrong time might risk doing more harm than good," replied Z, pointing to the dueling ladies.
